  1. If anyone is watching you instead of the boys they deserve to have a bag over their head.
  2. You can really tell Ged don't like playing this. Still some kinks to work out looks like. Can't wait. Makes not getting Jacob's Ladder a little easier to swallow.
  3. QUOTE (Presto-digitation @ Jun 30 2010, 06:21 AM) What's Love 4 Sale??? In Dallas it happens on Harry Hines Blvd late in the evening.
  4. QUOTE (cygnus_thegodofbalance @ Jun 26 2010, 04:57 PM)QUOTE (Scars @ Jun 26 2010, 05:33 PM) I would be either or if I went to the show and the show mostly consisted of pre-MP material. There are a few songs that I actually like from that period, but for the most part I never was able to get into the material then. It was MP (and maybe PeW) that was the true beginning of for me. Anything before then = boring, imo. Yeah, me too. But don't let everyone else hear that! You'll be regarded as "not a true Rush fan". Everyone else? There are plenty of old timers on here that love every RUSH period, if not every song. Careful with the broad brush, makes it hard to stay within the lines. ==================================== There is no way that the set list will be MP and earlier only. That's just stupid. As a brilliant poster said earlier, a time machine implies past present and future.
  5. It'd be cool, but FOL would be better IMO. Neither will ever happen. I said never. With an n.
  6. QUOTE (SpiritOfRush @ Jun 25 2010, 12:52 PM) I personally don't care what they play. I will rock out to all of it. Though I think Time Stand Still would make sense on this tour (and would be cool to hear again, IMO). Time SS would be great minus the video. I would love Stick it Out too. There are only three or four songs I wouldn't like and there's enough negativity on this bored as it is.
  7. I'll reserve judgement until I've heard them on the good system, but at first blush it's the same too busy and crowded, but nicely hard rocking style from S&A, and to an extent from VT. I'm left longing for a cleaner sharper sound. Still happy with the songs though. Just not thrilled.
  8. QUOTE (hammer.2112 @ Apr 23 2010, 09:32 AM) Will the guys use original instruments ? That's a much bigger question for me than setlist order, and worthy of a thread imo.
  9. The happy dance will be going on until Sept for me. An acoustic version of Different Strings to start the second set would be absolutely mind blowing.
  10. Can't freaking wait. TCE eye and VS being the most missed of course. They do know how to work a fanbase don't they? Come on with the new stuff too.
  11. QUOTE (GeddyLeeRoth @ Sep 20 2009, 10:50 PM) QUOTE (rushgoober @ Sep 20 2009, 09:35 AM) QUOTE (Weakly Criminal @ Sep 20 2009, 05:09 AM) Also, I'm wondering if an instrumental can be an epic? Doesn't an epic require subject matter by definition? Only if you say it does. La Villa is an epic. There are PLENTY of long instrumental tracks in the prog universe that to me are as epic as songs with lyrics... Its an epic that happens to be an instrumental. Or vice versa. Take your pick, but its an epic. I says so. Well there's no question that LVS is an epic work, I suppose that 'an epic' could refer to any art form, whether theres a story or not. Come to think of it, LVS does tell a story with music.
  12. TFOL may be constructed a bit haphazardly, but there is MUCH to appreciate about it. It's an acquired taste though, I admit. Also, I'm wondering if an instrumental can be an epic? Doesn't an epic require subject matter by definition?
  13. QUOTE (metaldad @ Sep 17 2008, 07:41 PM) QUOTE (WCFIELDS @ Sep 17 2008, 07:10 PM) "Poof's rounders" WTF is that? some kind of snack? It's baseball of course, but I have to wonder if anyone has ever died playing a fortnight long round of Cricket. 'Poof's Rounders' has killed more than a couple.
  14. QUOTE (pm1970 @ Jul 14 2008, 12:48 PM) wasn't he an offensive tackle for the Dallas Cowboys in the early 90's? he was considered one of the best Yup, that's the only Larry Allen that really matters. Currently playing for The Greatness, if he hasn't retired that is.
  15. Well done Smudger. Have your sides stopped aching yet?
  16. Man, this thread belongs in TSON. My suggestion is to put the question mark on your bumper next to the plate. And next time do a lot less talking to the mobile revenue collectors.
  17. I lift my glass to a underrated and underappreciated musician. Thanks for one seriously foundational album.
  18. QUOTE (mazyyz @ Apr 14 2008, 08:24 PM) QUOTE (GeminiRising79 @ Apr 2 2008, 07:28 PM) I am not gay nor do I have any homoerotic fantasies. Please don't flame for this is a legitimate question. Thanks. Dr. Frued would have a field day with you. Oh, oh!!! One armed man!!! One armed man!!! So easy.
