  1. Happy Birthday Lorraine, hope it's a good one!
  2. I had it last year and had the same experience a few times of thinking I was getting better and starting to resume a little bit of activity but then relapsing. You've got to continue to rest as much as possible even if you think you're starting to recover. Thanks, GM. I have no choice but to rest, cause energy wise I'm shot. If it weren't for both Rocky's and my lack of food, I would have never gone out.
  3. Up and down, shit! I was getting better Saturday and Sunday. Some aches, but temperature back down to normal. Monday, went out shopping since both Rocky and I were running out of food. The heat made me a litttle tired, but I got through it...Oh, the fantasy... ...Woke up this morning and relapsed. Fever, and another round of the aches and chill shakes, although not the Parkinson's like tremors of Thursday. Taking Tylenol, but spacing doses way out because I maxing the daily dose. Loading up on Coke and Gatorade, too. Feeling a tiny bit better, but being cautious.
  4. Habs in OT, after killing a double minor. Back to Tampa.
  5. GACK! The Evil Double Post Monster strikes again.
  6. Monday was traditionally a night for botànà in the Bear household. That, and a cold cerveza.
  7. RIP Mary. Anybody on the board who is of The Faith saying Kaddish for her soul?
  8. Outstanding! Welcome to The Federation.
  9. Rocky snoozed through the majority of the fireworks again tonight. He still recognizes me visually, comes running when I appear to let him in when he's out but I am pretty sure his hearing is shot. Not sure if my Vet can offer an explanation. How old is he? He's 14+. And take it from a former dogcatcher, Rush's and the the rest of the world's assertions about 1 dog year equaling 7 human years isn't necessarily so. Thers are multiple factors like actual age, size, breeding, etc. For him, it figures out to about 89. Makes him older than I am! Better for him that he can't hear the fireworks. I wish I couldn't hear them. I'm sure it's just his age that has made his hearing go. Your dog has been through a lot. He's been a good companion. But now I'm concerned as to having him boarded somewhere while I head to MI for combination finish dispersal of Karen's effects/vaca with family & friends. Was initially planning on three weeks there-it's been Y-E-A-R-S since I've had a real trip away from home! There may be people your vet could recommend that go to your place a couple of times a day to feed him and let him out or even walk him. That's generally less stressful than going to a strange place with strange dogs. You might could contact some local dog trainers who would have that info too or just internet search. Thanks, but the house is still in disarray from getting stuff out after losing Karen, so I don't want a "pet sitter" He's been boarded away from home before, just for not as long as I'm planning to be away. There are boarding facilities and dog "resorts" in the area, and I have no problems paying for them. The trip is part vacation for me; haven't had a real vacation in a decade. I'm also clearing up final issues of property bequeathed by Karen as part of her will. Both of these have already been delayed by a over a year thanks to the 'rona. If I don't get this done when planned in September, the window closes until next May; not sure I could physically, or mentally, make it till then. Jeez, such a mess!

  13. 4 confirmed dead, 159 still unaccounted for. Aside from residents who evacuated shortly after the collapse, only 1 teenage male was pulled from the rubble alive and survivng shortly after collapse. His mother was also recovered, but either died at the hospital or was DOA. Onsite press conference scheduled for 10:30, local TV coverage has been almost continuous.Press conference edit: 4 dead, 127 accounted for,159 unaccounted for, 37 rescued from building, 2 pulled from rubble. Rescue efforts hampered by fire deep within rubble, source location unknown, likely burning vehicles. The remains of the condo was just brought down in a controlled demolition explosion. The demo was performed by Controlled Demolition Inc. Classic demo collapse, came down without a hitch.
  14. ELP, Disraeli Gears, and Trilogy. Well, not exactly. Let's go backwards. Didn't listen to either yesterday, but as good as the studio part of Wheels was, I was not impressed with the live side. The only song that should have been long was Toad. Trilogy was a masterpiece from start to finish. Disraeli Gears was a classic. BSS out of the studio was meh, but the same music live was otherworldly. Think California Jam and the Welcome Back My Friends album. Christ, I wore out two vinyl copies of WBMF before getting it on CD. Overall, ELP over Cream. Fresh Cream and Disraeli Gears were monsters, but it went down the tubes from there.
  15. LZ, due to my age and albums' timing. First interest in Rush was due to ESL.
  16. Still a slight headache from whatever this "bug" I caught, but that's it. Appetite mostly back, ate a normal breakfast this morning but no lunch. Too hot (93°) to go out, and the local asse houles have started up with the fireworks. I also want to keep an eye on Rocky to verify my worries about his hearing.
  17. ESPN had major technical issues during the broadcast of the 2021 Nathan's Contest. They got some 'splainin to do.
  18. Idiots starting up the fireworks, big and loud. Problem is Rocky is just snoozing in his cage. Lately I had noticed he responds to visual stimuli much more than audio, but this might confirm it. He has suffered some sort of severe, and permanent, hearing loss.
  19. I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night, so I will diagnose your case as classic flu. :) Yeah, BTDT, Hong Kong A flu in late '68. But the chills then were minor compared to last night. PCP and I had a telephone appoinment at 3:20, he said sound like symptoms of Covid. Asked about vaccination and testing (yes and no respectively), asked when I could get in for the test. I told him 20 minutes, and he said come on in. They were ready for me when I arrived, got the Q-tips in the nostrils, they will call me for a follow-up. And so it goes. You didn't say if you have already been vaccinated for Covid, hope you are ok. Yeah, received both doses of the Pfizer vaccine in late February and March. But more and more it's looking like PM was right, just a case of flu. Temperature back to normal, slept straight through for seven hours. Still a little achy, and not much of an apetite.

  21. I got hit with something around 9:30 last night. Headache, slight body aches and a vile case of the chills. Talk about shakin' all over, I was banging the stylus of my tablet against the screen like a woodpecker attacking a bug in a tree, or a palsy similar to Parkinson's. Tempature 98.8°F. Started with the Tylenol and fluids, had a fitul nights sleep. Rocky woke me up at 7 this morning, let him out and back in, temperature spike to 102.3! More Tylenol and fluids, called my PCP's office and advised them, waiting for a call back. Not as achy or chilled as last night. As it's just Rocky and I, will likely self quarrantine at home. To be continued. Shite!
  22. Hearing an automobile horn reminds me of Autobahn by Kraftwerk.
  23. Has she been given authority to remove anyone who shouts something unfunny a millisecond after the golfer hits from the premises? Not likely, more solidly built security are probably "hiding" in the red polo shirts that are part of the uniform.
  24. My niece/goddaughter is at Detroit Golf Club this weekend, assisting with spectator traffic control at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.
