You're definitely not the only one to notice it. I've heard it for years...no clue as to what's being said. It's a great song.

Yup, crazy indeed.

You start with questioning the motives of those who are telling you there's a war within you. Perhaps their reasons are relatively banal, perhaps they think they are more enlightened than most and enjoy throwing their alleged superiority in other peoples' faces, or perhaps their reasons are more sinister and they hope to profit by sewing the seeds of self-doubt.

Yes, those works of fiction are distinctly appropriate.

Hmmm...I thought the new book was supposed to be non-fiction.

My friend Charles approves of this thread.

I don't have a need for Rush to be atheists, but I do have a need for those claiming intellectual/spiritual/emotional superiority to have a firm grasp of the rules of grammar.

Yes, me. My next time in the box will be #6. Three more to go!

Asking questions is easy, but will you provide knowledgeable answers?

My money's on Alex. He's carrying quite a bit of extra weight.

I'm re-reading Finding Darwin's God, by Ken Miller. Miller is a molecular/cellular biologist and a Catholic who spends the first part of his book defending Darwinism from religious-oriented attacks. The 2nd half of the book is how one can be fully in support of evolution and also be a devout believer. He has an interesting place for where to find "Darwin's God".

Shit, Neil doesn't even claim to be third-hand grace in the song, so the premise of the OP is already in the ditch. He says "my third-hand grace", so it's something he has, not something he is.

Did Ged ever have the "Window to the World" opened to him?
JARG replied to Second Hand Grace's topic in Rush
We talking LSD? I think Ged talked about dropping acid in his book...but I've slept since reading it, so... -

How can you prove a psychic connection?

Interesting that the drums came last given that you're a drummer. I don't think the lack of guitar hurts the song in any way (and that's saying something coming from me!). Are you using a physical synth, or plugins?

Waiter, I'd like some dressing with my word salad.

A lovely song. The drum fill that brings in the last chorus had a slight "In The Air Tonight" feel. What are all the instruments used in the song? In what order did you build up the song, trackwise? Did you start with the drum track?

TMV Drummer Philo Tsoungui hears Limelight for the first time ever!
JARG replied to Entre_Perpetuo's topic in Rush
I bet it took more than 5 takes for Neil to compose that perfect drum part, and I bet he got feedback from his fellow composers as he went along. -

Very cool take. She followed the vocals for the punches. -
What's the most emotional passage in a Rush song for you?
JARG replied to condemned2bfree's topic in Rush
D-minor, the saddest of all keys. -
How else is she going to get men to notice her?
