    RUSH in Rio

Reading through this thread has made me make RiR a must watch tonight. I saw VT tour six times I couldn't get enough of RUSH upon their return to rock icons. Loved the DVDs seeing this band in front of so many people with thAT much enthusiasm....the band HAD TO LOVE THIS FAN REACTION!
  2. I thought for sure the Jaguars original logo was a prancing cat that was similar to the car logo for Jaguar. They changed it to just the head shot after some court conflict issue....am I wrong on that?

    RUSH in Rio

My favorite moment in the DVD was the beginning of Tom Sawyer after the first note they show a shot of the crowd. A woman I think up against the fence puts her hands together in prayer and I think says "Thank You". I loved that genuine response from such an intense group of fans....awesome.

    The Kit

http://andrewolson.com/Neil_Peart/drums/drumkits/drums_history.htm A history Neil's drum kits and what has happened to them after retirement.
  6. These are really really cool.....keep them coming. I'll have to post a few of these in my RUSH thread on another band site.
  7. THIS exactly. .....and from time to time switch YYZ & LTTA
  8. Wasted is such a classic and that riff is hard to forget. The first three albums were great, saw the Pyro and Hysteria tours many times. The first time on the Hysteria Tour In Baltimore the place wasn't sold out but the album caught on as the two year tour took off. After that tickets were hard as everybody seem to want to see them in the round. Adrenaline was blah and Slang has to be one of the worst rock album and as someone said they were playing waaaaay out of their norm. Still one of the fun bands when I was young and lost some of my hearing in my right ear to this band.
  9. I agree with Grace Under Pressure right there with it. Your signature is getting ridiculous. :rage: I like your black and white. So which ones get under your skin? If it still does look away.
  10. http://www.progarchives.com/wallpapers/RUSHCOLLAGE.jpg Grace Under Pressure....first RUSH show of 3, first RUSH album, with RSA my favorite song. 2112=.......CLASSIC!....I have a love for Twilight Zone Permanent Waves.....finding their way to their prime...great album Power Windows....Mystic Rhythm....is a classic...I don't know how I underestimated this album do much along with the one below. Signals...I can't get Countdown out of mind....the imagery of take off is perfect Vapor Trails....the tour I saw the most 6 times...with Earthshine my favorite Exit Stage Left...will always be my favorite live album Moving Pictures....for me TCE makes this album Clockwork Angels.....over time this album will be regarded as a classic...The Garden is some of NPs best lyrics. Hemispheres....LVS....keeps this album near the top Counterparts....the only tour I've missed since GUP of 49 shows, another underestimated album that slipped under my radar. All The Worlds Stage A Farewell To Kings....Xanadu And Cinderella Man for me is the savior of this album Caress Of Steel Hold Your Fire....great album cover, one of my most enjoyable tours Rush In Rio....great visuals seeing the band play in front of so many. Test For Echo.....I think we did something of the top 25 songs TFE has to be included. RUSH Different Stages....I can't find where I put this one Presto Fly By Night A Show Of Hands....never liked the way they played RSA it seem speeded up compared to the GUP Tour. Roll The Bones Feedback Snakes & Arrows....never liked this album then and now after repeated listenings I dislike it even more. It's hard for me to listen it just doesn't work for me. Maybe due to me liking VT so much. The top 12 may never change but the middle down probably will over time. Some of the albums back in the time they came out I liked I now dislike SOMEWHAT and others vice versa. I'm getting old and my musical likings has changed quite a bit when it comes to RUSH. Also I'm sure I left out some lives albums on the list somewhere.
  11. It's not too late to get that program! http://www.rushbackstage.com/rushbackstage/media-260/tour-books/hold-your-fire-tourbook.html Of the now 50 shows I've seen that's the ONLY tour I bought a program. I still have it the attic somewhere and at shirt that says large but looks like it could fit a 11 year old. I can remember hearing the entire album on DC101 prior to them coming to the Capital Centre in MD. After hearing it I had to pick up the cd and see that tour for 3 shows.
