While I knew this was your first show, hearing these details is nice (not to mention mighty trusting parents - dropping their children off at a big arena right next to a river). My first show was August 1, 2002 in Bonner Springs. Had I been into them more and been able to swing it, 1997 may have been my first time.

Do you believe in rock and roll? I mean, Paul Stanley used to ask that in concert.- 22 replies

Then I am in the minority on this. GFTO and Drama may be my top 2.

Until a recording pops up, this is correct.

Pink Floyd: Albums Elimination (Round 6)
78jazz replied to _hi_water._'s topic in Music Of The Spheres
That album is top 3, and yet some dogs still survive. I am hoping the Wall gets sent home at some point. If The Final Cut can be sent packing, The Wall can too. -

Agreed on Yet Another Movie and on the Dogs of War. -
RPG: Hotter Than Hell vs. Bee Gees Greatest
78jazz replied to Entre_Perpetuo's topic in Music Of The Spheres
I just saw the man who wrote Parasite do it at a concert 10 days ago! I can`t vote here because I like Hotter Than Hell but generally prefer the Bee Gees to KISS. -

Tommy and Quadrophenia would like a word. Not to mention that at least Quadrophenia is much better. -

I really like it as well. Me too. Top 5? Hmmmmm............not quite but close I wonder if Analog Cub has it Dark Side thru the Wall plus Division Bell for top 5. I'm guessing he'll tell us now. Yep! 1. WYWH 2. Animals 3. DSOTM 4. The Wall 5. Division Bell Probably my top five as well, with the top four rotating based on what I feel like immersing myself into at a given moment. Meddle almost works its way in there but Seamus is just not good. The Wall will survive longer than it should and it has a LOT of junk. -
Pink Floyd: Albums Elimination (Round 1)

The Wall sold a lot of copies on this premise! Those kinds of things always get less interesting and less applicable the farther up one's a**hole one travels; The Wall was the burst of insight, The Final Cut was Waters disappearing into himself! That last sentence is funny! -

Iron Maiden: Albums Elimination (FINAL ROUND, PLEASE VOTE!!!)
78jazz replied to _hi_water._'s topic in Music Of The Spheres
This is hard. Piece has Where Eagles Dare, but Powerslave is probably bit a better overall in terms of songs. -
Props to this. I think I want to be aware when I am checking out as well.

Led Zeppelin: Albums Elimination (Round 5)

Then that is their problem. III has That`s the Way, their best acoustic tune IMNSHO. -

It looks like I am the first vote to eliminate it. -
They cancelled the closest shows for me to see.

Led Zeppelin: Albums Elimination (Round 3)

Nothing for me. Neither of those songs are good. III is an excellent album as is. -

Odd, because IMO Presence is one of their best albums. I am also surprised so many votes are here to send the debut packing. If PG is knocked off, IV will be my next one to try to send home. -
If Bonham had not died, would Led Zeppelin still be together?
78jazz replied to Rush Cocky's topic in Music Of The Spheres
Make no mistake: I was not suggesting influence, but rather just leaving space. I agree that it is simply conjecture. Your last statement is right on the money IMO. -

I think that if you also factor in where things were going in music in 1980, I suspect this would have also affected their morale. I have a hard time seeing them still being an active band come 1985. Ironically, I think Zeppelin packing it in in late 1980 gave space for The Police to become the biggest band in the word (even if just for a moment). -
Yes, I am doing alright.

Earl, your Mahomes comment made me laugh.

I still have long hair, but suspect that at the rate it is headed I may be cutting it off in about 10 years. I take no offense to this comment; if you are a male (especially with long hair) trying to retain that glory, let it go. Rarely does a man look better if he keeps the hair rather than ditching it.
