  1. QUOTE (RUSHHEAD666 @ Jul 3 2011, 01:49 AM)I saw this movie today and I loved it!!! Talk about an old school homage to Spielberg and John Carpenter! SPOILER ALERT!! DO NOT READ FURTHER IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THIS MOVIE YET! This movie took me back to the Eighties even though this movie took place in the Seventies! Great soundtrack! Blondie, ELO, and The Knack! Wow, that music was right in my wheelhouse when I was a kid of the Seventies. Anyway J.J. Abrams is a genius. I never got into "Lost" but my wife loved it. Did you know that when Abrams was 15 years old Steven Spielberg hired him to restore all of his Super 8 movies? Amazing. The influences are obvious you guys. This movie reminded me of the following: "The Thing" "E.T." "The Goonies" "Stand By Me" "Poltergeist" "Close Encounters Of The Third Kind" Just keep your eyes on the walls in the kids bedrooms. Nice "Halloween" poster! "Dawn Of The Dead" poster. Lots of "Star Wars stuff too. Also if you catch the end during the credits watch the "Super 8" film. Love the "Romero Chemical" plug. This movie is "SUPER GREAT!" Good review there Earl. I saw this yesterday and really liked it also. Took me back to the 70's/80's. One of those summertime movies you go see just to see something, and then you find out that it was better than you thought it would be. I'll give it 7 out of 10 smokes!
  2. nobodys hero, aka The Blue Baroness, I sent you a PM on some info I thought might assist you regarding a previous topic in this thread. Did you not get it?
  3. QUOTE (go2wrk@95974 @ Jul 1 2011, 06:56 PM)I could'nt find any other location to put this under, as far as off topic was concerned....that's why I put it here...EXCUSE ME!!!! Stuff like this topic, and also your last thread, go in Random Samples, but since no mods or admins have moved them there yet, I assume they don't even bother to come in here anymore.

  5. QUOTE (Rushman14 @ Jun 28 2011, 10:36 PM)QUOTE (SiriusRushFan @ Jun 28 2011, 07:18 PM) Saw it at the Drive-In on Sunday with Green Hornet as the 2nd feature. Place was packed. I liked Cars 2, but not quite as good as the first I don't think. Wah I miss the drive-in. They don't exist in Los Angeles anymore. Bummer dude. Did they close the Vineland Drive-In in Industry, Cali? That is near you. I am showing that it is still open on this site, Drive-Ins.com but who knows.

  7. Summer, oh yes. Love that feeling when you open the door of your nice cold house, and as soon as you step outside, the heat hits you right in the crotch! But that's the way it is 'cause, like The Power Station said... Some Like It Hot We want to multiply, are you gonna do it I know you're qualified, are you gonna do it Feel the heat, pushing you to decide Feel the heat, burning you up, ready or not Some like it hot and some sweat when the heat is on Some feel the heat and decide that they cant go on...
  8. This is very tempting. Just a short drive from here, and while they aren't my fave Rush cover band, I still haven't seen them yet. It's gonna be right on the boardwalk so, hard to resist this one for some beach action fun.
  9. The chicks are just now learning to fly. Didn't see anything of them but I watched the feed for a few minutes and saw the Mother Eagle sitting on a limb, checking out the scene. About 30k viewers watching... http://static.grindtv.com/images/1/00/36/34/25/363425.jpg
  10. I haven't seen this before if it has already been posted. I like the magazine format of their site, and then also to be able to view the video on the same page as the text. Good interview there and about an hour's worth of in depth Neil.
  11. Seems kinda fishy on the date of him being on Letterman though. Letterman's show is recorded live about 4pm, it is then broadcast later that night. If you look at the touring schedule, Neil would have to play the concert in South Carolina on the 8th, then haul ass 700 miles up to New York, get some sleep and get up and do the taping by 4pm the next day. Then, he has to haul ass another 1300 miles back down to New Orleans to play another concert the very next day on the 10th. This would all seem a bit hectic to me, traveling 2000 miles round trip just to spend 30 minutes doing the Letterman bit, in between two concert dates so close together. Maybe Neil's part of the show could be pre-recorded when Rush gets back from Europe after the Germany show on May 29th, before they even play in South Carolina. But that would be kinda strange also having to do that. It's a paradox!
  12. Right now over in Newcastle, UK, Rush are almost through their concert set list. And for this very reason, I am hereby stating that because of Rush having a concert on this day, the world has been spared from the Rapture, and everyone on the planet should thank them. Yes, that's it, thank Rush! From now on May 21st is Thank Rush Day! Any sane person should know that there ain't no way in hell that a Rapture would ever happen on a day that Rush has a concert! The show must go on! Just another reason that this is indeed the greatest band of all time! Thank you Rush for saving the world! May 21st, Thank Rush Day!!!
  13. I tell you what, if there are any other 11 year olds on the planet that can play La Villa and top that video, I'd like to see it! Until then, you've just got to give it up for those kids! The crowd went wild! lol

