    OH MY GOD!

QUOTE (trenken @ Apr 18 2012, 11:18 AM) QUOTE (Draco @ Apr 18 2012, 01:17 PM) Geddy's vocals? Ok in parts, but overall, meh. Just not doing it for me this time. You're in trouble! Mind you, this is with crappy computer speakers at a very low volume. If I cranked it too loud, the lady on the other side of the wall would be knocking on my office door again telling me to turn that crap down! But yeah. After the first two listens, incredible playing, but less than stellar vocals. Maybe tonight after a proper listen, I might have a change of mind...

  6. Hey all. If you're unfamiliar with Jacob, he did an amazing performance of Subdivisions a few years back. He was invited by Rush to perform at their induction ceremony for the Canadian Music Hall of Fame last year. The original performance can be seen at Jacob just passed along to me some dates that he will be playing. March 17th, The Living Room, NYC March 18th, New Life Church,Pittsfield, MA March 19th, The Middle East Church, Saratoga Springs, NY March 22nd, Abundant Life Church, Saratoga Springs, NY (7:30pm with Lincoln Brewster) For those in those areas, come on and check him out.

  8. Everyday John Barry. John is a high school classmate of mine. Mind you, he was a bit of a nerd. Was the main DJ for our high school radio station. He is the exact opposite of how he portrays himself, which makes it so funny to his fellow classmates today. He would pop into Facebook off an on, and just leave you with the most creative, hilarious, and intelligent posts. So another one of my high school classmates convinced him to create his own Facebook group. Although it just started, there are many of my former classmates just really feeling good after John writes his installments. Here's a excerpt of John writes every day: "On that fateful day, her first day, my prayers had been answered. She (who shall remain nameless) entered the room like an angel sent from above. She was outwardly beautiful, smiled (I think by this point some of the girls at Woodchuck School were already growling at me) and didn't run away when I said hello. Folks, I had damn near hit a home run! The year started off swimmingly well. I tried my hardest to impress the new girl by studying for spelling tests, not dropping my glass milk bottle in lunch and doing my best not to get hurt in gym class! Again, it was a very strong start to what could and should have been another plain Jane year. For those who can remember back that far, Valentine's Day was a time of hopeful anticipation. Perhaps it carried more weight for me because of my advanced age and obvious maturity when compared to my much younger, far less mature classmates, but I can tell you with a much certainty as a balanced federal budget, I, yours truly, was ready to don my silk-like cloud patterned shirt and matching gray suit and woo the new girl on the block. After spending an inordinate, and in retrospect some might say unhealthy amount of time perfecting my signature (oh yeah, I OWNED cursive!) and writing HER name on the envelope, I proudly strutted my surely insatiable self into the classroom and proudly and confidently placed what was surely the most magnificent Valentine's Day card into her beautifully decorated Valentine's paper lunch bag. " I love this guy!

  10. Hemispheres side 1 is always a "go to" for me. So that's how I voted.
  11. I received a mid-quality cassette of Test For Echo 3 weeks before it came out. A bunch of fans and I took an extended lunch and listened to the whole thing. I remember us just nodding our heads up and down when Half The World came on.
  12. QUOTE (Draco @ Mar 2 2012, 10:54 AM) QUOTE (GUP1771 @ Mar 2 2012, 08:51 AM) It's a very good cover until the guitar solo. It just felt out of place. I know they were trying to do their own thing at the same time, but the guitar solo threw me off. It's neat and all, but doesn't fit the song, in my opinion. Still, it's a great cover otherwise. I always appreciate bands that cover Rush, to make the song their own. Yet I have to agree with you GUP. The guitar solo is disjointed. A very good cover, but some improvements could be made. Yes. I am quoting my own post. I looked at the wrong video previously. I don't know what I looked at. Anyways, this version of Subdivisions is very well done. Very tight, and the drummer with the vocal ability ALONG with the drumming shows an extreme amount of talent.

It really sucks, but right now there's no fixing it. If there's a problem with a post, please PM a mod or admin, with a link to the post in question. Don't make us guess which post it is. Guessing is fun. I reported this post of yours, but I got an error message. If that's the only bug, then you must be blessed!!!

  15. Ok. That WAS funny! But why did I think that they were playing music that would accompany some really bad porn movie?
  16. Skip Daly (who did this interview) is also the creator of http://www.rushpetition.com. I know he is going to revive it for this next coming tour.

  18. QUOTE (JackRelax @ Mar 1 2012, 10:41 PM) It's a little unclear what you are asking people to do. Is this fundraising? I suspect a property like that in land value alone would be in the multi-million dollar range. Just a guess. I would agree. Something like this is going to be in the millions of dollars easy. Just a bit out of our leagues.
  19. To good not to share though. http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/423399_3118827404172_1069134437_3070065_467959411_n.jpg
  20. Although the effort can be appreciated, this is something that just won't fly. Historic landmarks go by the wrecking ball all the time. To use another historic facility in Quebec, if the Montreal Forum can be turned into a shopping centre, and to be honest, if Yankee Stadium can come down, then I'm afraid Le Studio is going to meet the same fate. It's just not viable anymore, and whatever may happen to it, "in the name of progress", is going to happen.
