QUOTE (SchemingDemon @ Jun 26 2012, 05:58 PM) Rush ripping off Nirvana? maybe? I would call it more tribute? I think at the end of Carnies I swear that last guitar riff sounds like the end of The Ace of Spades
  2. Easily on par with any other Rush classic over the years. By itself it has bits and pieces of all the era's if you listen close enough, they are there.
  3. QUOTE (Ancient Ways @ Jan 26 2012, 07:10 PM) Linkin Park, Queen, Papa Roach? Yes, Queen for sure. Lots of pure heavy metal riffs and fills all over early Queen. Listen to the Prophet song, the middle jam split they rock and stone cold crazy (that Metallica covered).
  4. 2 of em in mount vernon washington
  5. Geddy was on fire on the July 2 Show at the Gorge. As it was the last show of the tour, Geddy said he as not leaving anything out there and he sure showed it. He just burned up his bass on the end of Leave That Thing Alone.
  6. whatever they want to play to keep them interested in playing live while tossing in a few standards here and there I'm good to go. count your blessing each and every tour
  7. QUOTE (cheech44 @ Jan 27 2011, 01:02 PM)thanks -- wanted to make sure my little guy would have an unobstructed view from the front of the 200s. any recommendations on how early to get there prior to the show to deal with parking, etc? The gorge is out in the middle of nowhere, 2 lane county/country roads in and out. Parking is in huge fields and as said earlier can be dusty in the drier months. I would suggest you target to be there as much as 2 hours early just to be sure. I've only attended the one Rush show at the Gorge so my experience is based on that only. We rented a hotel room in nearby Moses Lake. This time my daughter lives in the Wenatchee area so we'll just drive to her house after.
  8. QUOTE (cheech44 @ Jan 27 2011, 12:37 PM) question about gorge seating -- are the 200 sections as portrayed on the Live Nation seating map? i.e. there's a defined aisle between the 100 & 200 sections? Or is it just one big slab of seats that arbitrarily becomes the 200 section once you're a certain distance back from the stage? there is a railing between the 100 and 200 series seats. and there is a railing/bulkhead wall between the 200 and grass seating areas. each area is clearly defined.
  9. I saw the last S&A show at the gorge. The venue is fantastic. It was very windy that night causing the hanging speakers to sway and twist, it had a bit of an affect on the sound quality but overall, for me it was a good show. I look forward to seeing them there again
  10. whats the deal on MP anyway? any tour setlist has to include Tom Sawyer, YYZ and Limelight and then every other tour they would do Red Barchetta so really, they are always almost there anyhow. And then to the folks who cried for years for The Camera Eye, here you go, two tours in a row. We should all be grateful they are going back out on such an aggressive schedule and I am excited to see the revamped list with whatever they decide to change out slightly to freshen up the show including anything else from A Clockwork Angel... I'm juiced
  11. Sorry, most of you younger members will never know the excitement I had today. I'm an older member of the board having been on the bands wagon since 1978 and as I progressed through my adult years I passed along the love of Rush to my kids. Today, that came back in spades when my daughter called me to inform me that on presale for the July 2 show at the Gorge Amphitheater in George, Washington we have section 101 row 15 Seats 9-12. Remember to pass along the joys of your life to your kids and someday they will reward you...afterall, I've footed the cost of the tickets for the last 4 shows.... We're there, anyone else?
  12. for me its easier to add what I don't have. test for echo is not on vinyl, i don't have it....
  13. maybe next tour = yeah, i'll get back to you
  14. QUOTE (LeaveMyThingAlone @ Aug 25 2010, 10:51 AM) is going on at Red Rocks? Some really weird stories. Just when we think we have one cleared up THANKS to Nobody's Hero, another one is started.. Sorry, but this just doesn't make sense. Why in the worls would security support this if they were sold illegaly? And who is this scalper to tell YOU and Security what they had to do so that his illegal seats could be accomodated? Bizarre... its called kickback....do the math. $600 per ticket? 20-30 seats? up to 18k. a few bucks to the head of security and your still way ahead
