  1. I was there in the second row and it was a guy a couple seats over who yelled to Lerxst to shake it off. We were all amazed at what happened and we all agreed that he should just shake it off and continue on with the show which is exactly what he did after somebody from the front row hit him in the face with a bowling ball. That's why they've banned bowling balls at Rush concerts since that incident. However they haven't (yet) banned cinder blocks. So keep that in mind next time you go to a Rush concert.
  2. Yeah but he failed when he reached the finals...
  3. Good song, it seems to be about cycling or motorcycling. What's wrong with it?
  4. Crowds were dwindling during the tour, they even start calling it the "Down The Tubes Tour." So I figure they don't have fond memories of that album and touring.
  5. what in the world did Geddy get that caused this atrocity? http://i456.photobucket.com/albums/qq287/PanaceaFish/Geddy%20Lee%20Pix/Geddy124.jpg Rumor is that Alex got him a coonskin hat for Christmas one year, and Geddy loved it so much he wore it for a whole year.
  6. That's why he hates the fans so much. They might reveal him.
  7. Neil (Peart) reminds me of Neil (Armstrong) who also avoided the spotlight, because he didn't think of himself as a big hero, just an average guy do once did a good job at something.

    Old Rush Rumors

Has anyone heard any old Rush rumors from way back? Here's two I've heard from the olden days. Geddy's Change of Voice "When Rush started, Ged's voice was deeper... darker some would say. Then he was in a horrible motorcycle accident. After that his voice was much higher." So that rumor is laughable, just listen to the oldest stuff. I guess the idea is he crashed his motorcycle and banged his crotch on the handlebars really hard, leading to his high squeaky voice. Lol. The Thief Alex Lifeson "Alex would frequent bars in the Toronto area, looking for good riffs from unknown bands. He stole the best ones. His career is based on plagiarism" That rumor disturbed me for a long time, but in hindsight, I've never seen any examples of it. Nowadays, if there was some "soundalike" riffs, someone would have posted it on youtube for all to see. Any other rumors?
  9. That^^^. Also some fans think of him as a god-like character... which is nonsense, why should Neil give them the time of day if they're that deluded?
  10. You should see a doctor about them there mood swings!
  11. Yes, what song best represents your current state of mind, or situation in life.
  12. Currently, I am Marathon. No that title is not a typo. I actually want to know, "what Rush song are you?" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rP58U_R3gK0
  13. ... disappear into obscurity... sounds like a good idea for some forum members.
  14. I rate myself a solid '2' !
  15. I'm a True Rush Fan, because I've pirated every album and DVD from BitTorrent!
  16. I consider myself a True Rush Fan. I live my life according to the lyrics of their breakout hit, "Welcome to the Jungle."
  17. The True Rush Fan is the type who drives his red Barchetta while drinking McCallans scotch and reading an Ayn Rand novel. Anything less makes you a Rush Apostate. You are not cool, and will be cast out!
  18. Has anyone read the six issues of the Clockwork Angels comics? I saw a few excerpts here and there, couldn't really get a "feel" for it. Do you think that a 13 year old kid would like it? Or would it be too boring? Hard to tell...
  19. 1. Clockwork Angels is good and not mediocre. (Same with SA & VT). 2. See above. 3. So they're expected to play for MORE than three hours per show??? 4. They only produce what people want.
  20. The details should be obvious to any involved Rush fan, imo, but to sum it up: they cashed-out their integrity long ago. In which way did they lose integrity?
  21. It's gone "unplugged"... the ukelele, banjo, and tambourine remix!
  22. All their old critics have died or retired, Rush has outlasted them all!
  23. Hold Your Fire seems to be one long smooth easy-listening ride of elevator music. (In a good way of course!) :D
