  1. QUOTE (Cygnals @ Jun 11 2012, 04:20 PM) QUOTE (GUP1771 @ Jun 11 2012, 05:10 PM) Thanks for the link! Watching the live video now! Yep, me too. At first I thought it was James Hetfield interviewing them--kind of looks like him. Yes! Man, I was thinking that he looked like someone...just couldn't pull the name out of my head!
  2. I've only heard the 3 official releases and the title track that's being streamed on Rush's FaceBook page. Love what I've heard so far, and am pretty encouraged by the overall reception the whole CD is getting from folks who have heard it all. Looking forward to Tuesday!
  3. With the new Usher album also dropping on June 12, there is no way in hell CA will take #1.
  4. Here Or go to the main Rush FaceBook page (Www.facebook.com/rushtheband) and click on New Music. Having only heard the 30-second Walmart clip...WOW! ...and yes, I did see a reference to this buried in another thread, but thought it deserved it's own.
  5. Sounds like maybe this should be the next radio release? I'm saving myself for the 12th, but just saying' based on what I've read here...
  6. 30 second clips? Sure. 90 second clips that may appear in iTunes sometime between now and the 12th? Sure. Download a leak of the full Monty? Not a chance. I can wait a week.
  7. Well, you are a stronger man than I. No way that I could stay away from the clips...and I'll be all over the inevitable 90 second snippets that will pop up on iTunes sometime between now and the 12th. I will, however, try to stay spoiler-free when it comes to the tour this fall. I'm seeing them in Chicago on 9/15, so will only need to hold out for a week.
  8. Is it just me, or is The Garden (last 10 secs or so of sample) reminiscent of Slipping and Still from MFH?
  9. HOLY MOTHERF**$$# HELL!!! (...kidding...)
  10. Loved Geddy's comments about Dads, Moms and kids in the crowd. "...why does that kid not have earplugs on? Why is that guy holding a baby up? Put the baby down! Leave the building with the baby immediately! There are about six people every night that I want to scold - what is wrong with you? This is cruel and inhumane treatment of children!" I'm sure tongue was partially planted in cheek, but this is no place for a baby, and any other kids definitely MUST be wearing earplugs!!
  11. QUOTE (Rush-O-Matic @ May 29 2012, 10:35 AM) ?!?! Geddy, re: Vapor Trails "Our plan is to remix it. We've always planned to remix it, for years; our sound engineer, Rich Chycki, is working on that right now. It's our intention to have it as a bonus on the release of this album." No way that's going to happen. Is that why the CA album price is more than $9.99? Can't be. I think this bit was from Alex, not Geddy...and pretty much contradicts what Geddy has said in a recent interview... Would be cool, but is highly unlikely. That Alex sure does like to say stuff in interviews that never seems to come true.
  12. QUOTE (Gilbertk @ May 29 2012, 06:06 AM) Well according to Amazon, it's available. http://www.amazon.com/Clockwork-Angels-Rus...38289557&sr=8-1 It shows it as "Temporarily Out Of Stock"...big surprise, since it's not out yet.
  13. QUOTE (Rush-O-Matic @ May 24 2012, 08:39 AM) QUOTE (The Mighty Dudad @ May 24 2012, 08:34 AM) QUOTE (rushgoober @ May 23 2012, 06:54 PM)QUOTE (Shredder2 @ May 23 2012, 04:46 PM) It'll be interesting, which is most likely the reason to why I'm anticipating this album so damn much. They've always did concept songs, but never a concept album. I'm glad they've stated that they made an effort to make the songs stand alone as well. Sometimes songs on concept albums don't work out of context. This is pretty key, actually. While CA is certainly built around a central theme/story lyrically (if everything we've read is to be believed), Geddy has said in more than one interview that they took great care to maintain a level of "independence" for the songs, wanting to make sure they stand alone. With the possible exception, based on the title, of BU2B2, we're not going to hear repeating musical themes. With Caravan kicking off the whole thing, there's clearly no 2112-esque overture, no 2112-esque grand finale, etc. So, Concept Album in the sense of a lyrical story/thread linking the songs together? Yup. Concept Album in the sense of repeating musical motifs, "one long song", etc.? No likely. Hey...just realized: Clockwork Angels = Concept Album C. A. = C. A. I guess it really is a concept album! Oh, great. You've just made the connection the new album will be caca. More ammo for the haters.

  15. or perhaps this? http://teegod.co.uk/system/images/2236/original/hiphopclockt-shirt_1_113924_black-gold-glitter-print_l.jpg
  16. I wonder if they'll take advantage of two nights in Toronto to film for the DVD. Some compelling reasons to do so: 1. Home town! 2. Film both nights and choose the best performances for the final DVD 3. The Toronto dates are only 5 weeks into the tour...long enough to get into fine mid-tour form, but not too long to get a bit rote and for Geddy's voice to show end-of-tour strain. I guess we'll see...

  18. http://cdn.head-fi.org/3/36/36507fd1_Awesome5B15D.jpg This thread has kept me entertained all day! It has EVERYTHING. Drama, Mystery, Comedy, a Life-affirming Message, etc. Can't wait for the sequel!
  19. QUOTE (Tigershark2112 @ May 11 2012, 11:03 AM) Like I said, Rush are CANADIAN. And as the number 3 references go, how about the Hold Your Fire album cover, just off hand? There's a million more, but that's the most obvious. - 3 little connecting toy thingamabobs on the Different Stages cover - Hold Your Fire cover (as stated) & the juggler juggling 3 balls of fire on the inside (back??) - 3 rabbits at the top of the hill on the Presto cover - 3 arches and 3 pictures being moved on the Moving Picutres cover - 3 TV sets on the Power Windows cover - The overwhelming number of dice showing 3 on the RTB cover (not to mention the 3 flying wish bones) - Vapor Trails "brought to you by the letter 3" [yes, letter] etc.
