  1. I have a framed Andrew MacNaughton print of Geddy playing his Ric on the Snakes and Arrows tour. It is also autographed by Geddy.
  2. Nice, thanks for posting. Enjoyed the other videos there as well, excellent stuff. Can't wait to hear it in all its glory when the BD is released. Of course it will be Ben Mink playing it. Doesn't matter. It's a Rush rarity!
  3. Hindsight is 20/20. None of us were there at the time, obviously. If the atomic bomb was a viable option in early 1944, would it have been deployed on a German city in order to end the war in Europe? Dunno... Possibly? I have my doubts due to the Soviet advance on the "Eastern" Front.
  4. Title says it all... https://qello.com/co...Losin-It--6356# :)
  5. I wasn't aware that the Japanese extreme "right" are still flying the flag (rising sun with rays) to this day. All symbols associated with the Nazi party were ruled to be illegal in Germany after their capitulation. Of course, even though politically incorrect, the Confederate battle flag is still legal to fly in the United States. You learn something new everyday... So, yeah. "Manhattan Project". Hellava song, yes?
  6. I would imagine his thought process went something like this: If I don't do anything the total loss is unknown but likely half a million If we invade at least a half million die If I drop the bomb a hundred thousand or so die per bomb and it is likely they will surrender (unimaginable that they didn't immediately surrender after the first one). Hmm.. if I drop the bomb a couple of hundred thousand is better than a half a million. Better that they die than our guys. Drop it. Possibly. At this point,I'll keep my opinion to myself. Wouldn't want to nuke my own thread, ya know?
  7. 1. Moving Pictures 2. 2112 3. Hemispheres 4. A Farewell to Kings 5. Caress of Steel Sea spray blurs my vision!! Permanent waves is right up there too. The only reason it isn't in the 5th spot is because "No One at the Bridge" is one of the first Rush songs that I learned how to play on guitar.
  8. June 18th, 1981 Seattle Center Coliseum, Seattle WA May 26th, 1984 Cow Palace San Francisco CA Missed the Signals tour because they skipped Seattle for some reason. I was incredibly jealous when a girl showed up at school with a Signals concert T. Her older brother drove her up to Vancouver B.C. to see the show.
  9. I cannot fathom the weight on Truman's shoulders when he made his final decision. He, more than likely, saved millions of lives. That being said, his decision resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of civilian lives. Unimaginable...
  10. 70 years ago today, the Enola Gay dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima. Three days later, the B-29 Superfortress Bockscar dropped the second atomic bomb on Nagasaki, bringing an end to the Second World War.
  11. Exactly! Despite its sonic deficiencies, Rush was back in business! That fact was all that mattered to me. My favorite band rose from the ashes. Selfish? Probably. Doesn't matter as far as I'm concerned. The train was back on its track.
  12. It's all subjective. Personally, I quite enjoy Ceiling Unlimited and Freeze from VT. I thought the band was history in 1998. Everything since has been gravy. What a ride!!!
  13. I agree. It's been long enough now that we can see how his voice has declined. Eddie Trunk mentions that Ged knows his voice hasn't been the best the last 15 years or so, but he still goes out there and gives it his all. That's all anyone can do. Still, he sounds great this tour. Much less yodeling and much more real singing, even if he doesn't sound like he did at 25 he's still hitting some pretty high notes. Yep, When I go see them I pay close attention to there playing as individuals These guys are truly amazing!! Thats good sh** right there! :haz: :rush: Wow! Just listened to this on a decent set of headphones. The only regret that I have with regard to this tour is that Rush didn't play this particular piece when I saw them in San Jose. I remember listening to this song when Signals was first released. It was quite depressing for me because it directly reflected what I was feeling when my grandparents were entering their twilight years. Nonetheless, a beautiful composition.
  14. Forgive my ignorance, but how so? What role did he play in the concept and/or the writing of the music? As far as I know, he wrote a companion piece to CA after the final composition was completed. Am I incorrect?
  15. Looks like his tweet was deleted. One must also remember that he is entitled to his opinion no matter how correct or incorrect it may be. That being said, his word is completely unofficial. No matter how close he is to the band, he is not in the band. Period.
  16. Agreed. He had a tough go with Anthem. That being said, it was ten times better than my pathetic version.
  17. Apparently the internet sucks in southern California. Can't complain, really. Probably Neil's fault. ;)
  18. My wife broke her right leg 2 weeks before the show in San Jose. Despite that setback, she showed a ton of heart and attended the gig and very much enjoyed herself! I love her! What a trooper!
  19. They're just waiting for the stoners to get to their seats. Canadians are polite that way.
  20. Ricky: Play "I Like to Rock". Lifeson: That's April Wine. Ricky: Well, play that "Diane Sawyer" song! Just f***in' play something! That's why you're here!
  21. Agreed. His vocals were much better than the last few tours. He backed off and played bass during Anthem when he knew that he couldn't hit the note. "The wonders of the..." bass guitar instead of singing the word "world". Then he blew me away because he nailed the next line. "The wonders of the world they wrouuuuuuuuught!!! " I was stunned!
  22. Dammit. Cut off right before Hemispheres. Can't complain, really. What an epic setlist, amirite? I've been to almost every tour since '81 and this on takes the cake!
