  1. that and my laptop. sometimes at the same time. multitasking at it's finest.
  2. ...and that's why you're the pro Rod. I'd be hitting him with the weirdest left field questions he ever dealt with.
  3. Why do you love anything? A band, a food, a person? Because there's something visceral that moves you. 98% of music can drift by without getting my attention, but that 2% will stop me in my tracks and get my complete attention. Now bands have the interchange between members where a solo artist might not, so that's adds some collaborative spice, and potential drama, to it.
  4. I think they've said in the past that alot of his solos and playing are shoot from the hip and just keep the tape rolling in case the magic happens. Geddy and Terry Brown prune the magic from the rest. For example, the Tom Sawyer solo were bits and pieces of solos that Geddy and Terry pasted together. You'll also find a live Tom Sawyer recording pre-moving pictures where Alex is just shredding like the Freewill solo. I'd like to ask him if he was ever tempted, or allowed, to totally improvise a solo in concert. Oh yeah another question: why didn't they ever play Cut to the Chase in concert? Seems like it would be a good Rush concert song. I bet the answer would be that Al would have difficulty replicating the solo...it's a crazy bitch.
  5. fresh on youtube. Al's clearly on a promotional thing for Envy of None lately. Not much other than that. The interviewer is yappy and kind of annoying. Chicks in radio can't shut up.
  6. regardless of playoff seating, you'll need to win a road game eventually unless you're the top seed. so i see it as splitting hairs.
  7. Going with Morse, one of the most underrated guitarists IMO. Love his work with the Dregs and solo efforts that cover different genres. Gotta have balls to carry a band without having a vocalist (Dregs). I like Emmitt in Triumph but his sound never progressed beyond that. Multi-dimensional vs one-dimensional; multi always wins in my book.
  8. Proposed rule changes for next year: https://operations.nfl.com/updates/the-rules/2025-rules-change-proposals/ I like changing the playoff seating based on record; not giving division winners an automatic home game. That's how it is in other sports. Green Bay wants to ban the tush push. Not gonna happen. Detroit wants to take away automatic first down on defensive holding. Not gonna happen. Teach your DBs to not be so handsy. I like Philly's request to make overtime the same for playoffs and regular season. Not in the rule changes, but I find it strange that game day rosters can only be 46 but the active roster is 53. Active roster and game day roster should be the same.
  9. and yet it's their defense that can't stop a cold.
  10. sort of has an AIC feel to it, both in the music and the title.
  11. Do I want to be scammed out of some money or listen to the first Rush album on youtube for free? Perspective brought to you by Uncle Hemi.
  12. The singer has a very earthy Suzanne Vega voice. That said, I'm not a fan of Suzanne Vega. Alex said that they looked into doing a few shows but that they would lose money. So nothing more than a studio project until they get more demand. On a scale of 1-10 I'd give it 4 mehs, mostly for production value so nothing I would intentionally listen to.
  13. both excellent so this one will be close. but i must admit I never caught on to crimson after the first couple of albums. fripp is a genius , no doubt. but i enjoy listening to howe more. I found that as I get older, I just don't have the patience or attention span to listen to bands like ELP, Crimson, etc. ELP were gods to me back in the day but just too chaotic for my taste these days.
  14. he looked so frail you thought they would need to wheel him out in a wheelchair. The other 2 guys looked young enough to be his grandkids.
  15. Just disconnect that one blue cable. Op! not that one; the one on the left. Op! try the yellow cable.
  16. gotta go trower. saw him a few years ago and still wailing at his age.
  17. The area I moved to only has Speculum, I mean Spectrum. The xumo streaming box they provide is impressive so far. Pleasantly surprised by the stations that I wasn't expecting to get. The internet performance is less than advertised, but they always screw you there. 1 gig my ass. Still plenty zippy. I used to have ComcastXfinitySatan at my old house.
  18. great actor but an ornery SOB. Once left a movie set because he had the urge to start a bar fight.
  19. I have something that's worse that moving: cancelling my cable service. death by a thousand questions.
  20. it was down so long that I'm now living in another house. Just moved in this weekend. Ughhh not doing that again anytime soon. Should have hired movers....my back and knees are killing me.
  21. oh dear that's a threat to the computer gods. well done, but keep the mcgyver kit close by.
  22. tough one. respect both of them. I give the edge to Andy for his post-police work.
  23. the longer clapton is around, the more pedestrian his output. if hendrix survived, I think he would have ventured into jazz and become like miles davis.
  24. how could they turn down the buffet of big macs and mcnuggets ?!?!? Blasphemy!!