That's super pathetic when you go in there and stand there alone for like forever. at almost 2:00 in the morning sully? was there anyone else even on the boards? There were people here! No one wanted to talk to me! The time: 3:40am, this morning The setting: TRF chat The chatters: one woman named sullysue Aaaand action! *snap* I was on my way to bed, but decided to check the forum quickly before retiring. And lo and behold I see sullysue sitting by her lonesome in the chat. I think back, remembering her last post in this thread, where no one was chatting with her in the wee hours. Sooo, I decided that I would try to brighten her morning for a couple minutes and chat with her before I left the forum. I go into chat and type three sentences to miss Sue. No reply. Ah well, never let it be said that SRF didn't at least try to help a damsel in chat distress! the wee hours? is that when one wakes up to go to the bathroom? In my case no. I wee before I go to bed, and I don't wee again until I get out of bed to have breakfast. I sleep soundly. I can't speak for miss Sue though, she may possibly have wee hours. oh i get up at least once in the middle of the night but its rarely to check in here. but i don't drink quite as much or as often as i used to so i haven't been holding up the chat walls like i was for a while there. I tell ya what Lil Suzi, I'll give you my # and the next time you get up to wee, you give me a ring. If we both go in chat together maybe miss Sue will chat next time. The # is 1-800-933-4687 (wee-hour)

  17. QUOTE (Mara @ May 14 2011, 11:01 AM)Disclaimer - I haven't listened to it in a really long time. I do remember not liking it much because I found it overtly preachy. Neil's more effective when he's subtle, and I didn't care for the sledgehammer-style message in "Red Tide". I suppose I should take another listen - it's been a good fifteen years or so since I started hitting the "skip" button on Red Tide. No time like the present! With lyrics too... Red Tide
  18. Really strange to have BBC Radio 1 play Rush but they did. This channel usually plays all sorts of stuff but I have never heard Rush on there before now. I bet Kissy Sell Out and Annie Nightingale won't be playing any Rush though. lol http://mysite.verizon.net/Assbuster/BBCRadio1.jpg

  20. Number 9 was the common factor it seems. Small clip from a couple days ago... From the special Come to Papa with Jerry Seinfeld, airing at 6pm tonight on the Raw Dog comedy channel, #99. "Jerry Seinfeld joins veteran standup comedian Tom Papa for a casual, hour-long conversation about comedy, pop culture, relationships, and more. As part of his new four-week series Come to Papa, Tom gets to chat with Jerry about the real stuff that makes him a great artist." Rebroadcast: Tomorrow 4:00 pm ET; Tomorrow 9:00 pm ET
  21. Ah, cool man. It was a short 20 years wasn't it? lol I barely got the edge on ya. We met in October of 1990 and just 2 weeks later we moved in together and that was all she wrote. Ain't been apart since. Only we never got married, not sure if we ever will because we are happy like we are, but if we ever did decide to marry then that's ok too. We just didn't feel the urge to back then and we didn't have any kids so no biggie. I sort of took the Gene Simmons route I guess lol, although he and Shannon did have a boy and girl of their own.
  22. QUOTE (SeamusWiles @ Apr 29 2011, 11:57 PM)I predict after the CA tour, they'll take 2-3 years off and go on tour again. Ding, Ding, we have a winner! They will have crossed the 60ish year line by then but they will hit the road once again, with 40 years together under their belts.
