  1. 50 and 80 discs though? That's total Overkill(great band by the way) All the unreleased material that Rush have on tape, can easily fit on a few discs(I assume).
  2. Really cool gesture. I've given 2 Rush tickets away for free before, but for friends. I will be going to this same show with a co worker. We're in section 115 Row FF(row 6). I hope someone takes advantage of this offer, but for the right reasons. If it was for the Friday Toronto show, I would pay face value. I'm going to the Wednesday show. I'm also seeing them in Newark and NYC. 100 level tickets for all 4 shows and I'm going solo for all except Montreal. Will be a great 2 weeks of Rush viewing.
  3. I'll be going to the MSG and Newark shows alone as well. I'm making the trek from Canada. Just a question to those who have taken the Path or NJTransit back to Manhattan after the Newark shows before. Is there someone at a counter who sells the train tickets at that time at night at Penn Station Newark? Because I read on the site that a ticket is only good for a certain amount of time after I buy it, and that time slot is less than the length of a Rush show, so I wouldn't be able to buy it before. Plus...I plan on being at Edison's Ale House at around 5.
  4. Alright...I guess I will give this a go. I based this setlist off of songs they have to play, songs I want them to play of course and songs I want them to play that have not been filmed on a modern DVD/Bluray, which is essential for me. Set One R40 Medley(8:00) By-Tor & The Snow Dog Chain Lightning/Show Don't Tell Alien Shore/Cut To The Chase Mal-Nar Prime Mover Kid Gloves Ghost of A Chance YYZ Ceiling Unlimited/Peaceable Kingdom The Anarchist A Passage To Bangkok Working Man Set Two The Spirit of Radio Freewill Red Barchetta Subdivisions Closer To The Heart/Cinderella Man Driven/Test For Echo Drum Solo(7:00) Guitar Solo leading into Broone's Bane(3:30) The Trees La Villa Strangiato The Weapon/Digital Man Jacob's Ladder Natural Science Encore Xanadu(full) 2112:Overture The Temples of Syrinx Grand Finale Tom Sawyer / = Night A Night B I also added everything up, and the 1st set total's 1hr and 10 minutes, and the 2nd set total's 1hr and 18 minutes. I used the time of the longest song for Night A Night B songs for the calculations. The Encore is 25 minutes. Along with the opening video for set one and for set two at about 2 or 3 minutes each, and a 15 minute intermission, that total's 3hrs and 14 minutes, stretching to 3hrs and 18 minutes with in between song banter throughout the show, and the couple minutes video and cheering from the crowd before the encore, making it 3hrs and 21 minutes I guess. If I were to take out 1 song from each set to make it closer to just 3 hours, I would take out Ghost of A Chance and Mal Nar from set one and The Weapon/Digital Man from set 2. I tried making this as realistic as possible.
  5. Just came across this funny photo on google from the last tour :D http://www.pdifx.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/2d6f3d537e.jpg
  6. So I live in Ottawa, and I've traveled solo to Toronto, and Hamilton to see Rush. I've seen them in Montreal twice with friends. For this tour, I'm going to Toronto(first night) alone again, as well as New York and Newark. Finally...I'm getting a 48 year old co worker who loves old Rush( and can play a lot of those songs on guitar) to come with me to the Montreal show. I'm excited to have him there. He hasn't seen them since the Roll The Bones tour and only started listening to them because he met me 6 years ago. My friends don't understand why I see them so much. They think 2 or 3 times is enough. What they don't understand is that every tour is different. The setlist, the lights, the video screens, the stage setup, the vibe, the feel of the show, etc... By no means are they judging me for loving Rush so much, but they definitely think it's odd that I travel(especially solo) to see a rock band. But they just don't understand what it's like to love a band so much that seeing them in different cities is fun, and cool and interesting. They know that other people see them even more times than I do per tour, because I've shown them the posts and the documentary. But they think those people are crazy for spending that much money on ticket's, travel, hotels, etc... In any case...do your friends or co workers think your nuts for traveling to see them? I've only been into Rush since 2007 and after this tour, I will have seen them 11 times(Once on S&A, twice on Time Machine, 4 times on CA, and now another 4 times on this tour). I don't think that's excessive at all, and if I had more money, I would have gone to the Chicago and Denver, or San Jose and LA shows as well. Possibly Boston and Philly. The last 2 tours, I said I wanted to see them in Boston or NYC and I just didn't do it. This time, I made sure I went to NYC, and I figured why not go to the Newark show as well. Seeing my fav band on their final big tour in the most famous arena in the world, and finally getting to visit NYC is going to be a great weekend. I'll be 30 in April and it's time to see the big apple.
