  1. 1971 - George Harrison - My Sweet Lord
  2. Great song. Here's another truly acoustic gem.............. http://youtu.be/dO1rMeYnOmM Nice one!!! .... Jim Croce was taken from us so early .... who knows where his career could have lead him. Thanks for this ... in some ways he is a forgotten talent.
  3. Exactly. And look out when I’m fully hammered because on those occasions I make Randy Rhodes and Eddie VH look like amateurs!
  4. We were scheduled to go to the US at the end of September to attend my cousin's daughter's wedding in Missouri, then on for a bunch of days in Vegas. We knew it wasn't going to happen as the US Govt. has revoked all ESTA's (visa waiver) meaning that we physically couldn't enter the country even if the flights were on. Yesterday we got word from the airline that the flights were cancelled - at least that means we will get a refund. We were so looking forward to the trip but I guess we have to wait until better times.
  5. Me, on my 'air guitar' when i'm half hammered on a Saturday night!!!
  6. Lots of great pics! ..... If I could post a pic i would but I don't have one of those photo sharing thingys! But I raise a glass to the memory of The Professor!
  7. A final album from the boys and a good one at that! I will go top and tails here - Caravan - good strong album opener The Garden - a very emotional ending (especially in light of things to come) ........ and so the curtain comes down one final time.....
  8. Awww, Happy 80th birthday to your mom! Indeed! Many Happy Returns to your Mum! (Love the fire extinguisher on standby lol!!)

    A bit of a unicorn

Nice one Jarg! Loved watching this! Every week is a Rush week!!!!
  10. I thought this was a pretty decent album. I vote - Far Cry The Way The Wind Blows CD only
  11. It was a fun experiment and added something a bit different to the R30 tour. I voted for the two songs whose original versions meant the most to me so - The Seeker (The Who) Crossroads (Cream)
  12. Vapor Trails was an important album for me - - A restoration of my faith in the band - A return to a more traditional, less commercial rock sound - Neil back and sounding great. The downside was a pretty drastic mix - compressed to within an inch of it's life! But the boys were back and thankfully not giving us the 'Police meets U2' chops (I know some of you forum members like those vibes - just not for an old-timer fan like myself). So I voted - Side 1 One Little Victory, with Ceiling Unlimited a close second Side 2 Earthshine, with Secret Touch second.
  13. I have only managed to see the Stones once. It was on the European leg of the Tattoo You tour in July 1982 when they played Slane Castle Dublin. Support acts were J. Geils Band, Chieftains and George Thorogood & The Destroyers. It was a fine day as I recall.
  14. Indeed!! She appeared in many of my schoolboy dreams!
  15. There are a bunch on this list that I find difficult to consider as acoustic ..... (unless they appeared in un-plugged sessions i missed!) Now this is acoustic ....
  16. You're in for a trip!!!! Greg is incredible, man. Not sure why he doesn't get more mentions when people talk about guitar heroes. Looking forward to listening Rod, hopefully I will have some time tomorrow to hear some of his stuff!! Tell me what you think of the interview. It also helps if you comment on the YouTube video and/or share it. I'll post some of Greg's highlights here. Starting with this one: I enjoyed the interview Rod. Plenty of information about an artist I am just hearing about now. I listened to a few albums - The self titled album, Parallax and Ascend.Ironically (as he hated it!) I really liked Ascend the best (probably more down to my personal musical tastes). A nice version of La Villa Strangiato. I shall definitely listen to more of his stuff ..... thanks for the steer!!
  17. Avengers girl, Mrs. James Bond, Game of Thrones actress Diana Rigg passed away today at the age of 82. RIP Diana.
  18. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DwVM6R6kg0 Yeah ... I quite like the Oldfield original. Not at all fussed on the H&O version.
