  1. One of the few actors to play a Bond villain and an ally! RIP
  2. and Thanksgiving and Christmas!
  3. Moving Pictures. There, proved you wrong! The hardcore True Fans ™ might be sick of it, but "Tom Sawyer" is a legit great rock song, full stop. Everything else is among the best work they ever did -- and to pile it all up in one album? There's a reason it's the album from Rush. One hundred years from now, Moving Pictures will be the Rush work music fans know, and Fly By Night -- while very good! -- will be a specialist's esoterica. My "iconoclast" position is that "Vital Signs" is the much superior track to "Red Barchetta"!
  4. Y'all, I'm not sure how Invisible Airwave feels about this . . .
  5. Yeah, so you've been saying for about a year. Assertions made without evidence can be dismissed without evidence, with apologies to Mr. Hitchens.
  6. I'm (virtually) right there with you, and I'd be in line, too. If it were happening.
  7. The end of the season has not been kind, has it?
  8. That "seemed" is doing a lot of work there. Always felt pretty chimeric.
  9. But we were assured more stuff was forthcoming! The Anniversary Boxset That Was Promised is surely just around the corner! Keep the faith! In the meantime, would you be interested in these expensive repackagings of previously released material?
  10. Edmonton, St. Louis knows the pain you're in, but wants to remind you "at least it wasn't game 7."
  11. A number two on an expiring contract who might be a bad locker room guy! I was excited, then less excited. We'll see how it goes.
  12. The Rockies looked at last year's White Sox and said "Hold my Coors."
  13. Gillan and Glover in Deep Purple Peak Drive-by Truckers was probably the Jason Isbell era Dickinson in Iron Maiden
  14. Oh my god -- the White Sux! That was some Little League nonsense in the ninth, but we'll take it!
  15. Still? Talk about being obsessed with your ex. Move on, MJS!
  16. Based on my own idiosyncratic criteria, here goes: #1 Jimi Hendrix: otherworldly creative guitarist, artist chasing his muse, inspired generations #2 Jimmy Eat World: I only know one song, "The Middle," but it's super catchy, and the video is attention-keeping, no question DFL Jimmy Buffet: a triumph of marketing over substance, plus he was playing in Denver on my twenty-first birthday, and so most of my friends/peers at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, where I was working that summer, decided to go see his concert instead of buying me drinks; I've never really forgiven Buffet for this personal slight.
  17. Very nicely spotted! I just grabbed it, too. I'll give it a listen later.
  18. I would only watch this if it were 25 super fans beating Skip Bayless with their shoes.
  19. The Blues cannot stop scoring at home!
