  1. Are these the same people that kept saying Disney's "Little Mermaid" was evil because she disobeys her father? :D My daughter kept getting that one in school for awhile! Gotta love it.
  2. :cheerleader: :cheerleader: Happy Anniversary Narps! Time for me to break out ATWAS to have a celebration for you! Have a good one. :7up: :7up:
  3. That is so cool, I bet it has been fun to explore everything! I will probably never get to half of it . . . . :P
  4. You can put yourself on the list if you like! It is the "Ext. HD VINE is here" thread in the "Different Stages" forum. :)
  5. I liked this one- it only took a short amount of time to read AND one shirt had Punxsutawney, PA on it ! Seriously, it got to the point, and I find geography interesting. I wish him all the best.
  6. Ok , here are some directions, If they are too explicit just make a face at me :P I am used to giving very detailed instructions because my family seems to need them . . :D I was thinking of putting them in with the drive, I'm sorry I didn't do that. I will repost the directions in the HD drive thread as well. 1. You will need a place to store the files that are on the drive. Gord 0912 figured out the total amounts- Audio- 1.52 TB Video- 1.13 TB Those are Terabytes; 1000 x 1 GB. So if you want everything most likely you will need to get an external HD. I got a refurbished 3 TB one for $ 84.00 at Amazon and everything fit on it. If you don't want everything, you could get something smaller or even a large thumb drive (see #2.) 2. Once you open the main audio or video file, each video and audio is then on the drive as a separate file, with the date listed. You can see the dates and titles of the files on pg. 54 of the "Ext. HD VINE is here" thread. If you are a discerning consumer you could read through some of the threads on "Different Stages" and see what bootlegs are people's favorites and thought to be the best; you can also read reviews of bootlegs by date or title on the Digital Rush Experience website. Maybe you only want some of the files and could get away with a smaller drive or like 64 GB thumb drive. I should have thought of that while I was waiting; I really am not interested in any video; only some audio and so could have gotten something smaller and cheaper but hey it will be fun to explore. 3. When you open the box, you will see the large black external HD, and two cords. One cord has a round jack on the end and a plug on the other, that is the power cord. Plug the round jack in the hole on the back of the drive that says "DC in." Plug the other end into power source. The second cord is the USB 3 cord, plug the m-shaped bracket into the back of the drive and the USB end into the USB port on your computer. The drive should start to hum and a light goes on inside it. 4. Then attach your storage thing you bought, power cord from it to power source and USB cord from storage thing to another USB port on your computer. 5. Both drives should show up on your computer screen, on my Mac they showed up in my "Devices" folder. The Rush one is called (from what I remember) "WD 4.0 TB HD" or similar. Yours would be whatever you called it. When you click on the Rush one, you will see 4 (I think) files- Rush video, Rush audio and two .exe files. The Rush ones are what they say; I couldn't open the .exe ones because I have a Mac but one is "Trader's little helper", an app you will need to convert the sound files (see # 7 below!) 6. You can drag the entire Video or Audio large file to your device to copy OR you can open the file and drag individual files to copy if you want to. The Rush Drive runs USB 3.0 but it will work with USB 2.0 also. Either way, USB 3 or 2; it takes several hours to copy each of the large files. 7. Congrats, now all the files are on your device! Will they play?? All of the sound files are FLAC or shn! It will help you at this point to read the pinned thread- "File Types you May Encounter." FLAC or shn (older) are the way sound files are traded to keep them sounding good. There are players for Windows in that "File Type" thread, or you can use a converter app like "Traders Little Helper" (Windows) or xACT (Mac) to convert them into WAV files. (choose decode from the xACT menu and drag in your file.) WAV files will play in Windows Media player or iTunes; in iTunes you just drag them in, then you can make a playlist and burn a disc, put them on your iPod or whatever. 8. All the video files are VOB/BUP/IFO !! Same thing as #7. These are how DVD video files are shared. You need some type of software DVD playing app in your computer; my husband is telling me VLC is a free app that should work for everyone but I have not tried this part yet. I haven't burned any DVD's either but any other questions, just ask. :P
  7. Library, church and animal shelter ?? You are awesome!!!
  8. I'm sorry this happened to you! We have moved a lot and have been lucky to have good neighbors where we have lived. Two of them passed away in a short time last February and it left kind of a hole in the neighborhood. You were kind to want the best health for him even if the time to bring it up never quite came up.