  12. For me one of the most haunting is Red Sector A, the imagery is so real. The most profound is an underrated song I imo is..... "The Pass" Proud swagger out of the school yard Waiting for the world's applause Rebel without a conscience Martyr without a cause Static on your frequency Electrical storm in your veins Raging at unreachable glory Straining at invisible chains And now you're trembling on a rocky ledge Staring down into a heartless sea Can't face life on a razor's edge Nothing's what you thought it would be All of us get lost in the darkness Dreamers learn to steer by the stars All of us do time in the gutter Dreamers turn to look at the cars Turn around and turn around and turn around Turn around and walk the razor's edge Don't turn your back And slam the door on me It's not as if this barricade Blocks the only road It's not as if you're all alone In wanting to explode Someone set a bad example Made surrender seem all right The act of a noble warrior Who lost the will to fight And now you're trembling on a rocky ledge Staring down into a heartless sea Done with life on a razor's edge Nothing's what you thought it would be No hero in your tragedy No daring in your escape No salutes for your surrender Nothing noble in your fate Christ, what have you done? A song to me about suicide of the over achievers rather than kids who under achieve. I can understand I've been there.
  13. I agree with Grace Under Pressure right there with it.
  14. That is so true....for from PeW......to Presto. I started out with GUP then went backwards to PeW. I only got into the earlier albums when I listened to and bought 2112. After that I was open to ALL the early albums.....my bottom 5.... RUSH Presto Fly By Night Roll The Bones S&A
  15. Thanks everybody.....I called a B&N in Jupiter FL and told me about an old book store on Palm Beach island called and they had some. I drove straight there and bought ALL four they had. One to read and the others I'll keep protected until the one day I might meet up with the guys to possibly sign one. They are also on the cover of some other rock magazine, can't remember the mag, one I've never heard of before. I read the 8 page Q&A and I'm getting that one tomorrow at B&N. http://cygnus-x1.net/links/rush/images-2/cr-07.2015.jpg This was the other magazine they were on the cover. .....and the article that went with it. https://www.teamrock.com/features/2015-05-15/rush-we-re-coming-towards-the-end
  16. I've been extremely busy the last months........yesterday I went Barnes & Noble To get the issue. It was nowhere to be found. All I saw quickly was the current issue was this woman with big breasts. It was hazy I hadn't slept in a day a rapper someone told me. Anyway, they didn't have it was told to go online to RS and order it. I tried online and called no luck. Does anyone know how I can somewhat easily order/get this issue? Peace
  17. I'm convinced that every Rush album is someone's favorite. I'm convinced that every Rush album is someone's favorite. Great post RNB, I would agree you that every RUSH album IS someone's favorite album. For me it's GUP by far followed by 2112....MP IS GREAT album to me due solely to the track TCE. I'm not sure why that track stood out to me then and still does today. There's something to be said that we as fans go through phases where one album stands out more or where one prefers to listen to this album over another. Also others where one hasn't listened to in years or months such as S&A for me...it's like an upset stomach it just doesn't agree with me. I'd rather listen RTB over and over than go through that entire album. In The End I love them ALL really why because the albums comes from this band from Canada with the guy some say has a funny sounding voice.
  18. Zwow, that looked like something from NASCAR. TY....I'll post images on the PJ TDF cycling thread.
  19. I can't see the video and would love to see what caused this crash.
  20. Thats the one I messed up. A red starman. They should both match my red SUV.
  21. Your championship photos are ALL AWESOME.....if I haven't said before CONGRATULATIONS to the BLACKHAWKS
  22. I agree. S&A was easily the best album since GUP. S&A was barely the best album since Feedback. That S&A Tour was great (5 xs) that album for whatever has never agreed with me and still doesn't. On my album list I believe its at the bottom.
  23. This would be my second choice....The Good, The Bad, The Ugly....Enio Morricone ....with Ecstasy Of Gold by EM not far behind.
  24. I had to do the very same thing and after some time the song had to ROCK also it had to have a nice GROOVE.... CULT OF PERSONALITY.....Living Colour/ That would be a grand entrance indeed... :) For you though I would go with this one..... Or this one.... http://youtu.be/kG6lGH4VryA
