  1. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder Not a Gary Moore fan then? I like both guitarists. Wipe the floor? High school album for me. On my turntable often, along with Blind Faith. Clapton's solo in Do What You Like to chilling, to me. http://youtu.be/kBHh2d4zhV8 Don't get me wrong, Clapton was (and to a certain degree still is) a great guitarist, but not with the same depth and versatility of Gary Moore. Most people identifywith Gary's work as a bluesman, or his hard rock stuff, but his work with the band Colosseum II is sometimes forgotten ..... jazz rock of the highest level.
  2. I posted that last comment only a few moments ago, but i suddenly realise how things like this thread make TRF an important place to be part of, and how much i wish i had joined a long time ago.
  3. This little film really resonates with my feelings on music, and what music means to me. But mostly it makes me realise how much I miss Neil Peart.
  4. Very nice indeed!! What a poignant ending!!
  5. Budokan for me ..... it really broke them in the UK ...... a great live album
  6. Love of my life Uriah Heep - Demons and Wizards
  7. I agree with all 5 of your wants!!! ... - I have tried to get at least 1 live show from every tour - Only caveats ... must be complete show and must be soundboard I think the 5 points you have made are exactly what i would need to complete my list! (although PeW has been a compromise ... I made a composite show with the help of the new live tracks, I also have St. Louis but it is not complete). All other tours are covered. So hopeful that next year an entire MP show will be delivered ... but ... i am fearing the worst .... a mish-mash of tracks from different shows.
  8. Now let me see .... Def Leppard .... decent hard rock band, some great albums, guitarist from good old N. Ireland v The Police .... a pop band with a few decent pop songs and a complete w*nker as a lead vocalist ....... hmmmmmm ..... tricky one this!
  9. They will sell us complete shows in a couple of years. I'm certain. I wish I could be as certain as you are. Hmmm .... i hope so .... I'll buy. TBH what we really need are complete soundboard shows from the Moving Pictures & Signals tours .... There ain't any out there.
  10. Definitely the same version as 2112 Deluxe recorded in Manchester. The version on Exit i believe was from Glasgow.
  11. Oh yeah!!! .... Old Gary could have wiped the floor with Clapton. Hard to believe all three have passed away now .... must be one hell of a gig in heaven right now!!
  12. TBH ... i struggled a bit with them ..bits i liked, bits i didn't. But certainly not dull. In a strange way they remind me of XTC ..... again another band i could only like in part. According to the music mag i get, The Lickerish Quartet (who i believe consist of members of Jellyfish) are making new stuff ..... donno if that is of interest to you?
  13. No one has yet been able to tell me the connection between the hoarding of t.p. and the virus. Some psychologists have shared their opinions. Many if not most of their opinions are similar or even identical. Briefly, buying toilet paper is something that everyone can do (if there's stock of course) and have control over. Controlling one's environment, or at least not being at its mercy is important to people. So, this tp hoarding is a method of controlling one's destiny, and the tp itself - a symbol of comfort...even if it seems irrational. Another explanation which also seems reasonable imho is that social media inflates people's sense of danger / threat. If you see footage after footage of massive lines in shops and people pushing cartloads of toilet paper, the chances of you going out and getting some tp yourself is much more likely than if you hadn't seen the footage. Another explanation is that people were acting like idiots! My brother in law works in our local Asda (UK supermarket owned by Wal-mart). A week after the initial panic subsided, a customer brought 50 packs of 8 rolls back to see if he could get a refund ..... he was politely advised of a place he could shove them!!!! Yeah, that reason can easily go hand in hand with what I was saying. As for the dude returning all of that tp, he was lucky the shop staff didn’t directly tell him to f**k off. Hehehe ... I know the guy who brought them back (small town syndrome - everyone knows everybody else!) ... it was appropriate that he had so many rolls as he is a total a*s-hole!
  14. Hehehe .... you'd feel right at home here in Ireland lol!
  15. 11°c / 52°f and raining ....... one of our better mornings lol!