  9. Whaaaaaa? I must do more research. Potentially just as interesting as a History Day project of my son's friend- "Tupac is still Alive !" :D
  10. Seriously? I gotta run and vote!!!! Who in their right mind would kid about something like that??? Chica, it's in the Natural Science vs. Xanadu thread. Read it and weep. :( I don't see why it would be a crime to like a song more than Xanadu? My favourite Rush song is Chain Lightning, my favourite seventies Rush song is Bastille Day, and my favourite song off of AFTK is the title track. Oooh, I love Bastille Day also. I have some different bootlegs from the CoS and 2112 tours mainly because Bastille Day sounds so good live on them! :) Bootleg from a CoS tour? They exist? This excites me! There are a couple in circulation, but the sound quality is not exactly thrilling. But yes, they do exist! Yes, sorry, my bad. I thought that was the Bastille Day that I liked the best so I went and looked in the car. Turns out the Bastille Day that I like so well is on Out of Hiding, which is a pretty common bootleg; sorry Segue. Blue J is right; there is one night from the CoS tour that was recorded and is around. I just had the Rush external HD thing and that show is on it so if you want it Segue or Blue J, (or someone else) pm me your address and I will send it to you on a CD, Blue J is right though, the reviews say the sound quality is not the best. I'm not familiar with many of the boots by title; can you tell me what the date is on that Out of Hiding? Sure, it is 12-10-1976; it is the one from the Capitol Theatre in Passaic, NJ. Let me know if you would like it; it is kind of a short concert but a nice one.

  13. I have a Tom Waits photo for Mick! I think the last time GeminiRising posted he had returned to Europe with some horrible flu he caught while over here for R40- I actually felt kind of bad for him . . . .
  14. Seriously? I gotta run and vote!!!!
  15. The commercial came on here for the first time recently and my husband was laughing so hard he fell off his chair! :D We loved the cheesiness of it. We were never big fans of the actual band.
  16. Hope? There's not much to it but it's very pretty. I have a couple of plays of it strung together to listen to when I want a calming influence . . . Tai Shan, now you're talking! I always think it's the Rush song that doesn't sound like Rush.
  17. Happy dance, happy dance that the R40 concert tour DVD will be out so soon! I have been missing the Periscope shows! :)
  18. Hell yeah! I have two really cool ones with fishing logos on them, Tried looking just now but I have so much sh**. I will find the one I love the most. When you go to the Kenai river in the middle of winter its a must! :hail: Yeah, that was the same with the skiing also; I think just the calories helped because we used to fall a lot! :D Just looked again, No luck. Maybe tomorrow when I have the day off. I did find about $5.00 in change though. :dweez: Awesome !!! :yay:

  20. My husband used to have one for us- as djflex said, sometimes convenient whiskey needs to be convenient . . . football games, schnapps when skiing, etc. It was way before kids :D I think he gave it to a friend when we became responsible. Our last blueberry just moved out last week- maybe we should get another one . . .
  21. I'm so sorry to hear this, Blue J. It's so cool when there is older person in the family you connect with to fill you in on all the stories and history from the past. In my family, it was my grandmother, who had grown up in Pittsburgh and then left. When she came back to visit us she had so many stories about all the old buildings and growing up with 11 brothers and sisters. Dementia is hard; my mother in law had it for several years before she passed. She kept her sense of humor for a long time, though; and so we did as well; it really helps! I'm sorry your family has to go through this.
  22. Now $10 Do you still have this? My daughter does graphic design and likes unusual comics.
  23. :ebert: :ebert: :ebert: Happy 5th Anniversary , Babycat! Hope it's a fun one here at TRF!! :cheerleader: :cheerleader: :cheerleader:
  24. That was such a pretty song. What year did it come out? I don't think I was even ten yet. 1964. I was 7 years old. That was the year I turned ten. Even though you were seven, do you remember hearing it back then? yes I do. February 9, 1964 was my 7th birthday. That was also the first appearance by the Beatles on Ed Sullivan. I will never forget that evening as long as I live. After that, I listened to AM radio all the time so I became aware of the music scene from that point on. That is awesome that it was your birthday! I was a year younger but it was such a huge event even though I was so young-every one in our neighborhood was excited. It seemed to take forever until they came on but it was something I have never forgotten. My devotion to rock actually started a year later when I was 7, when we lived outside San Francisco for a little while. My dad won a transistor radio at work and gave it to me. We rode bikes everywhere and I attached it to my handlebars somehow and LOVED it! "Satisfaction" by the Rolling Stones was so popular at the time and I always say it's the first song I heard from my little radio and I have been listening to rock ever since :)
