  1. This dog has something to say about it
  2. Okay, I got to the part where she talked about dogs being mammals, that is humans - no, part of the animal kingdom that God created. That's when I threw up in my mouth! I have a feeling it is women like her that's the reason I don't feel attracted to blondes. Edit: I wonder how many just turn the volume down and just look at her? Seems like she knows what draws attention.
  3. The last idiot is not born yet, so I wouldn't hold my breath on that :P
  4. It was Neil Peart, wasn't it. LMAO!!!!!! nahhh, this guy was a skinny, arrogant dweeb. :P Wait a minute ...
  5. I liked the part where he talks about taking E and listening to Tool with his wife. I know he is cool, but damn!
  6. When I was 17 to 19 I was living with my older brother and dad, after my parents were divorcing. My dad was working a lot of hours in another city 2 hours drive away, so I took care of the household and got my little sister to school the days she was staying with my dad. Anyway I digress, but one day I come home and my dad had come home from work. He had bought the Rush In Rio dvd and it was playing on the stereo. My initial reaction was that it was challenging, but liked how heavy they sounded without actually being heavy. We ended up watching that dvd from start to finish over and over again, too many times to count. It was great having that time with my dad just to myself, over something that interested us both. We would always geek over guitars and guitar amplifiers. Even though my parents were divorced back then (it wasn't nasty though), it was such a great time back then. I miss it
  7. While I didn't understand your answer in context to this thread, I must say that it's always a pleasure watching your signature pics. Except for that dude in the middle, can't you replace him something more ... hmm like the others ;)
  8. I somehow hope Rush never gets on the cover of Rolling Stones. It would the ultimate :musicnote: "you didn't listen again" as a reminder of one of the biggest mistakes that magazine ever made of not acknowledging them.
  9. Way better than the leaked trailer. I like the slow-motion shots, very tasty indeed. Had to watch it three times in a row :P
  10. Not that I know of, unfortunately.
  11. So, isn't this just a very exciting time to be a Rush fan? Let's face it, they released Clockwork Angels which was received well both with fans and also critics, they toured the album which also went well with the string ensemble, the inclusion into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, a new live DVD is coming soon and now the Vapor Trails Remixed. I have a feeling the future looks very bright in Rush land It's been a long time coming but I feel like they finally get the kudos they deserved. :)
  12. Apple Lossless to be precise. 16 bit 44.1 khz. I wish itunes came with FLAC support though. Edit: I'm not sure if there would be that much of a difference if any, between lossy formats and uncompressed? I would suppose that dynamic range doesn't care about frequencies but only RMS values. Haven't tested it but just food for thought.
  13. Too me this remixed version just keeps climbing up the latter. It goes up the latter, goes higher and higher and higher, until its musical consciousness grows deeper and deeper and deeper. Vapor Trails was the first Rush album I got into at a time when I knew nothing about sound quality. As my ears became musically trained the album fell by the wayside, and with this remix I can finally listen to it again. To me it stands as one of their strongest efforts. Many don't agree with me and I'm okay with that. I personally appreciate a band that has given it a hell of a squirt of rock sauce! ;)
  14. Here is some data from the remixed version. Notice how there is no clipping. That's beauty, eh? I wouldn't be surprised to see that top at 9 or 10.
  15. I just made a killer riff. It's so killer I can't play it for anybody ... it would kill them :P
  16. I love the term megawatt smile :D
  17. They are a lot more clear especially the kick drum is audible.
  18. I haven't heard the Retrospective version as I prefer the original versions. Vapor Trails Remixed is an exception from the rule, as I don't miss anything from the 2002 version
  19. Geddy Lee from Rush interview with Martyn Lee: http://network.absoluteradio.co.uk/core/podcasts/rss.php?meta=166 Chad Smith in conversation with Alex Lifeson: http://mos.musicradar.com/podcasts/rss/musicradar-podcast.xml

  21. Funny though that is what I like about that song. The gritty pounding verses with Geddy's vocal lines on top. The way he sings them and the melody is a nice contrast to the instruments. :) I'm talking about the part with the words: Justice against the hanged man Knight of Wands against the hour Swords against the kingdom Time against the tower and then again on : The hermit against the lovers Or the devil against the fool Swords against the kingdom The wheel against the rules I am too :D
  22. Don't have any kids but I have a niece who is not even a year old, so plenty of time to influence her :)

  24. I'll admit that I thought that story was taking a turn for the worse. Glad that it didn't :)
