Vapor Trails (2002): Songs Elimination (Round 4)
Nova Carmina replied to _hi_water._'s topic in Feedback
Do you actually want us to carve the "aaarrgghhhh" into the wall of the cave, or just the first bit? -
Yes announce new album, but is it really Yes anymore?

Vapor Trails (2002): Songs Elimination (Round 2)

Agree with your second sentence. Neil used to take classics and use them/spin them a little. Then he just stole the titles :sigh: It's true! I call that "The Steve Harris" -

Vapor Trails (2002): Songs Elimination (Round 2)
Nova Carmina replied to _hi_water._'s topic in Feedback
You've got to think of "How It Is" as a pop song; on those terms, it's a fun addition to the oeuvre. Still riding for that one. I remember looking at the title of "Out of the Cradle" and thinking it was gonna be more Walt Whitman-based and being all the more disappointed in it for that. Thus, it grabs last place with both hands. -
Yeah, pretty much what Zepphead said ^^^! Genesis (although this is about the eighth or ninth Genesis album I would pick up to listen to) Genesis (taking the whole arc into account, and not merely the version of the band at the time of this album) "I Want It All" is a great song, and wins the "all" battle easily.

Hey, look at that! Happy Birthday, Lorraine! We know you've had some knocks, but you know we are in your corner, sending you good thoughts. Hope it's a great day.

Vapor Trails (2002): Songs Elimination (Round 1)
Nova Carmina replied to _hi_water._'s topic in Feedback
Wow -- I'd forgotten how long this album is. I know and really like four or five tracks, but had simply forgotten so many of the others. I did immunize "How It Is," though, as I think it's catchy and worth keeping for a few more rounds, at least. -
Condolences to the Weinrib family; a good woman with a life worth knowing.

POLL: First 6 Led Zeppelin vs. first 6 Rush albums?
Nova Carmina replied to Texas King's topic in Rush
Yeah, Rush without the PW through Power Windows run is just weakened enough to finish behind the mighty Zeppelin. LZ I > Rush LZ II > FBN LZ III > CoS LZ IV > 2112 HotH < AFTK PG = Hemispheres (So there's little of Hemispheres, but it's all great, and so much of Physical Graffiti, with some forgettable moments) -
People who prefer commercials  to continuous action. I suppose if Torquemada applied his skills to linguistics, he could have stretched the definition of "action" far enough to include what goes on on the soccer pitch under that banner.

I think lamb is too fatty, duck too fatty/oily. Plus, as a child, we had a really bad experience one Thanksgiving with under-cooked duck, so there's that. But the whole animal products industry is rife with inconsistencies; why cow milk but not horse -- why not goat or camel in large quantities? We could just as easily pump camels full of CST (instead of BST, one assumes) and have huge dromedairy operations (see what I did there?).

"not great" is how you should feel about it, but such is the will of the people. -

To be honest, this Italian team, with their mixture of old guile, and a rejuvenated flair, are a spectacle worthy of the Colosseum! Yeah, but their best player was a Spaniard . . . . -
Meh. When the new music comes out, we should all try it, but your time is probably better spent listening to A Night At the Opera again, frankly.

First off the picture has to be on the internet somewhere already. You can't just post picture you have saved on your computer. Next you have to go to where that picture is on the internet and copy the URL of the picture. Not the picture itself, but it's URL. Then, come back over to TRF, go to the thread you want to post it in, and when you go to make your post click on the little picture frame icon over the text box (it's between the chain icon and the < > icon, just below the smiley face and the orange A). You'll see a box pop up with a little text box in it where you can paste the URL you copied earlier, then hit OK. The picture should now appear in your post. You can preview it by hitting more reply options if you want to make sure it worked before you post it. Thanks; that's a very thorough explanation, and it highlights how unclear my first post was! I can do the copy and paste/URL thing for pictures, but what I should have said was "I don't have a way to put pictures I take or have on my computer on the internet"! Does storing things in Google Photos count?

Yes, he's quite piratical looking, isn't he? Perhaps they'll adopt a "swashbuckling" style! Not sure how I feel about Benitez in blue. Mmmm, wishing him moderate success, I suppose. Bit too much made of the terrible betrayal angle, perhaps? He did leave 11 years ago, and I`m not sure he`s going to worry you too much. If Everton finish 7th or 8th, everyone can be satisfied that he`s building, but not too much and not too fast :tsk: Regarding your upcoming season. Was last year a conflation of unprecedented events? Or is tetchy Jurgen burnt out, just like he was at Dortmund after five years? Some things are forever, you know. Because I have the luxury of supporting from afar, I can afford to think of Everton more like a little brother -- you want good things for him, deep down inside, but never at your expense or so it outshines you. My main concern is not any sort of "betrayal" but that he'll do too well for the Toffees! They might even win a cup, gasp! I think Klopp burned out at Dortmund dealing with their financial limitations and forever working in Bayern's shadow. LFC may not have as much to spend as some others, but they're not exactly poor, and despite the recent years, they're hardly eclipsed by anyone. I imagine he'll soldier on for a few more seasons -- there can't be any more like last, surely! -
I've never figured out how to post pictures, so I can't participate!

Montreal may be putting up a fight, but it's not looking too good for them. Do they fend off the sweep?

Test For Echo (1996): Songs Elimination (Round 5)
Nova Carmina replied to _hi_water._'s topic in Feedback
I did, yeah. So far, in each round I've voted to immunize "Resist" but I haven't bothered being consistent about which ones to eliminate (other than "Driven") because they'll all disposable to these ears and memory. Without looking, I couldn't even tell you which one I voted to eliminate for this round! You and I agree on much, but we'll have to disagree on "Virtuality," which feels more dated than anything from the '70s . . .
