It's got a slight bit of a 'throwback' vibe, certainly more than S&A or VT. But at the same time, like any new Rush album, they find a way to add new emotion, and a new feel to it and make it more relevant for this particular time and year. Certainly the longer songs, and some extended 'jams' within some of the songs are definitely throwback ideas. The 'concept' idea could also be considered a throwback as well. Bottom line for me is, it works and I'm happy with the album. Definitely.
