  1. So this band has an extra dude than Jelly Jam. How different can they be?
  2. I have been listening to Kansas a bit lately. Always thought they were very solid with a lot of solid "non-radio hit" songs.
  3. RTB is my 2nd least favorite Rush album. My dislike of Heresy knocks it down quite a bit in my ratings. And while i do enjoy "You Bet Your Life" and "Face Up", they also keep RTB from being ranked higher. Dreamline is a monster tune. The Big Wheel is in my Top 15 Rush songs. Digging the thread!!!
  4. I'm surprised. I don't think I've ever heard anyone say they didn't like the lyrics. First time for everything Where's the cheese here...? I turn my back to the wind To catch my breath, Before I start off again. Driven on, Without a moment to spend To pass an evening With a drink and a friend I let my skin get too thin I'd like to pause, No matter what I pretend Like some pilgrim- Who learns to transcend- Learns to live As if each step was the end Time stand still- I'm not looking back But I want to look around me now See more of the people And the places that surround me now Freeze this moment a little bit longer Make each sensation a little bit stronger Experience slips away... I turn my face to the sun Close my eyes. Let my defences down- All those wounds That I can't get unwound I let my past go too fast No time to pause- If I could slow it all down Like some captain, Whose ship runs aground- I can wait until the tide comes around Make each impression a little bit stronger Freeze this motion a little bit longer The innocence slips away... Summer's going fast, Nights growing colder Children growing up- Old friends growing older Experience slips away... You know, that song has some great lyrics. I let my past go too fast No time to pause- If I could slow it all down Like some captain, Whose ship runs aground- Seems like Captain Obvious stuff to me. Doesn't pretty much everybody say this to themselves at least 1000 times in their lifetimes? And THAT is what makes the lyrics connect with the listener. One of my all time favorite songs from a lyrical standpoint. AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME.
  5. Have no cheese to add, but am happy to meet another Middletown Dreams loather. Never understood the hype over it. One of my favorite song lyrics. The entire song just speaks to me about those desires we have and what we want out of life, but just dont have the wherewithal to go after them...for any number of reasons. It's the 'Dreams flow across the heartland' that makes me cringe. I expected better from Neil. I love that line.

  11. I love, love love Dog Years so i choose to think that your review of the song is awful! :) I also love Totem and Virtuality. Also, where would you rank Test for Echo? The song is great. The album is around 15 for me.

  13. Great choice...Pat Benatar doesn't get mentioned enough around here. What a great voice. And Giraldo was a very good guitarist.
  14. As for the Yestival set list: Cool that they played a song from each album, but man what a short set list. I guess it is because these dudes are old, but how about a few more tunes?
