Geddy and his mom to appear in "From Cradle To Stage"
RushFanForever replied to blueschica's topic in Rush
For those who haven't yet seen Geddy Lee and his mother Mary's appearance in From Cradle To Stage, Cosmo Music has uploaded a beginning snippet on their Vimeo channel. The episode starts off with Geddy doing a book signing for Big Beautiful of Bass at Cosmo Music. http://vimeo.com/571339985 -
Geddy's mother gave an oral history audio interview in 2006 (that relates to this article here), which was later donated to the US Holocaust Memorial Museum. The audio interview was posted online in late 2019, which can be heard here.

RPG: McCartney III vs. Eat A Peach
RushFanForever replied to Entre_Perpetuo's topic in Music Of The Spheres
In relation to McCartney III, there was this recent additional 'McCartney III Imagined' project. Then other lesser known music acts around the globe did McCartney III covers as part of 12 Days of Paul. Canadian singer-songwriter Jann Arden was given the opportunity to perform her 30 second interpretation of 'Lavatory Lil' here. -

From Variety. ‘Seinfeld’ Soundtrack to Be Released… Finally (EXCLUSIVE) I watched Seinfeld as a kid growing up in the late 80's and early 90's. This is where I first heard bass slapping in music and to quote Geddy Lee in the Jason Segel & Paul Rudd Meet Rush Funny or Die video, to "keep slappin' that bass". Then of course there's the late actor Jerry Stiller (Jason Alexander's TV father on Seinfeld), who was part of the comedy videos on the R30: 30th Anniversary World Tour.

I should also add that the late Gord Downie of The Tragically Hip in my opinion brought the residential school issue to the forefront back in 2016 with his Secret Path music project, which can be heard . As well, there's the 1967 Macleans magazine article, which was the catalyst for the project Downie undertook that can be viewed here.

The Tragically Hip - Saskadelphia EP
RushFanForever replied to RushFanForever's topic in Music Of The Spheres
Gord Sinclair and Paul Langlois of The Tragically Hip will be interviewed by AXS TV, which premieres on Canada Day tomorrow. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGWvVAZqfyo -
It's the 2017 The Big Interview with Dan Rather: Geddy Lee of Rush episode. The sneak peak preview clip from AXS TV below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBVya4G8uNQ The individual who uploaded the interview makes it seem like it's new, but isn't. Also the up-loader has edited and omitted The Big Interview introduction bits to prevent it from being removed for copyright issues I bet. However to those individual's who missed viewing the episode initially in 2017, then perhaps it will be new to them in that context.
