  1. I saw these guys open for Jethro Tull back in 1990. Rochester Aud in NY.
  2. I love these. Very entertaining. I am going to be completely honest. I don't listen to the album as much as others, but I can hear individual instruments and vocals fine. In fact, it is spinning on my turntable now. Yeah, I'm one of those. The first time I got chills from a Rush album was when I heard Natural Science. These moments continued through HYF. Witch Hunt, the solo break in YYZ, Analog Kid, Between the Wheels, Territories bass break, Middletown Dreams, Open Secrets, Tai Shan...ok, I was kidding on that last one. The first time I was disappointed by Rush was Superconductor. There were great moments on all the ensuing albums but no chills. Then again, I wasn't a kid anymore. Maybe that was it. Fast forward... The first time I heard Headlong Flight I got a big grin on my face. The rest of the album was great as well. There was one tune I could take or leave (WTW) but for the most part, I really like the album. Also, when I hear that build-up in the song Clockwork Angels, I got chills. Still do. Gonna be 42 next week. Like a kid I get excited. As a bass player, I would learn all of Geddy's parts. I would spend days not only copping the lick, but the feel as well. Last tune I learned that way was Prime Mover. I dabbled with the solo section on Show Don't Tell and a couple of riffs off Counterparts, but no songs. I have found myself trying to cop Geddy's licks off this album. So, Terrapin (I love the Dead as well), I respectively disagree with you in that in five years time or maybe ten years time I will still enjoy this album. Maybe not as much as Signals, MP, or PoW, but more than others.
  3. Gus Bloodhound Gang Napalm Death I always though King Crimson was one of the coolest names ever.
  4. Even my least favorite album of theirs is a good record. I can always find something to like about it. There are some that never get old. I rarely listen to Roll The Bones, but it reminds me of the tour which was a great one.
  5. So that guy who wrote the Bible was a Rush fan?
  6. Saratoga...Looks like I am going to add a 16th show to my list
  7. I have the blue one called Looking Through a window...in Quebec. Cover has Alex with the Sportscaster and the back Has Geddy with the Steinberger and Neil behind his kit.
  8. Happy Birthday! Hope it is great!
  9. Countryside would have been the best tune on Tormato.
  10. Very interesting music. I will have to explore some more of this. Thank you for posting this. It is too bad that he went so soon.
  11. Love this band. Parallels...Inside Out....Perfect Symmetry...A Pleasant Shade of Grey. If they bring back Joe DiBiase that would be fantastic!
  12. Their older stuff is much better than that song. I haven't heard the album that its from, but it sounds like they went in a much more commercial direction. Have you heard Turn of the Cards? Yes. I have heard Prologue, Ashes, and the Live at Carnegie as well. I remember Prologue as being better than the tune above, but there was something about her voice that I never warmed up to. My friends loved them and her. It was never my cup of tea. Talented band and excellent music, just not for me.
  13. I just gave the song another listen from the video...yes, I still don't like them.
  14. I never could get into this band. I love Yes and all things progressive. Great bass tone though...gotta be a Ric
  15. I have never heard the bottom two. That being said, I voted for Queensryche. This is one of the songs by them that I absolutely love. That does not discount the Rush tune, I still love it.
  16. This is a great album and was a fantastic tour...saw it twice. As for my favorite tune, Is there anybody listening. This track never grows old.
  17. I'm having trouble narrowing it to 20...I could find ten in any decade after the 70s though...well, I may have to search to find 10. The 70s...can't. But I do like what everyone has chosen so far. Problem is, I find more to add as I read them.
  18. I would have said the Spirit of Radio, but after seeing Tom Sawyer as an opener, my vote went there.
  19. It's one thing to do the two and a half minute Temples every night, but it's another thing for him to have to sing that whole song ever show for a whole tour. At this point Geddy knows he needs to do whatever he can to keep his voice as strong as possible since he doesn't have many tours left now and he's lost so much of the range he used to have years ago. The fans should want Geddy to be doing what he can to make sure his voice can last a few more tours and not doing something like this that will tear it apart during each show. You know how great Geddy's voice sounded this tour? It was the best it's been in at least ten years. Well, you can say goodbye to that if they play all of 2112 every show. I'm just being logical here. Which is the reason I've been pushing for an "All Instrumentals Tour!" but that's a whole other thread. :codger: You know, I would love to hear an all instrumental medley tucked into the end like they did with the medleys of the mid 80s to early 90s. This would be the medley for me. What Your Doing> beginning riff and after the doubled guitar/bass part Here again theme> Beneath Between Behind> just 1 verse Necromancer> just the section that opens with the clean guitar No One at the Bridge> Solo section Cygnus> opening Hemispheres> ending Finale The whole thing would be about 10 minutes.
  20. Instrumental medley with parts of Necromancer, No One at the Bridge, Cygnus, Hemispheres, and In the End.
