  1. I was worried the sound in the arena would be shitty but I was pleasantly surprised to find out I could hear pretty much everything clearly. The new songs were awesome live and I love when they put a drum solo in the middle of a song and then come back and finish the song after the solo (i.e., as they did in Where's My Thing?). Another great show. Can't wait for the next tour. Only part I didn't like was in Analog Kid when Geddy changed "baseball cap" to "Phillies Cap." As a Mets fan that made my skin crawl for second.
  2. i'm not a trek fan but i enjoyed the movie a lot. i wrote a review (link below) if anyone's interested. any feedback would be appreciated. thanks. Star Trek Review by Tom G

I wouldn't say that. You've named a bunch of films which have been recognized with nominations. Yep. Has anyone seen Slumdog Millionaire? I had never heard of this movie prior to the Golden Globes. Is it really that good? No
  4. QUOTE (Saint NIck @ Feb 14 2009, 04:04 PM) Just got home...Clint Eastwood is top notch; superb film. Is it nominated for an Academy Award? It should be. http://tinyurl.com/c4khg7
  5. QUOTE (treeduck @ Feb 1 2009, 02:54 AM) Let's keep this simple: I'm not interested in this film because first of all I'm not interested at all in the Indian version of the quiz show "Who Wants to be a Millionaire." I'm also not interested in the UK version or the US version either, nor the martian or saturnian versions if they're out there. So seeing a film about it really doesn't perk my interest in the slightest, in fact I don't want to see anything that reminds me of that show ever again. it's not about the show. it's about how the contestant knows the answers because he's been lucky enough to learn them throughout his rough life. relatively little time actually takes place on the game show set. try to see a movie before you bash it
  6. i didn't like it very much. i thought it was an overrated cidade de deus ripoff that didn't have the guts to be as real as cidade. sometimes it's very real and depressing and then it's a fairy tale where the main character chases after the girl he thinks he loves (he seems to love her because she's the only female character in the movie). imo, milk and the wrestler were much better (especially the wrestler).
  7. if you haven't seen The Wrestler yet go see it asap. if you have seen it, what did you think?

  9. without doubt one of the worst movies i have ever seen. most of the reasons for my opinion have already been stated though.
  10. has anyone here watched the hbo show flight of the conchords? does anyone else here love it? does anyone know if a second season is on the way?
  11. i didn't really like it. the whole premise was just too ridiculous for me.
  12. i can't see how this movie could disappoint. the first one was great and this one looks even better thanks in no small part to ledger's performance. i've always seen the joker portrayed as a sharp dressed man with perfect makeup. ledger truly looks like he's out of his mind.
  13. i like the guitar alex has in your sig. 98%
  14. QUOTE (Mr. Mojo Risin' @ May 12 2008, 02:51 AM) Made 20 million this weekend, had a 120 million dollar budget. Fail, Speed Racer, Faaaail! IMDb reports that it cost $300 million to produce and market. yikes.... http://www.imdb.com/news/sb/2008-05-12/
  15. i have to agree and say that it was excellent. i didn't want to leave my seat after the scene after the credits.
  16. i'd say moving pictures is my favorite cover
