I don't have the pics to share here. But I've got the entire catalogue framed in LP size. I used kinkos to make 12-1/4x12-1/4 prints of Rush in Rio and SnA Live. For all the others, I've either got the original LP cover (MP still sealed), or I was able to find LP-sized promo posters. I've got some signed photos that I snuck backstage at Mohegan Sun and left with Tony Geranios. A pick I was given by Howard U. in Las Vegas in '96. A photo of Geddy signing my HYF tour book in SLC in '97. A Tshirt thrown from Alex at SLC in 2010, and another shot from Neil's cannon at SLC in 2013

I've spent my first afternoon back here in years reading about all ye hate for Neil. Yet no one has really touched on Alex's arthritis issue. This board's setup doesn't allow me to post a pic as easily as on CP. I was going to post a pic of my pointer and ring fingers on my left hand, which are permanently bent from psoriatic arthritis. Luckily, I'm a bass player so I can still manage. I can play most of the things I could before, except songs like Turn The Page, or any other song that requires one finger to bar 2 strings. The point is, if I were a guitarist, I'd be finished. My fingers make it impossible to play most chords. Alex is 15 years older than me. If his situation is anything like mine, I completely understand his reluctance to continue as well.

I was fresh out of college in '91 with a Music Ed degree. I had to do something with it.

In the beginning, a 5-minute song would take about 3 hours to transcribe. Eventually I developed a shorthand method to save the time of rewriting 16 or 32 bars of script just because Geddy played a note or 2 differently from verse to verse. I distinctly remember Hemispheres taking alllllll dayyyyyy. Most of these were done using cassettes as the source material.

I give CP a year at most. FJ is getting grumpier and grumpier. The whole geddysmoog shitfest pissed off a lot of people, some of whom haven't come back. Add that to the folks who never came back after the last crash and it's definitely twilight over there.

Then this year I found out the (now ex)drummer for my new band was working for DW in LA at the time and was also at that party. He saw Neil and his wife but never spoke to them. I pm'd her about it during the mechanic thread and also called her on being Neil's wife. She said yes to both.

My thoughts are pretty much the same as yours and no offence but reading that quote on Robin Williams kinda bummed me out! It's hard to understand people picking on Peart when assholes like Gene walk the earth.. And ya, the Rush boys surely distanced themselves from the 'stupid circus' as evidenced by Gene's comment "what the f**k did they do in their hotels rooms after the show??" Uh maybe educated themselves with books? Talked to their families on the phone? Wrote some thoughtful music that wasn't about retarded sexual metaphors and screwing sixteen year olds.. Judging by Neil's lyrics, he could've used a little hotel room pussy in those early years.

I don't see what the big deal is. Something tells me that if most of the people got to actually know Neil, they'd think he was a real dweeb, day job notwithstanding.
