  1. There ya go. Top 3 Peter Hammill related bands: VDDG PH solo K Group
  2. Actually the front cover should have just had the words "Please Put This In the Garbage," on it. I like HYF but I laughed me arse off.
  3. Bottom 5 Rush album for me You are both fools.
  4. Good stuff man. Dont worry about the tone, you come across just fine bud:)
  5. What are you talking about? Looks to me like tickets are still available. https://www.keybankc...entX.cshtml/692 I was linked to Ticketmaster earlier and they were out. Usually for Key Bank shows, that meant it was it. Well, I trust the venues page if they say tickets are still available. Maiden does paperless tickets so scalping will be very minimal for the show. I realize that now, half the time the Key Bank shows I've seen have been sold out. I just got the GA ticket, maybe I'll run into you there Yeah, I'll be the fat 40 year old white guy with the receeding hairline and beard. That should narrow it down for ya lol. I doubt anyone else will look like that! I'll be the skinny white guy with a Motorhead t-shirt. Ill be the guy with the Steely Dan tshirt.
  6. Change your life Change your wife.. Its going out of business Its give you the business Get on the business end of our going out of business sale...
  7. My embossed brain plate. Sorry, I cannot post a .gif at this time.
  8. it's possible you'd dig sacred blade, they're closer to maiden/early fates/early ryche than some of the other more thrashy bands I've mentioned voivod's run of nothingface, angel rat, and the outer limits is worth looking into - good production, heavy but not too abrasive, melodic I liked them, right up my alley at the time. I should reinvestigate.
  9. Deja f***ing vu!!! http://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/is-overrated-a-valid-critique-of-music.778518/
  10. Hemispheres I've come around to late, seems I was lukewarm on the title track until once about 3 or 4 years ago, I was like...Whoa!!!! wait a friggen sec....
  11. Great post, and hello welcome to this place. I guess it was a long process for me, the first album that came out as a fan was Hold Your Fire. Which coincided with my first cd player and my first cd. For a while I was probably obsessed with it as I have been for almost every album between Waves and Presto. Nowadays it is definitely not my favorite as its been pushed down quite a ways down, its just not as timeless as some other albums are. Hands down my favorite is Signals and will probably always be, its been roughly 30 years and I'm not changing my mind at this stage. ;). Just like Pink Floyd with Momentary Lapse, Animals is my favorite and has been for like 30 years and...Yes with 90125, CTTE is my favorite... you get the picture?
  12. I think it's supposed to be your favorite Rush album Mick. :P Great choice though. Probably the closest the Beatles ever got to what Queen would do on SHA and ANATO. The Beatles never needed to come close to Queen. And Queen never came close to The Beatles. So true, for both the sum is greater than the parts (true for Rush as well).
  13. Tom Sawyer is a good bathroom break at shows. Nothing exciting about it anymore I think you guys are on crack. Not the good kind. What can I tell you? If I can see them do the song live and not feel anything then the song obviously does nothing for me. Tom Sawyer is not the song that made me a fan. It was not a deciding factor in me wanting to explore the band further. I know for a lot of fans it was. It's a good song but if they never recorded it Rush would still be my favorite band. i knew Tom Sawyer before i got heavy into Rush. Honestly would never have pegged as THE rush tune. i mean it was always a fine tune but it never pumped me up for the band. that was Spirit of Radio for me. Mick I think for me it was a combo of Sprit, Freewill and Subdivisions with a little Fly By Night on the side.
  14. You've got this album in the wrong category... No it was released in 1980. Man! Wrong people can be so stubborn!! How can I be stubborn if I‘m not wrong?

  17. “I knew he was different in his sexuality..” Huh whaaaa??? Pratt come in here please...
  18. Great convo on this thread Bathory I wish i were younger as I think a bunch of the music you talk about would be right up my alley as a younger man. I still listen to the occasional Megadeth or Metallica and Im a big fan of Mastadon (as is my 8 year old). I can still get down with some Fates and am looking forward to the new DTbut they arent as much a favorite as a band that I do remotely follow. Im more a prog guy who still listens to Maiden on the regular so I can appreciate what they (DT). do as an older metal fan.
  19. You are still here. Didn't I tell you to get your shine box?
