    Rush Collection

That depends. It can only be as complete as you want it to be.
  2. I always thought Janis would've done a great version of Here Again... I guy I used to work with 25 years ago thought it was Janis Joplin on Here Again! I had just taped a copy of the double album to listen to while at work having just bought it and he was fooled when he walked by when it was playing. I never forgot that becuase I never made that connection until then. By the way, some may not know that by some incredible luck, Neils first show with the band is out there (8/14/74 Pittsburgh). It doesn't sound nearly as good and it's only about 25 minutes because they opened for Manfred Mann and Uriah Heep, but it's out there for those that enjoy that stuff.
  3. It's pretty cool. Definately unique. I'm not as big a fan of it as some people and I only got around to getting it around 20 years ago. The odd size makes it impossible to put it in with the other 45s.
  4. I'm intersted to find out what the source is for this recording. If its MP3s, like the ABC release is said to be, then its useless to me. If not, I may be interested to add this to the half-dozen or so other recordings of this that I have.
  5. Never been a favorite of mine either, but I was interested in its origins.
  6. I sure wouldn't have minded seeing The Flock. I hadn't really heard them until I bought their CD about 15 years ago because I read on the back that Jerry Goodman was in the band.
  7. Yeah that name came up. Someone, maybe Lillywhite, was going to do the job and then backed out right at the beginning of the recording sessions. Rush went ahead on their own and Grace Under Pressure was already underway when Henderson stepped in. This is why someone in the band needs to write a book. This whole era would make for interesting reading. I used to assume Neil would write it, but he doesn't seem to be in any hurry or he's waiting to write it after they retire. They should maybe take the Beatles Anthology or U2 By U2 approach to it. All three of them can do it. Except that I wouldn't bet on anyone in the band wanting to take on such a project. It's been a while since I pulled it off the shelf, but I think Jon Collins' Chemistry might be the closest that we get to finding out what really happened during this period.
  8. i was at that show. I had a really bad bootleg from this show. Worst bootleg I've ever had...unlistenable. Distortion everywhere. Booming bass. Distant. Everything that could possibly be wrong. I think it's the only bootleg I've ever recorded over. Have about a half dozen bandanas, but none from the Grace Under Pressure tour. I do have that huge photo tapestry from that tour though.
  9. The only one I'd be willing to part with is a bootleg I picked up outside the venue, but it just has the cities -- no dates.
  10. Page 41 of "RUSH The Illustrated history" has an image of a tour pass with that design. And the same image appears on the back cover of the book .http://www.amazon.co...ader_0760343640 Thanks for the link. I plan to pick up the book eventually. Looks like the shirt was something you'd buy outside of the venue rather than inside. Maybe the image was only on passes.
  11. This is a gray market release of the bootleg (Just like that ABC 1974 release) The live Vital Signs track is the B-side from the New World Man single. It was never commercially released on CD, but I do have it on an ABC Radio Networks hour long CD program called The Live Show which aired the week of 2/13/1989 or around the time A Show Of Hands was released. This St. Louis show is among the top 5 most widely distributed Rush bootlegs and should be very easy to find. There are many (myself included) that enjoy this recording even more than Exit...Stage Left for a number of reasons.
  12. The only thing wrong with this album is that Clockwork Angels came after it and that's unfortunate.
  13. I'll admit to having this poster on my wall...
  14. No...but could that have been a confusion with the Max Webster album "Live Magnetic Air" released around that time? Edit...I didn't read the other responses to this. I'm still inclined to believe the reviewer may have made a mistake. Though it's certainly possible it was used after Rush rejected it given how close both bands were at the time.
  15. If that's true, there is a bootleg show to go along with the pictures. From November 27, 1974 if I'm not mistaken. The quality of the recording isn't too great though, but it's not as bad as Neil's first show with the band.
  16. Well there's a quasi reference book called "Merely Players" published in 2002 that lists that concert date as Rush having played it. But the book is ridden with a myriad of errors so it's possible that this could be another one. The unfortunate thing is that people that come across this book accept the information in it to be accurate and in this particular instance that is not the case. Not to take this thread off topic, but that book was HORRIBLE! The fact that they even published it with the word "Merely" spelled wrong is just the beginning! The fact checkers were definately MIA with this book.
  17. Thanks. It occurs to me now that I may have an overseas pressing similar to that. I'm pretty sure it's not from New Zealand though.

    relive the past

Thanks. I have most of these already, but it's good to have them on the computer when I'm not near the stereo.
  19. The road case on the left alludes to their next album (A Show Of Hands.) I always thought that was cool. The cover for the Prime Mover enlarges the image of that. It's a lot easier to spot these things if you have the album handy.
  20. I love those Canadian copies. They didn't have to wash out "Dewei Defeats Truman." If I'm not mistaken, I think there might be some cover variations on the "Lee, Lifeson and Peart" signs that may have slipped through too.
  21. Wow! Ebay really cracks me up.Sounds like the stamps probably got marked up too! I did the same (except for the print. Reasonably priced, but I didn't think it was all that outstanding, so I'm going to do some sketches and see if I can come up with a more appealing design for myself.) I got a couple of postscards too, but they didn't seem that attractive to me.
  22. I'm just wondering if anyone has any more recollections about this...
  23. These are AWESOME photos. Thanks for sharing. I really hate that red lighting on the Moving Pictures tour
  24. Exactly. That's one reason why I sing every word. Nobody's going to hear it. The dancing is another story....
