  1. To have some level of organization it’s necessary to have the place subdivided by topic. Do these ideas divide people or just add more topics? I’m not sure.
  2. When they were huge the only person I knew that was into them was my girlfriends 13 yo sister. They were a teeny bopper band and a joke.
  3. There are those that worship rush here and those that have fallen from the pure faith. We even have those that dare question the great Neil pearl. The whole form seems religious at times.
  4. Deadpan, sarcastic bill or cocaine crazed robin? Bill
  5. I’ve been very fortunate I guess. I saw porcupine tree before the end and I’ve never seen Bon Jovi.
  6. I’m not personally affected but I feel bad for the families of the younger ones like Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington. Leaving kids behind is tough to handle.
  7. If they’re done why is there a promotional app? What are they promoting?
  8. Can’t pick from 94/95/96. Too many great albums those three years. I was 28,29,30. Some great albums came out when I was in high school but my collection was basically 1966-1984 so no one year killed me like the mid 90s.
  9. Nina Simone is not a huge star. She is/was a talented singer, but was never all that well known. Then you’ll be happy to hear Bon Jovi is also nominated. Not very artistic, but well known enough. I’d rather listen to Nina.
  10. If you don’t know Nina learn quick. She’s amazing. It’s actually a pretty strong list.
  11. The explanation of what you’re looking for is confusing.
  12. You know this was 12years ago,right?
  13. So it’s a cute way of saying Neil and ozzy got high?
  14. Slayer has a lot of mediocre material, and their best stuff is a little more than just an acquired taste. You almost have to study and try to understand it before you can start enjoying it. At least that was my experience with them. However I just have to disagree with you about Zep and the Beatles. If we're thinking a little more "objectively" for a second (noting that music taste is inherently subjective, though generalizations can hold some truth), The Beatles and Led Zep are easily two of the most influential artists in music history. Maybe not so much as Mozart or Bach, but compared to the vast majority of their peers, and many from generations earlier and later, the contributions and effects they've had on music is beyond undeniable, it's just factual information. Now, obviously influence alone does not make quality art, but it is a sign that work may have some intrinsic value, whether or not it appeals to you. You really have to look at things in terms of not just what you like, but what was the artist's intention in making the musical choices they did, and how well did they accomplish they're intentions, meet or exceed their audience's expectations. That said, The Bealtes and Led Zep easily have two of the greatest catalogues in music history. They did exactly what they wanted, influencing nearly everybody in the process, often exceeding their own hype and eventually turning themselves from critical fodder to the critics' pets. You don't have to like it, but to deny it has any quality is going a few steps too far. Zep = very talented with all kinds of output but when they were great they were amazing. Beatles = not technically talented but a great knack for songwriting and melody with a lot of great output in multiple genres.
  15. Who says Metallica is the greatest metal band? I certainly don’t. I’d go with sabbath or maiden first right off the top of my head.
  16. I just want to know what this Dream Theater "sound" is. It just sounds like a sterile, soulless mesh of classic rock, prog and metal thrown together like a bunch of jigzaw puzzles and pieced together to sound like anything...but individual. Some bands, derivative is fine. But DT? It really bugs me how creative they are but always sound...copy and paste. Sometimes they suit my mood but the lack of personality and the truly soulless feel leaves me cold. I find them quite ugly but on paper they are hard to discredit. Again I can enjoy them but the moment I had with them burned out fast. Thread says talented. Can’t deny their musicianship
  17. Almost any super group but I have to go dream theater. How those guys decided Labrie was a fitting vocalist for their band is beyond me.
  18. Exactly. This isn’t unusual. There are two choices; show your backside to the crowd or walk backwards. Snarky? Quit asking questions if you’re going to tell us how to answer.
  19. If you’ve ever walked forward on a stage that has a drop off you’re going to have to walk backwards at some point or you’ll end up in the crowd. Possibly injured.
