  1. Um yup.......................................................................
  2. Growing up poor, one of my few joys was casual birdwatching. There's tons of info online about how pesticides have hurt wild bird populations. So any support of feather friends is good indeed.
  3. My dog pooping in the kitchen. At this age I cannot keep up with pupper drama. No more dogs after him...........................
  4. Stable, waiting on a storm. Sigh......................
  5. I don't have time to Google search whether this album is self-titled, but Duncan Sheik's record with "Barely Breathing" on it is a sad gem. The overtone is a Buddhist type posture of accepting sadness in romances. The song "Barely Breathing" is about being emotionally abused by a partner. I don't personally amp up the sad times with sad music. I turn on some heavy metal or trance and try to move past that mood, as people with mood disorders don't need any reason to get entrenched in a bad sad mood.
  6. Being able to fill the bird feeders. The birds in my region need all the help they can get so doing that was my constructively selfish moment of the day.
  7. Oh that is definitely the order of the day. The whole reason I figured out the photos were gone was I was sorting through some personal effects b/c my boyfriend is ailing. I'll just come out and say it, our family photos are few b/c we were poor and my mother lost her ability to be tidy as she lost her health. Most were discarded. As a result any family photos are either from relatives or classmates who share online. The reason this stings is my nieces and nephews barely have an idea of their roots (they're busy in school so they don't turn out like my burnout relatives) and I really wanted them to have a concrete idea of their personal history. This is why I get a pang of melancholy when I go to thrift stores and find bins of old photos. Time is so fleeting and so are our lives.
  8. Aaaaand my evening has been ruined because I was too lazy to back up some digital photos and they are now gone forever. I thought I'd have time to do that............................ I did not do that. Fackkkk!!!!!!! Note to all- scrapbooking and real photos are still appealing, especially if you have kids or grandkids. I guess this summer vacation will be spent printing out photos and buying a new hope chest. For reasons I can't put here (privacy) we lost a bunch of our family photos over the years and I need my descendents to know where they came from............... Your thoughts and support are welcome here. Thanks to me being a doormat and letting my boyfriend dictate how much of my storage items I kept in our basement...among other problems we've faced in the past half decade... I didn't prioritize this task until now, which is a bit late. FACK!!!!!!
  9. Meatloaf and potatoes. Ohhhhh American cuisine.
  10. The aches and pains of age...................................
  11. Anthem...............................................
  12. 2112 The Overture........................................
  13. The scented candle I splurged on is better than expected, and was only half priced....
  14. The fact that one of our yard squirrels dragged a citrus peel into a flowerbed and discarded it there, as the peel smelled nice but has no real nutritional value. When I put in flowers I'll remember to leave some birdseed out for our tree-dwelling friends.
  15. A nice warmish week of weather for my region. Delightful.....
  16. Oooof. This is a perfect example of why social media is so problematic.......
  17. IMO I figured this vagueness was a way of not mentioning he probably yelled at his friend for his bungle.
  18. This morning I heard the news reports of the earthquake in Turkey/Syria and got upset. I donated a small amount to Doctors Without Borders, my finances are lame but I felt so bad hearing about the destruction. I grew up fearing earthquakes (California) so it hits close to home. Seems like a bad thing to say given the severity of this event, but we need to remember others.
  19. Our feeders turn into a wildlife jamboree. Well, I do live in a really rural area so that makes sense.
  20. I filled my bird feeders and spotted a small sparrow right away in the tree near our bathroom window. It was nice to be reminded of bird appreciation.
  21. I don't want to derail this conversation about David with tangential info but- he himself mentioned some of his work was just the tip of the counterculture iceberg. Nicely enough with his passing there will be a revival of his works and related music from the era he helped define.
  22. Ehhh sadly very wealthy functional addicts can live a long long time. It is what it is. David Crosby was a G-damned hilarious person, in addition to being a music legend. We should all rejoice in knowing his talents.
