  1. And the NYC show has 7 different Pre-Sale times. I would imagine they need an allotment for every one of them. Can be frustrating.
  2. I don't think the NYC show will have any problem selling tickets. The first Pre-Sale allotment sold right away and it looks like there were maybe 300 people ahead of me waiting.
  3. My 2 cent's -- which probably isn't even worth that when it comes to Rush predictions. The CA song will rotate. Camera Eye -- 1/2 version only. Definitely an R40 Medley somewhere. Maybe a second medley as well. Very surprised The Garden is not listed after Geddy talking about it for the last few years. Big Money, Far Cry, OLV --love them all but not necessary to see them again now Too many other unplayed classics I will probably love the set list when finally revealed.
  4. There are no guarantees so I would not wait for a show. But I don't think there is any reason to believe that this will be any different than the last 2 tours. The length is about the same as he last four tour legs. Doubt they would rev this whole engine up for 35 shows. Four to five months of work this year -- then a long break. Do it again next year. Then we can really start worrying about the end of touring. I hope I'm right - but you ever know.
  5. Posted this in another Thread but meant to put it here: Interesting line on the Press Release: “After 40 years together and 20 gold and platinum studio albums – Rush is ready to celebrate with the most loyal fans in the world by embarking on their 21st tour, one which will most likely be their last major tour of this magnitude. Celebrate four decades of music with three incredible musicians – all in 1 night.” Sorry to read it but not unexpected, I guess. Doesn't say Last Tour so that's good. Future is unwritten.

  7. I'm privy to a date near the end of May in the South so I'm sure Columbus won't be the first show -- cant say anymore. Hope we get the announcement soon!!
  8. Picked this up yesterday. Didn't see this version mentioned on the board -- figured I would put it up for those that are interested. Good for real fans to have a shot at it before it disappears. Description Neil Peart - Far and Near Limited Edition Hardcover has its own charcoal grey cloth slipcase adorned with a silver stamp of Neil's drumhead logo. Inside the book is a limited edition bookplate that is autographed by Neil Peart. Each book is also hand numbered out of 500. ** Only 500 of these Limited Edition hardcovers were produced** . Get your hands on this rarity before it sells out! http://www.rushbacks...-hardcover.html
  9. I don't recall reading that anywhere - would love to see a link if possible. IMHO, I don't see Rush changing format. Shortening a bit but no opening band. Makes no sense for them unless they feel they need it to draw more fans. Don't need it.
  10. I posted this on another board yesterday -- Was lucky enough to get a physical cd yesterday: "I picked up the album a couple hours ago -- 5 songs in. I was a little unprepared for how drastic it would be. The album still has balls - but the layers and separation are now so distinct. If you didn't enjoy the layers/overdubs before - this may not be for you. I loved VT already and wasn't expecting my attitude to change much -- but this really takes it to another level." I have been through the album a couple times now - didn't like a few bits but for the most part really enjoyed. Still picking up new bits. Definitely a new view of VT. Will be replaying for a while. Money well spent!
  11. Always still some Independents that sell early. I haven't bought a Rush album on it's street date since Power Windows. I may be naïve but I figure there are many, many places to buy early in large cities and their suburbs.

  13. I haven't seen any reports on where VIP ticket holders ended up -- very curious. Please let us know how you did. Thanks!
  14. I think they are keeping these legs short and planning to World Tour R40. Just my perception -- obviously could be wrong.
  15. QUOTE (Lost In Xanadu @ Sep 17 2012, 03:19 PM) QUOTE (eshine @ Sep 17 2012, 02:08 PM) The Chicago show was not just one of the best Rush shows I have ever seen (and its been over 40) but one of the best concerts I have ever attended. The place was packed, the band was completely warmed up and ready - and the crowd was totally into it from start to finish, giving the entire presentation of the new album a rousing reception. Anyone who claims anything to the contrary is lying or wasnt there. In the upper deck (300s) not many people were standing, but around me, there was a lot of air drumming. The ~20yr old down the row from me was one of the worst I had ever seen, but who cares, he was into it. Agree with Lost in Xanadu re Chicago Not the MOST enthusiastic crowd I've ever seen but still totally into it and crowded and loving it.
