  1. QUOTE (Mara @ Apr 30 2010, 10:55 AM) Am I mean? Husband told me it was okay to get the VIP package for myself and a less expensive ticket for him. I STILL got him a good seat. I am about 8 rows back from the front, Alex's side, seat 4 so it's close to the middle. I just don't have the steel set required to wait until the day of the show and hope. Plus this gets me the documentary DVD! Atlanta VIP package was, all totaled, $284.65. Nothing wrong with that. Hope you enjoy. That was a nice thing he did. Make sure you let him know how much you appreciate it.
  2. QUOTE (lerxt1990 @ Apr 25 2010, 06:16 PM) QUOTE (Mara @ Apr 25 2010, 05:15 PM) Damn skippy. One of those where they always look like it's such a complete blast to perform. Well in the Time Machine spirit, how about ending like they used ot end for years. And the lights, and us all clapping together, that was fun Good call I'd love it if they would close the show with that one again. edit: by agreeing with this am I automatically an old fart?
  3. QUOTE (metaldad @ Apr 23 2010, 12:44 PM) QUOTE (EmotionDetector @ Apr 23 2010, 09:26 AM) QUOTE (metaldad @ Apr 23 2010, 08:20 AM) Yes. I have to plan the Beer break . If i know the song order i know when i can get more Beer But what if the setlist contains NO songs from HYF, S&A, and RTB...and the only songs they play are pure classics that you love?! Then...what? Then i have my wife get the beer But what if your wife refuses to go to a Rush show with you? And don't say divorce, 'cause as far as I'm concerned its not an option
  4. QUOTE (Mara @ Apr 23 2010, 12:43 PM) I just hope, every time I hear "different arrangement" that the correct translation of that phrase is not "acoustic". Again, this is but one song of many on the setlist, so if it doesn't come off well it will hardly ruin the night. I think "different arrangement" is more reminiscent of what they did with Natural Science and Animate before the VT tour. Just minor tweaks with the arrangement with tuning down a bit for the older songs a possibility as well (i.e. Circumstances on the 1st leg of S&A). Personally, if I finally get to see TCE and it is unrecognizable from the studio version I'll be very pissed. But thats just my .02.
  5. Ok, I scrolled through this entire thread and I can't believe nobody has posted my favorite movie quote of all time: "I'm your huckleberry" http://www.patriotresource.com/tombstone/graphics/cast/kilmer.jpg Friggin' classic!!!! An all time classic!!!! edit: I gotta add more Johnny Ringo: My fight's not with you, Holliday. Doc Holliday: I beg to differ, sir. We started a game we never got to finish. "Play for Blood," remember? Johnny Ringo: Oh that. I was just foolin' about. Doc Holliday: I wasn't. ____ Wyatt Earp: What makes a man like Ringo, Doc? What makes him do the things he does? Doc: A man like Ringo...got a great empty hole right through the middle of him. He can never kill enough or steal enough...or inflict enough pain to ever fill it. Wyatt: What does he need? Doc: Revenge Wyatt: For what? Doc: Bein' born _______________ Billy Clanton: Why, it's the drunk piano player. You're so drunk, you can't hit nothin'. In fact, you're probably seeing double. Doc Holliday: I have two guns, one for each of ya. _____________ Doc Holliday: Maybe poker's just not your game, Ike. I know: let's have a spelling contest _________________ Turkey Creek Jack Johnson: Why you doin' this, Doc? Doc Holliday: Because Wyatt Earp is my friend. Turkey Creek Jack Johnson: Friend? Hell, I got lots of friends. Doc Holliday: ...I don't. I could go on and on, but that is just a few. What a great freakin' movie!
  6. QUOTE (Mara @ Apr 23 2010, 08:59 PM) Name THIS one! "I always like to consider us the world's most popular cult band." Why I believe that quote came from an obscure musician named Geddy Lee who was the front man for a little known band out of Canada called Rush. For some reason, a documentary was made about them called "Beyond the Lighted Stage" and I guess they had the most consecutive gold/platinum albums behind some guys named the Beatles and Stones.
  7. QUOTE (Rushchick10 @ Apr 23 2010, 04:11 PM) Ditto. Good tune, but lets give it a rest and insert Afterimage
  8. QUOTE (Score Out @ Apr 21 2010, 10:19 PM) A lot of posts at this one, so a few items of clarification: * Moving Pictures will be played consecutively, in order - not sprinkled throughout the set. * All the songs are in the same set * There's no drum solo during YYZ Gee thanks. I didn't know you were planning the set list with the band
  9. I'd rather hear them played tuned down a 1/2 or whole step (i.e. changing the key from E to E flat or D) than not hear them at all
  10. Count me in with the "NO OPENING ACT!!!" crowd. I like the Evening with Rush format. The only thing I would like to change is to make it a 4 hour show
  11. QUOTE (KennethRush @ Apr 17 2010, 09:38 PM) And damn, now I'm even more curious to find out who that little f*cker is running around following smokey. You and me both...and about 10 million other people
  12. QUOTE (hazlnut @ Apr 15 2010, 08:11 PM) QUOTE (EmotionDetector @ Apr 15 2010, 11:27 AM) QUOTE (metaldad @ Apr 15 2010, 11:13 AM) QUOTE (iluvgeddy05 @ Apr 14 2010, 07:25 PM) I sold on stubhub... seems legit to me. Never bought though; I'm too chicken.. You will not have a problem, as long as you have a boat load of cash to spend:lol: I don't get it...STUB HUB already has tickets up for the Toronto shows even before they've gone on sale. They want over $700 for tickets in Row 35! Just be patient. They will come down... They are testing the market. The brilliance of stubhub is there isn't the price fixing that goes on with brokers. A handfull of average fans can bring the prices down fast by offering their extra seats just above/below face. Agreed. Patience is the key with these sites. If you can stand the wait, many times you can swing a nice deal.
