  1. I'd say option 4 but without Subdivisions - that song's been wayy overplayed I think. I really hope they don't play all of Signals. It's a good album, but I wouldn't put it on the same level as Moving Pictures and there's so many songs from other albums I'd rather hear them play anyway. Imo if they do play another album in it's entiretly, it should be Permanent Waves. And I can't help but think that the guys in the band would agree with that. Guess we'll have to wait and see...

    BU2BSLOW

Haha awesome! Here's another one - Force Ten played reeaalllyyy slowwwww. Pretty surreal actually!
  3. I think it's a great idea! My five picks were: Jacob's Ladder Manhattan Project Open Secrets Prime Mover Scars
  4. I'm gonna say no. It's a great song, but there are other songs I'd rather hear live. I wouldn't consider it a staple in the same way Tom Sawyer and TSOR are. I think the band will drop it this tour like they did on the R30 tour (unless they decide play PeW in it's entirety of course).

Just say that it needed to be moved. No point being a tool and calling him an attention whore or a retard...it only adds insult to injury. I'm not being a "tool" sonny. I'm pointing out that some entitled prick has started a thread where it shouldn't be because he's a puerile attention whore. It's not a capital offence but his lack of awareness should be. I agree that the thread should be in the other area but I think the way your handling the situation is just as bad. In fact I would say the way you're laying into druid with insults just screams "attention seeker" - I don't see anyone else making such a big deal out of it. And then to go and actually call him an "attention-seeking whore"? That's irony if ever I saw it. This isn't intended as a personal attack, it's just the way I'm seeing it. Well given that he's a "known" troll, I get to say, ya boo to you! And guess who's feeding him?

  7. QUOTE (LeaveMyThingAlone @ Apr 25 2012, 03:54 PM) Sorry guys, I did do a search to see if this poll had been done and didn't see it while it was on the 1st page all along, dunno how I missed it. I'm no fan of repetitive threads... That be my thread http://www.therushforum.com/index.php?showtopic=73274
  8. What do you mean by "song list"?
  9. I think it could be better but it's still too early to say. Certainly the stuff released so far has been promising. In fact, the only song on S&A that I like more than Caravan is Armor and Sword and I've got a feeling that the title track could be this album's A&S in terms of the epic feel. I think the biggest problem with S&A was consistency - there were some truly brilliant songs on it (ie. Far Cry, Armor and Sword) but also some real duds that were way below par, even for new Rush (Bravest Face especially i feel). So obviously, the biggest test for CA is whether the quality of the remaining tracks matches up to the ones already released. If so then I think for sure, it will be a better album than S&A. Guess we'll have to see...
  10. So which is it to be so far? For me, it's a close call between Caravan and Headlong Flight with Caravan edging ahead slightly. What d'you all think?

QUOTE (Tommy Sawyer @ Apr 21 2012, 07:05 PM)QUOTE (oldphilly @ Apr 21 2012, 05:05 PM) They've been saying this loooong before T4E. I think I saw an interview once where Alex was giving high praise to the new album Hold Your Fire! Rightfully so imo

    This is cool

If that statement was coming from someone outside the band (say a close friend of theirs) then I would maybe consider believing it slightly but coming from the band themselves? Oh please! As pointed out earlier, they said the same for TFE and well, I don't think many of us here would consider that one of the band's finer hours. I'm not predicting by any means that it's gonna be a bad album - I think all three of the songs released so far have been excellent. But let's not set expectations too high. I think this has a good chance of being the band's best album since Counterparts, but any further back than that? I personally have my doubts, though I hope the album will prove me wrong.

I plant the carrots with conviction While my thoughts turn towards the stew The soil in my hands makes we wonder What is this all about to brew? [chorus] I can't stop planting deep I can't stop planting deep I can't stop planting deep I can't stop planting deep I can't stop planting deep I can't stop planting deep In a field where I till far down I can't stop planting deep! That chorus! I can see it now: Rush gets a "Warning: Explicit Lyrics!" label on their new album. omg I think I almost died laughing!!!
  14. Verrry nice indeed!! This song really is Rush at they're most intense! To me it sounds like the sort of thing that the Vapor Trails album was aiming to be but never quite made. Sounds like they're hitting the nail on the head this time round though! Very excited about the new album now
  15. What about YYZ? It is of course a classic and it's something they've never used to open a show before. I think it would kick ass!! Far Cry would also be great imo. Not sure about Freewill or Subdivisions though. Neither of them really strike me as great show openers - Subdivisions in particular I think is just too mellow to really work. It works very well as an album opener but as a show opener, I'm not too sure.
  16. QUOTE (savagegrace26 @ Apr 6 2012, 04:13 PM)The entire Signals tour setlist + Clockwork Angels section? SET 1 The Spirit Of Radio Tom Sawyer Freewill Digital Man Subdivisions Vital Signs The Camera Eye Closer To The Heart Chemistry The Analog Kid Broon's Bane/The Trees Red Barchetta SET 2 Clockwork Angels section (7 to 8 songs) Drum Solo The Weapon New World Man Limelight Countdown ENCORE (medley) 2112 Overture/The Temples Of Syrinx Xanadu La Villa Strangiato In The Mood YYZ Sorry, can't say I'm a much of a fan of this setlist. Too similar to the last couple of tours imo. I'd at least want to see some material from PoW/HYF era. And Jacob's Ladder would always be welcome
  17. As far as I know, they've been used most tours since Grace Under Pressure - the TM tour being first for a while where they haven't been used. I loved what they did with them in YYZ on the S@A tour. Pretty intense stuff! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_P7x7e19j-8 Hopefully, they'll bring them back for the Clockwork Angels tour!
  18. Gotta say, I do know what you mean. The Cleveland version just doesn't seem quite as focused as the studio version - maybe due to Alex not quite nailing it that night? I too am not really a fan of the way Geddy sings the "Caravan thunders onward" bit live. And while I think Neil totally nails it, his drums being lower in the mix than the studio version takes some of the "oomph" out of the song too. So maybe those reasons some up what you're saying?
  19. QUOTE (Union 5-3992 @ Apr 1 2012, 12:22 PM) I hope it looks half as good as this http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-IeU6AAoiBEM/TzsN-lpzayI/AAAAAAAANnU/MUd2P38DLfY/s1600/d69589a46900259c8294c588d0953b21.jpg I agree - hopefully the album cover will be something like this. Imo easily Hugh Syme's best Rush work since Test For Echo.

Well at least it wasn't Rick Astley...
  21. QUOTE (losingit2k @ Mar 30 2012, 10:43 PM)Neurotica does have a great solo and feel but the worst Video RUSH has ever produced! Say wat? There's a music video for Neurotica!?
  22. I quite like the song - it's got a good bass line and a solid vocal melody. Overall, I'd rate it about mid pack out of the RTB songs. But yeah that guitar solo! Hope Alex has some moments like this in Clockwork Angels - definitely an element of his playing that's been lacking the last few albums. Though the solo on Caravan was a step in the right direction I think.
  23. QUOTE (danielmclark @ Mar 15 2012, 08:49 PM)I voted yes because what the hell. If you don't like it, don't listen to it. That being said, if they play any covers *live* ever again, I'd be pretty pissed off. It's inevitable that if they made another Feedback, they would play some of the songs live. Just look at the R30 tour - 4 covers! That alone I think is a very good reason for them not to do it again. My reference to no more covers was in the context of a live show more than anything else. It just seems ridiculous to me that a band with such a vast back catalogue would choose to take up valuable set time with covers, which they would if they made a Feedback II.
  24. No PLEASE no more covers!!
