  1. Really? What he said is right on the mark. Some people are unbelievable.
  2. Not a fan of the Chili Peppers, or their music, but I must say that I caught the I'm With You TV special not really knowing what to expect and was blown away with what I saw and heard. That Kid playing guitar was awesome, as well as the songs they were playing. The next day I went out and bought the CD. I think it's excellent music from a mature band, and I listen to it about once a month, still loving it. Looking forward to their next release with their new guitar player. I'll probably get it the day of release.
  3. I saw them in Boston. Geddy sounded the same as when I first saw them in late 1976. Some songs were dead on, others were not. Been that way for ever. So, no I don't think that his vocals are enhanced or fixed at any time. Now if they take a concert and bring it into the studio, then they might tweek his vocals somewhat.
  4. not saying I,m right or your wrong, but again blu ray players read DVDs with a DVD lens, however I was told that the processor is better so that must be where the conception of better images comes from. Try this, put a dvd TV series from the seventies in a blu ray player, it won't look much better than if you were watching it in a DVD player. As a matter of fact it might look worse. Again everything depends upon what any show or movie was filmed in/on.
  5. Sorry Lock And Key, but I don't believe they have released ASOH on blu ray. I would have bought it cause I believe that blu ray audio is superior to DVD audio.
  6. Blu ray doesn't upgrade any DVD video quality, that is a misconception. A blu ray player reads DVD's with a DVD lens, not the blu ray lens.
  7. I agree EagleMoon, it's just going to the extreme that I find ridiculous, especially in regards to Geddy's vocals. They(Rush), deliver amazing live concerts, don't try to polish every note or vocal. Clem I agree with you also, but when a Band releases a live album, you should expect them to tweek the recorded audio, along the same way they do it when recording in the studio. Imagine how records would sound if they just released what they captured on tape and then mixed to achieve what we listen to when we press play. Then we would have something to bitch about for real!
  8. then they might as well just go into the studio and play the whole concert live and get as many shots as they need to get it perfect. It's live, it's contained in 2 nights, not over the whole tour.
  9. I don't believe Rush will do anything other than get the vocals to sound the best they can with what was recorded on those nights. Mostly because they haven't done anything with the 5 previous concert releases, as far as I know and can tell. To quote roadwar: "Leave it the way it is for me."
  10. it also might mean that there is more to come for them as a band. Also I see the 4 lines as four decades counted(or in the books), and the red slash indicates the start of the fifth decade but because it's red could indicate caution possibly the end.
  11. The tour ends in August, go into the studio and start working out the new album(possibly their last), while they are in playing form(warmed up from touring), and either go ahead and finish the record, or in a few months continue the tour in Europe, then come home and finish the record for release in late 2016. After that who knows, maybe tour the album as their last tour, or just release the record and take a break.
  12. if you read the book, you'll understand how Halo Effect directly relates to The Garden and the way everything wraps up nicely.

    Why Rush

Fall 1975, I was 17 when I ordered Caress of Steel from Columbia House on 8-Track based on the write-up.Put it in and during the Necromancer I knew at that moment that this was it, and I never looked back. I bought 2112 the week it was released, and I've been there the first day on every new release since then. Life changing event is an understatement.
  14. you do realize that during the rap section, Alex is putting down some killer guitar, though at a low level.

    Every Album

I like all of them, and have no problem with any song they have recorded.
  16. RUSHHEAD666, no Davey isn't the singer on Trower's current tour, nor does he sing on the new album. Hey here's one for you-Spooky Tooth/The Mirror. Got that back around 1976ish. Would love to get a remastered version of this album.

  18. I listened to that 2 days ago, then I followed it up with Mogg/Way Chocolate Box with Jeff Kollman on guitar. Kollman is a great guitar player with many excellent cd's.
  19. Gamma Fan here. I got into the group because of Davey Pattision, the lead singer, who used to sing with Robin Trower.
  20. At least he never bit off anyone's ear.
  21. Tony R, you're the real deal, my man.
  22. Jeez Tony R give it a break, it's not about the woman, it's about her approach to life and how to live it to achieve the best for one's self. I'm not sure if I could spend 10 minutes alone in a room with her, but what she says has shaped my existence and been with me every day since I read the Fountainhead almost 40 years ago.