  13. QUOTE (Mara @ Apr 13 2010, 02:00 PM) I'm not expecting much posting in this thread because I figure a lot of people want to keep this info on the down-low. But I thought I'd ask anyway. . . I've heard good and bad about stubhub.com. Any others worthwhile? I have had nothing but good experiences with Stubhub. As a matter of fact, when tickets for the shows near me go on sale, I plan on buying some and then logging onto stubhub to see if an upgrade is doable.
  14. QUOTE (KennethRush @ Apr 13 2010, 01:32 PM) I heard the soundtrack is good, is this true? If you like '80s rock, then yes. Otherwise, I'd say no.
  15. I think Mick is similar to Ace Frehley. Neither one is a fretboard wizard, but both were/are perfect fits for their bands. Micks riffs are a huge part of the Crue's songs and they wouldn't be the same without them. Same with Ace and KISS. There is just something about the style of each guitarist that clicks with that particular band.
  16. QUOTE (ILSnwdog @ Apr 11 2010, 05:46 PM) QUOTE (RUSHHEAD666 @ Apr 11 2010, 01:05 AM) If you are over 40 you will laugh your fukking arse off. Hell I was a senior in high school back in 1986. This is the best comedy I have seen since "Airplane!" Really? Better than the Hangover? IMO, no, not better than Hangover. But it is really funny if you lived through the '80s.
  17. Saw this last weekend with Mrs. Snow (who was a reluctant participant) and we both loved it!
  18. QUOTE (trenken @ Apr 11 2010, 11:16 AM) I thought this was a will neil smile thread during any of the shows, which the answer of course would be no. I always see a smile or two out of Neil during a show.
  19. QUOTE (HigherWater @ Apr 9 2010, 09:28 PM) QUOTE (EmotionDetector @ Apr 8 2010, 08:27 AM) I think the question is, will they be playing MP all in order, or just splitting up the tracks throughout the show?! I think it would be cool for them to do it all in one shot...like the album. Either finish the first set with it...or open up the second half with it. Either way, that would be f'n sweet! My gut tells me that they're going to play it straight through. Maybe start the second set with it. YYZ for the Drum Solo fits well into the program that way--And F@#K that would be so retro-cool, especially if he played an updated version of the traditional YYZ solo--Anyway, I'm dreaming now. To all of you that are actually bitching about this tour and its set....Ah, crap! I don't even know what to say. This is going to be a celebration of OUR band and our bands greatest achievement and if you want to stay in the background and play " I'M THE ULTIMATE RUSH NERD"than be my guest-- Too the rest of you, I'LL SEE YOU AT THE SHOW. I am so psyched! HW I posted this in another thread, but I'll reiterate here. Others told me there was no way Rush would ever break up MP throughout the set, while I maintained it wouldn't surprise me at all if they did. Why? They're Rush for crying out loud. When have they ever done what was wanted or expected by others? They ALWAYS do things their own way. Also, they know the fans have been pleading for TCE for years, they finally found a way to play the song in a way that pleases them, so why let everyone know whats coming up next? I can easily see the first set ending with something from any album and the second set opening with TCE and the place just exploding with excitement. Thats why it wouldn't surprise me at all. Personally, I'd rather hear it broken up so you don't know whats coming next. Why would they break it up throughout the set? Because they're Rush and they don't do what is expected, but rather what makes THEM happy.
  20. Its in the works. These things take time though. Our admins are toiling diligently to make this happen, so take a minute and thank them when its up and running.
  21. QUOTE (ReRushed @ Apr 8 2010, 06:47 PM) QUOTE (Snowdog @ Apr 8 2010, 05:45 PM) The band said MP would be played in its entirety. Not necessarily consecutively in the original running order. My guess is MP will be broken up throughout the set. I don't think so. The current zeitgeist is for bands to play their classic album from beginning to end. Why would Rush do any different? Because they are Rush after all, and they never do what is expected, but rather do things their own way.
  22. The band said MP would be played in its entirety. Not necessarily consecutively in the original running order. My guess is MP will be broken up throughout the set.
  23. QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Apr 5 2010, 05:49 PM) QUOTE (ReRushed @ Apr 5 2010, 04:21 PM) Episode 4 was the best one, so far. It's getting better. I'm hooked. Same here, and next week's ep looks to be excellent. I like it, just not as much as BoB. Maybe by the end, I will. Lets see.
  24. QUOTE (Alex @ Mar 28 2010, 08:57 PM) "Our Fans Are Overly-Critical Self-Centere Douche Bags" tour. Because thats what most of us are displaying now. Bravo. I was thinking the the "Our Fans Are Cynical, Whining Babies" Tour, but I like yours better.
