  1. What sucks about this video? http://youtu.be/VbBf0c-NaN4 Or this one? http://youtu.be/MLGgzN8Kd7Q Neither are the Time Stand Still nor Superconductor videos despite being from the same era.
  2. With this music video, you could definitely tell that the boys just discovered greenscreen I overlook the goofiness of it because I like the song so much. Some of Peart's best lyrics imho.
  3. This is a joke, right? I guess someone noticed. :chickendance: Hold Your Fire is f***ing good you pricks! :madra: I like Hold Your Fire more than any Rush studio album that followed. Some of those albums have a song or more that I like more than anything off HYF but, as a whole, I think HYF beats them. Nothing off HYF annoys me like some of the stuff off Bones, Snakes, or Clockwork. :goodone: There's no yodeling on HYF. No clunky lyrics crammed into a single line. No preaching. None of that. And no yodelling! i said that

  6. Still alive, still kicking and still waiting for Will Hunting to come back....!! ;) http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/stellan_skarsgrd_3102.jpg That's the movie I'm gonna associate with him the most. First R rated movie I saw in a theater by myself. What the f do you want? My name is Gerald Lambeau. The professor who you told to go f himself. Well, what the f do you want? Just a very believable actor in whatever role he takes: http://youtu.be/QCzH42efniU
  7. Hemispheres Permanent Waves Moving Pictures My favorite song is there (NatSci), my favorite shorter song is there (Limelight), my #3 song is there (Strangiato), and they’re all perfect 10s.
  8. I’m waiting it out for Classic Album Elimination 29 when early Judas Priest takes on the likes of The Bee Gees and The Carpenters.
  9. The father Stellan has had key/big roles in more well known movies than all of them combined: Angels & Demons, a couple of Pirates of the Caribbean movies, Thor 1 & 2 + Avengers 1 & 2, Good Will Hunting, Amistad, The Hunt for Red October, Ronin, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo...
  10. Idiot wind Blowing every time you move your mouth Blowing down the back roads headin’ south Idiot wind Blowing every time you move your teeth You’re an idiot, babe It’s a wonder that you still know how to breathe
  11. I also have to find some room for Pearl Jam's Ten. I just cheated and made a list of 40 (and even that isn't enough!!) Of course it’s not enough. And there’s a possibility that no number would ever be enough. That’s why 30 is a good challenge! Hell, I could’ve chosen Hunky Dory instead of Ziggy, LZ 2 instead of 4, Animals instead of Dark Side, bumped a number of bands in order to cram in some Tool or Primus, and on and on but they can’t all be at THE top of the mountain.

  13. Sure they do. "List your top 30 artists" on TRF = "Top 75 artists with a 50 way tie at the #75 spot"...even though they'd put a disclaimer that the artists are in no particular order :P Earl only likes one band and they're called TURBOGOO! Speaking of Earl, where has he been? Maybe he eloped. He's got his lifelike blow-up doll "Lisa" (made in Japan, obviously) and is furiously staining it with his noxious fluids. It started out with pinkish skin but now already it's a dirty cream... By now it’s deflated after being violently “punctured” a few hundred times.

  15. Not Rush but it is Lifeson. It's not La Villa Strangiato but it's not really cheesy either. http://youtu.be/7MRoagLMf60
  16. Watch out! I've had similar. Someone around me from a blind spot, out of control, cutting in front.Good to hear you're ok. Those damn snowboarders ;) . No matter how careful you can be, there's always that chance. Take care on the slopes all the same dude. Forget snowboards!! ..... It's 'panic in the supermarkets' time!!! .... I was almost flattened by a granny with a turbo charged shopping trolley this morning .... worst of it was, I swear she had an evil glint in her eye (the good one lol!!) Don't get me started Zepp. It's when peeps are looking at a bargain mesmerised. YET continue to walk in another direction. Sometimes into my path with a trolley! I watch in disbelief, taking it all in.... :D . It’s Mad Max Road Warrior shit in the produce section! Two men enter, one man leave!!!! http://media1.fdncms.com/riverfronttimes/imager/u/slideshow/2569020/idiotarod_14.jpg Animals! It’s just cabbage for f**k’s sake! :P

  18. It's definitely a better soundtrack song that that boring and way too long Bob Dylan cover for a boring Tom Cruise movie about car racing. Guns N’ Roses f***ed up their Dylan cover, not Dylan himself. Imho, that’s the worst cover of all time by a widely popular band of a well known song.
  19. Forgettable Cake > Annoying screech for T2 soundtrack
  20. 2112 blasting as a determined Nick and his beast-driven carriage charge through the evening’s cold, winter sky. With his mission accomplished yet still a few hours before dawn, a satisfied Nick stops for a brief rest a little northeast of Kamchatka, smiles, then says to his lead beast, “Whaddya say Rudy?” The young, muscular, red-nosed stallion answers, “We have assumed control.” :blaze:
  21. Before reading your post I was thinking “Why isn’t Subdivisions winning this?”
  22. Critics love that show to be honest. Look at it's Rotten Tomatoes rating. It's still trash, though. With its goofy stereotypes, predictable plotlines, and over the top anti-PC content, Kobra Kai is irresistibly endearing trash tv. critics are dumb. end of story  Really? I mean they hated Rush in 70s.......80s.........90s..........how dumb were they then? <end sarcasm> RS hated Zeppelin at first. I remember Scott Stapp using that as a response to the bad reviews Creed got. As for Creed, their early songs are tolerable not as bad as Nickelback and Trapt and I'll leave it at that. Besides you, I’ve never heard anyone whether here or in the real world mention Trapt. Just sayin’
  23. Interesting. Seems like something that small might make it's way through a standard cloth mask, but I'm no scientist. At my physical recently, I asked my doctor about the efficacy of masks. I was wearing a cloth one, he was wearing a more "diesel" one. He said that the one I was wearing does nothing. Which raises the question of why require that people wear a face covering if so many people are wearing something that is not effective. Science!!!* New research on the limited effectiveness of masks alone... https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2020/12/201222132057.htm Wearing a mask may not be enough to prevent the spread of COVID-19 without social distancing. Researchers tested how different types of mask impacted the spread of droplets that carry the coronavirus when we cough or sneeze. Every material tested dramatically reduced the number of droplets that were spread. But at distances of less than 6 feet, enough droplets to potentially cause illness still made it through several of the materials. Yesterday, for the first time, I saw a list of COVID recommendations in a public place that had distancing listed first. That was encouraging. I think people would less likely follow distancing rules than mask wearing rules. OR there’d be a miscalculation of distance (4 feet vs 6 feet vs 9 feet or whatever) which would lead some going “Tom Cruise” on others :P
  24. How so? Crap lyrics yodelling voice brickwalled production pedestrian music I get all of those except the lyrics. Crap?? My opinion on the lyrics is a bit mixed. The lines “It is what it is - and whatever / forever” are a little cringey. But then I like “time is still the infinite jest” and “each memory a moment in flight”. Overall, I like the sentiments but only half or even fewer lyrical phrases do much for me. I think I said in another thread that imho Vapor Trails has Peart’s best lyrics this century.
  25. I counted and we’re stuck at 25?
