  1. Question: does anyone know if Neil is actually playing double bass in the second set or is it just a double-pedal on his right bass drum with the 2nd one being there "just for looks".... I heard the ladder from a friend, but unsure.
  2. I would wait and just keep watching the broker sites as well as the resale on Ticketmaster. I get that you want to be close; its prob their last tour; all sorts of reason to splurge.... I bought a Silver VIP for Tulsa weeks ago and looking at TM/StubHub today (the day before)--I wish I had waited bc for only a little more I could have been down front instead of the first side section. Having said that....even waiting a bit you may not find 4th row for less than $500 per. Tough one....
  3. For me, one of the BEST moments during a show is the opening of XANADU with the lasers reaching the back of the arena (goosebumps!)
  4. I think your best bet is to contact the main radio station in whichever city that is promoting the show and let them know you are willing to do whatever or pay whatever for a Meet & Greet. There might be a sympathetic station manager/DJ/fellow Rush fan that would hook you up. A friend of mine did that exact thing for the TM tour (constantly sent messages to our local DJ thru his Facebook page). He ended up giving her a pass a few hours before the show at the official local bar pre-show party.
  5. 1. WITCH HUNT followed by THE WEAPON following by ENEMY WITHIN followed by FREEZE 2. JACOBS LADDER 3. KID GLOVES 4. BROONS BANE 5. ALIEN SHORE 6. CHEMISTRY
  6. We havent heard them open with 2112 Overture in a loooooooong time. Its usually at the end, so I'm thinking they will move that to the front. My gut however says it will be an Overture of greatest hits like they opened the R30 tour with. We will know soon!
  7. Did ya know they are rehearsing at the BOK for like a week or two prior to opening night? If I lived there, I would soooo find myself there just "hanging out" LOL
  8. Lets see....my first Rush show (of 28 thus far) was the Signals tour (Lexington, KY 10/30/82). I was a 14yo high school freshman (and drummer), having been turned onto Rush just a year or two earlier from a drum teacher. I did not own EVERY Rush record at this point but was REALLY into their more current stuff (PWaves-->Signals). I had yet to even see them on TV, so the anticipation of actually seeing them move onstage (especially Neil behind the kit) was incredibly high. Come to think of it, I might have seen a video for Tom Sawyer or Limelight on MTV but definitely not that often. My seat was in the back corner of the lower arena. I pretty much watched the show through binoculars. It was also my first time actually seeing (and smelling) someone smoke pot (3-4 rows behind me). I also remember seeing a guy directly in front of Geddy with a home made tshirt that said "Get Ready For Geddy"---I was so jealous--thinking Geddy might actually wave at him or something! Needless to say I was blown away by the show. I couldn't believe they actually had a huge movie screen behind them! It was so freaking cool --like when they played Red Barchetta--there was a car moving along a highway!! Wow!! My memories of Neil--how calm and cool he was--but still so aggressive. I remember thinking, "wow, he almost never looks up--so concentrated on the job at hand"... He was dressed really cool too. White shirt and a skinny black tie (almost looked like a waiter). I also couldnt believe how ambidextrous he appeared. For example, the opening hi hat sequence of The Weapon: he played with his left hand (as seen in the P/G live DVD). Not really a big deal, but NOT something I was expecting to see. Same with Tom Sawyer--I assumed the high hat part was played with both hands---wrong, just the right. As a young impressionable drummer--I though it was so cool. Speaking of The Weapon, I totally remember the Count coming on the screen, but having no idea who the guy was OR what he was saying. Lastly, I remember Alex coming out for the final song wearing a mask---made him look like a member of DEVO or something (black plastic type hair do)....it was the day before Halloween after all. Anyway, those are my memories of that epic night!
  9. i might be for st louis and/or columbus BUT am going to try to get a single gold vip first. if i'm not able to go the $400 route, i'll be in touch...
  10. Hey EDM2112: if you havent done it yet, check out the pics at http://photos.rush.com/Rush2013/Nashville/29209579_pZF3kB#!i=2489006728&k=BtVVKWX You might see yourself in the front row on a few of them taken by their pyro guy John Arrowsmith. I've been down front a few times and found myself with my hands in the air with my buddy on one of the pics from the Time Machine tour in Columbus, OH. I ordered it from John and had it framed. Very nice sentimental pic on my wall.
  11. Im pretty sure I read something somewhere (a Neil interview?) stating the boys actually tried to get Jacobs Ladder ready for the Time Machine tour, but no matter how hard they tried...neither of them liked it. So it was dropped. Did I dream this or can anyone confirm reading the same interview? I would LOVE to know some of the other tracks that just didnt make the cut (TM or CA tours....or any tour for that matter).
  12. My friend and I were driving downtown Cincy in 1994 prior to the Counterparts tour stop. We actually saw him riding his bicycle and seriously almost ran into him!! My buddy did a u-turn to "kinda sorta" follow him but he basically bolted into the lower garage of the arena...
  13. I would do everything you mentioned above, maybe a yellow sticky note on the tourbook or whatever you send asking to be signed to you personally.... Def plan on it arriving just a few days before the show. You might also check with the venue to ask if they receive incoming mail for bands. Some don't....
  14. For Indy last Sept, I purchased a SINGLE ticket (which may help your chances?) about an hour or so after it went on sale and ended up 3rd row center. For Nashville last week, I bought another single right when they went on sale and got 2nd row over by Geddy.
