  1. Here is Geddy's interview that confirms my statement.
  2. Give it a couple of weeks and it will end up on youtube.
  3. I think I read an interview once when they were listening to one of their songs in the studio control room (pretty sure it was rivendell) and fell asleep. Yeah that's me.
  4. Sorry to say, but as much as I admire Neil and his intelligence, his longer interviews can be kind of tiresome. We get it brainiac...you're smart so just dial back the wordfest.
  5. When the Olympics were in Canada a few years ago, there were strong rumors that Rush was going to play the Opening or Closing ceremony. I have a feeling that once they got the news that they were not going to be 'live' (other than vocals perhaps) that became the end of that idea. So sorry I'm not playing along with the fantasy idea of Rush playing the Superbowl. Won't happen. Never, Ever.
  6. Opening act last Chili Peppers tour was some techno band with no guitar player and some Asian chicky singer bouncing around the stage. Ugh. :bang bang:
  7. I'm the numerical equivelent of pi...3.14159...yadda, yadda, yadda. But then again, I've been know to be an irrational number. But seriously folks... Got all the albums, go to every concert I can (lately), merch emmm no I'm too old for rock n roll tshirts. I buy every original album but I don't fall for the box set money grab. One of my top favorite bands but it don't drool over any of them.
  8. I just got notice that my tickets were printed for the Chicago show. Per TM, for snail mail ticket delivery they say 10-14 days. I would think that they would mail it reasonably soon so people don't complain to their credit card companies about paying for something not received. If I don't get them in 3 weeks or so, I'll start pushing buttons with TM, but there's no hurry at this point. I know I should have done email delivery, but I was in a 'rush' and not clicking clearly.
  9. Center and aisle seats would be better.
  10. No doubt! Awesome singing and drumming. The next time I run into Neil, I'm gonna tell him 'so mr. 1500 year old log drum kit, there's this guy that can play your drum parts spot on AND sing like Geddy. Guess you're not so awesome afterall right?' And then he'll have Micheal kick my ass.
  11. i only know C++ :( well here's your chance to broaden your skills. Come early and bring your laptop.
  12. The only tip I have is for the most part, just put away the smartphone. Unless you have great seats in front, you won't get great pictures or video and it's annoying enough looking past heads without also having to look past smartphones. They will definately do a video release of this tour, so just wait to buy that and enjoy a professionally made video of the concert. Or if you're cheap like me, watch the free copy on youtube.
  13. My first concert was Signals tour in 83. Small hockey arena with 6000 max attendance. No floor seating so it was relatively easy to elbow your way up front. I didn't have a car so I took the city bus to the rink. Didn't have a ride home until I ran into some dorm buddies. But those were minor inconveniences...it was rush man. Don't remember much about the set list except it was obviously MP and Signals heavy.
  14. Rush is also the only band in the world where you can pick up some C# or Java programming tips from the guy sitting next to you. :fuckinputer:
  15. I think they would've been better served by playing something easier off the earlier albums...maybe What your doing or Something for nothing.
  16. I bet you $20 he needed to read the lyrics from a teleprompter or cue card. I bet he can't name more than 5 Rush albums. He's like an obnoxious wanna be fanboi who asks 'so have Rush put out any new albums lately?'
  17. I thought it was all about the cartoon they played during R30. Light one up and it will all make sense. :smoke:
  18. It's Ticketbastard's way of getting a piece of the scalping action. I took a look to see what fees they are charging the ticket holder for reselling. It's about $70 just in fees for floor seats in Chicago. All for handling a simple transaction that's automated. Outrageous.
  19. This is Chicago, which along with New York, LA, maybe Toronto, will probably be the most expensive tickets on the tour. They'll be close to selling out Chicago. Hence, the higher price. Plan B would be to see them in Detroit or Columbus, where I don't think the tickets will be as much.
  20. Beats me...I play guitar and don't really care about lyrics.
  21. I really don't get how any of those adjectives describe HYF I agree with Geddy's Soul Patch. Those adjectives, to describe Hold Your Fire? That leaves me...befuddled. It was described earlier as elevator music...that's pretty much in line with my post. I've played it probably less than 10 times.
  22. Umm no. The link in my email was taking me to a non-credit card site.
  23. Me thinks something fishy happened on the TM site. That's the only time I used the card in the last year.
  24. I used this a few days ago to get tickets on TM. Today I got a spoofing email asking me to verify purchases on my Citi card. I haven't used my Citi card in a year until now. So be careful if you used the (Sh)iti presale.
  25. HYF is their most consistently bad, bland, boring album. Was that the answer you were looking for? I refer to it as 'Hold Your Nose'.
