1. I am a music person. There are many, many songs that I sing to and know every word, but I never put them together because I love the music so much.
2. I agree. Creativeness isn't just a switch you can flip on and off. I think there will be new music long after the touring is over.
3. I kind of feel like that about the Grateful Dead. I saw them for the last time at Three Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh at the end of June, 1995. He played 5 more shows after that to end the Dead's Summer Tour then died a month later.
4. I would like to hear Second Nature and Everyday Glory. Both songs are in my top 5 favorite Rush songs. Have been for a very long time. Anything else would be icing on the cake.
5. If I had to hear the entire album just to hear Everyday Glory, it would be worth it. Otherwise, just Everyday Glory would be fine with me.
6. July 20, 2008, Charlotte, NC. My daughter Sam's Make-A-Wish. The best moment is when we were at the sound check and Alex stood 3 feet away from Sam and played her Hope. I'll never forget it. He just watched her, smiled, and played while she sobbed. That song just means so much to her. She listened to it A LOT while taking chemotherapy. The other great moment was when Geddy dedicated Mission to her. She was on stage during the song and was so excited. Mission was (and still is) one of her very favorite songs. I remember watching her during the song. I couldn't believe Geddy dedicated the song to her. I haven't heard him dedicate songs very often over the years. By the way, Sam graduated from the University of Georgia in May with 2 bachelor degrees and is starting her graduate degree work at UGA next month. She remains cancer free!
7. The reply I received this morning from Backstage was "That didn't take long" and that's it. There is nothing they can do and I really do not think they care. Why should they care? They are in business to sell Rush merchandise, not police who buys it and what they do with it.
8. Too many rapids keep us sweeping along Too many captains keep on steering us wrong
9. I like the Hemispheres logo. Vapor Trails is a very close second.
10. $899.99 per 3 picture set.
11. The Backstage club can't do anything. Someone bought a set, then decided to sell it. If they can sell it for double what they paid for it, that is capitalism at its best!
12. Thanks, no, i took the slow route. I started with inexpensive compacts, moved up to an intro dslr and LEARNED photography. No apps or cell phone trickery. And I didn't even make a facebook page for my stuff until things had began selling. When I upgraded to professional gear, I made videography an addition to what I offer. Seemed a shame not to use the video capability that the Canon 5DMkIII has to offer, y'know? I've seen exactly what you were talking about by many people out there who bought a camera so thought they were a photographer and jumped right into "business". I've even seen some of them do kinda well at it, despite their obvious lack of skills. THAT has consistently blown my mind. LOL Always learning. Can't call yourself a photographer if you think you know it all. I don't see that as possible. The craft is so open to so many different ways of expression, that you just can't possibly know everything. It's a great journey, and I'm glad that what started as a hobby, which was really fostered a bunch of years ago in THIS forum, has turned into possibly my final career. The 5D MKIII is a really nice body. I use 1 series bodies most of the time. I do have a 5D Classic that I still use for for portrait work. It just has a quality that I can't explain. I guess it's the big pixels on the full frame sensor. It just produces beautiful images. Your right about always learning. I have been shooting rodeo for about 10 years. It keeps me very busy almost every weekend all over the southeast. Even after 10 years of learning the sport and what the contestants like, it seems that I find new ways to shoot all the time. I really think that continuous improvement is why I'm still in business. Keep it up! Good luck!
13. Good for you! Photography is a hard way to make a living. So many people buy a camera, set it on "automatic", start a Facebook page and say "I'm a pro". It has really affected the photography industry. People just don't value professional photography the way they used to. I guess I am lucky. 100% of my income has come from photography for about 15 years now. Keep it up and good luck!
14. Everyday Glory was first on my list. Far Cry would have been #26!
15. Wow Mara. That's pretty good. I can't remember dreams that we'll. But…I am old and took to many mind altering substances when I was young.
16. Very, very good.
17. "Weakest period"!!? HYF and Presto were during that period....... :) Has someone finally discovered the joys of Hold Your Fire, at long last? HIGH FIVE! 8/10 ain't bad...... I still don't understand what is so bad a out High Water and Tai Shan. To me, HYF is perfection. And not many talks about the good Open Secrets and Second Nature songs Second Nature is on my list. It's actually in my top 5. I love that song!
18. I'll play! Here's mine (currently) in no particular order; Everyday Glory Mission Hope Resist Red Barchetta Red Sector A Grand Designs Presto The Pass Ceiling Unlimited Marathon Second Nature Enter Nous Bravado Manhattan Project Halo Effect Xanadu The Weapon Between The Wheels Totem In The End The Camera Eye Here Again Chemistry Time Stand Still
19. I really like Counterparts. Everyday Glory is AWESOME!!!
20. The solo at the end of Mission is my favorite. So much emotion in that solo.
21. My daughter Samantha is graduating a double major from the University of Georgia. Political Science and International Studies. She is already enrolled in Grad school at UGA. I am very proud of her.
22. I really don't have a preference as to what they play but I would love to hear Everyday Glory.
23. On the radio. It was 1974 on "101 WMMS, The Home Of The Buzzard" out of Cleveland Ohio. Working Man was the song. I've been hooked ever since!
24. Finding My Way. December 1974, Cleveland Agora.
