  1. Lost "Moving Pictures" footage?
  2. It's know it's been played on every bloody tour since 1982, but seeing as how it's my all-time favorite song and I've never seen them live (until July that is ), I have to go with "Subdivisions."
  3. Wow, I was utterly surprised when I selected one of my top 10 Rush songs and saw it in the lead... ...The Enemy Within!
  4. ^^^ I believe they use the "close enough" argument because the styles of Presto are reminiscent of what was to come in the 90's in addition to its release date. Hence, why PeW is still considered an 80's album, because the sound is more MP than Hemispheres. I personally don't agree with Presto being a 90's album, knowing that it was released in the 80's regardless of "sound," but I can understand where others come from.
  5. I wish they would just come to MI in general. However, I really don't have a problem getting out to Chicago either.
  6. QUOTE (Mara @ May 30 2010, 02:57 AM) Prime Mover. I love the entire album, but this is a particular favorite and it hasn't seen any attention in sooooo long. This. Even though "Lock and Key" is my favorite off HYF, I didn't particularly care for it live, and I don't think the performance will improve 23 years later.
  7. Where's the "all of the above" option? My absolute favorite album. Even though "The Big Money" is my favorite song on the album, since it's been done, I voted for the close second "Middletown Dreams."
  8. QUOTE (LeaveMyThingAlone @ May 29 2010, 11:46 PM)QUOTE (LERXST69 @ May 28 2010, 09:41 AM) HYF was the last flawless album. I agree with this statement completely. With the exception, of course, of Tai Shan, High Water, Second Nature, Lock and Key, and Open Secrets...take these away and u you have a flawless album. *Sarcasm detected* http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/9872/682fe4ff244ff88d342b5ad.gif
  9. Absolutely love the 90's material (of course, not as much as the 80's). Definitely would rather hear a concert of only 90's material than 70's or 00's. My 90's favorites: -Roll the Bones -Face Up -Where's My Thing? -The Big Wheel -Ghost of a Chance -Animate -Stick it Out -Alien Shore -Double Agent -Cold Fire -Test for Echo -The Color of Right -Dog Years -Virtuality -Resist -Carve Away the Stone BTW: I was born in 1990, discovered Rush in 2008, first love was a 1982 song, and favorite album is from 1985. So I'm curious as to what point Lerxst69 was making
  10. Are you male or female: Cinderella Man Describe yourself: Emotion Detector How do you feel about yourself: We Hold On Describe where you currently live: Driven (being from MI) If you could go anywhere, where would you go: Between Sun and Moon Your best friend is: Nobody's Hero Your favorite color is: Red Tide What's the weather like: High Water If your life was a tv show, what would it be called?: Losing It What is life to you: Faithless What is the best advice you have to give: Resist If you could change your name, what would it be: "Jacob"'s Ladder Your favorite food is: The Larger Bowl
  11. Scars' Rush Songs He Would Rather Not Hear List: -Anything from the first 3 albums (just not my cup o' tea Rush-wise) -Nobody's Hero (yawwwwnnnn) -Red Lenses (quite possibly my least favorite Rush song) -Second Nature (because they have 9 other songs to pick from HYF) -Any song from Vapor Trails that isn't Sweet Miracle or Freeze -Any song from S&A that isn't Far Cry or MalNar -Driven (overstayed its welcome) -LTTA (it's about time WMT? makes its return, me thinks ) -Dreamline (the true weak-link of RTB that the boys love for some reason)
  12. I can't help but agree with most of the comments I've seen here: 1) If this means a Vapor Trails remaster (and I mean a bloody true remaster, not just slight tweaks or making some things quieter) then I will undoubtedly purchase it. I never had too much of a problem with the sound quality of any other albums (no, not even Presto), though I do sometimes think that T4E could use a little less emphasis on the guitar and drums and more on the bass (off-topic slightly, sorry). So CD remasters aren't high on my purchase list unless some major changes are being made in the sound to change the experience. 2) A vinyl reissue would make my year. I own all the albums between MP and Presto on vinyl and I've had quite a difficult time trying to acquire any of the others for a decent price. Roll the Bones would be the album I would most look forward to on record (even though I like Counterparts as an album more, odd I know).
  13. Had to go with my all-time favorite instrumental by the boys... Where's My Thing?
  14. Augh, none! They play all the songs off the album every tour. If they play even one song from Moving Pictures, I am going to be pissed!
  15. Even though Available Light is my favorite song on the album, I would hate for my love of it to be tarnished live (let's admit it, Geddy just won't be able to pull it off night after night). Ultimately I went with Scars, not my favorite Rush song, but certainly different and upbeat enough to keep me entertained (and it is a freaking awesome song)
  16. QUOTE (Show Don't Tell @ May 23 2010, 12:24 PM) Losing It Emotion Detector Open Secrets High Water Chain Lightning Red Tide Available Light Face Up The Big Wheel The Color Of Right If I could pick 10...
  17. Love this album to death, and the choice was incredibly difficult. Ultimately, I went with Test for Echo. In my opinion it is the last great Rush song (though Far Cry comes awfully close). Though sometimes I find that I enjoy The Color of Right and Virtuality a lot more, TFE just has an atmosphere to it that translates incredibly well live. The song is also not too high on Geddy's register, so a lot shouldn't need to be done to make it playable.
  18. Grace Under Pressure A Farewell to Kings
  19. Just tried playing it...kind of sounds like the verses of "Show Don't Tell" but I could definitely be way off.
  20. Losing It Emotion Detector Open Secrets Chain Lighting Available Light QUOTE (tcdrushgeddy) Losing it Vapor Trail Open Secrets Available Light Emotion Detector You wanna hang out sometime?
  21. 12 songs you say? "Fear" tetralogy. -The Enemy Within -The Weapon -Witch Hunt (already in the set list, so won't count it) -Freeze Lock And Key Prime Mover Middletown Dreams The Big Money Double Agent Kid Gloves Test For Echo Where's My Thing? Chain Lightning
  22. Hold your fire Keep it burning bright Hold the flame 'till the dream ignites.
  23. The synth at the end of "Animate." Of course, the synth solo after the chorus' in "Subdivisions." The odd-time jam after the synth solo in "Countdown." The bass in "The Big Money," not a "moment," but pure perfection. The synth breakdown in "Middletown Dreams." Alex's solo at the beginning of "Emotion Detector." That one giant bass note that kicks in after the crowd noise in "Force Ten." The bassline between chorus one and verse two of "Prime Mover." The rap in "Roll the Bones" (I can't be the only one who likes it!) "On the edge of sleep..." during "Double Agent"... ...Just for starters
