  1. I'm not traveling for this tour but on the S&A tour I flew from Tampa to Kansas City and Sacramento (Marysville) and drove to Orlando for the shows. Last year on the Time Machine tour I flew to San Francisco to see them at the Shoreline Amphitheatre.
  2. Underrated: Tai Shan Just a beautiful song. The lyrics send chills down my spine. I love the oriental soundscapes. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x37mdq_rush-tai-shan_music Overrated: Roll The Bones It's an ok song but I'm just not into it. I was walking through the Hard Rock Hotel here in Tampa and while going down an escalator I saw in big letters up on the wall in front of me "Why are we here, because we're here, Roll The Bones" - Rush I thought to myself, "Man, if you were going to put up some Rush lyrics, couldn't you find something better than this with the vast selections available?!?"
  3. Oh the red, its the chicken roaster sign, its right across my window.
  4. Welcome to TRF!! My "kids" (20 & 14) are huge Rush fans... with absolutely no influence from me.
  5. QUOTE (Oracle @ Jan 22 2011, 07:59 PM)>open up thread about prog drummers >see that Adrian Belew isn't listed Since when does Adrian Belew play drums?!? I put Bill Bruford and Neil Peart neck-and-neck for the best ever.
  6. (insert audience "sing along" from Rush in Rio here)
  7. QUOTE (tick @ Jan 15 2011, 10:09 AM) "I am not only the president of the club, I am a client! Oh chee waa waa!" I don't care if the round is over. This picture was not left up long enough to begin with. Well, it was 23 hrs. and I thought the time limit was 24 hrs. so I was an hour early. A thousand pardons for my "quick whistle" lol
  8. QUOTE (Ghost of a Rider @ Jan 15 2011, 06:07 AM) "Yo quiero new hairpiece." Winning caption goes to Ghost of a Rider!
  9. QUOTE (Ghost of a Rider @ Jan 14 2011, 06:28 AM)Actually this one was used already. You may have missed it when browsing the archive but it's there on page 6. Can you put up another one? Ooops, sorry about that. Must have mentally blocked out that image when I was browsing the archive. Here's another one... http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii197/judasnicknack/silly-dog-with-toupee-funny.jpg

  16. QUOTE (jesse2112 @ Oct 5 2010, 08:16 PM)While pot smokers at concerts usually don't bother me, I think its a little insulting to the band almost like their music isn't good enough sober With recent quotes like this, I don't think they find it insulting... on the contrary, I think they find it humorous. Alex in the documentary talking about playing Passage To Bangkok on the S&A tour... Alex: "And it is interesting how, when we played it on our last tour, how noticeable the atmosphere became." laughs Geddy: "We have one of the finest, most aeromatic audiences you'll ever find in Rock and Roll." smiles
  17. http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/image/1009/vela_lorenzi_c0.jpg Explanation: The plane of our Milky Way Galaxy runs through this complex and beautiful skyscape. At the northwestern edge of the constellation Vela (the Sails) the four frame mosaic is over 10 degrees wide, centered on the glowing filaments of the Vela Supernova Remnant, the expanding debris cloud from the death explosion of a massive star. Light from the supernova explosion that created the Vela remnant reached Earth about 11,000 years ago. In addition to the shocked filaments of glowing gas, the cosmic catastrophe also left behind an incredibly dense, rotating stellar core, the Vela Pulsar. Some 800 light-years distant, the Vela remnant is likely embedded in a larger and older supernova remnant, the Gum Nebula.
  18. Storm clouds over my neighborhood yesterday evening... http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb305/EveryNerveAware/RUSH/IMAG0039.jpg The clouds prepare for battle In the dark and brooding silence Bruised and sullen storm clouds Have the light of day obscured Looming low and ominous In twilight premature Thunder heads are rumbling In a distant overture...
  19. QUOTE (The Sphere @ Sep 8 2010, 10:21 AM)Hi Folks~ Just found out I am going to Tampa for the show on October 1st. Coming from S. Ontario, Canada and have never been to your fine city. Just wondering what other things we should take in while there, sights, restaurants, clubs, etc. "Facts show 5 out of 4 people don't understand fractions" There are a lot of fun things to do in Tampa during your visit. Busch Gardens amusement park Adventure Island waterpark Y'bor City historic district Channelside shops and restaurants Hard Rock Seminole casino and hotel (right next to the venue and where we're staying the night of the show) A good source for Tampa Bay info is: http://www.tbo.com Hope this helps
