Should Rush keep "The Pass" permanently in the setlist?
RushBoingo replied to Disk98's topic in On The Lighted Stage
Needs to stay. Bravado is way to overated for me anyway. I can honestly say I completely forgot they could play that song when plotting out my ideal rush list which did include half of power windows and the analog kid among others. It was truly an emotional song that night in winnipeg. Rush was surprisingly active (including an amazingly fast improv dreamline solo) for a city they don't visit often. -
For an R40 I would think it would be a good idea to start where they left off from R30. Play a medly of songs from MP to Presto then a song from Roll the Bones. I would suggest: The Camera Eye (The intro) Digital Man Kid Gloves Middletown Dreams Lock and Key Superconductor then play Dreamline I would also suggest an alternative route of playing the most popular songs off each album, but that would take out so many songs I would want to hear in full. I also excluded the songs from fear as I really think the fear series should be played.

RUSH to take "substantial" break after CA tour
RushBoingo replied to Mystic Rythm's topic in On The Lighted Stage
Alex mentioned they have plans up to 2014 on the eddie trunk rush show, so I would assume some recognition that the "R40" will occur. I don't think they will ever fully stop existing as a band until age stops them, but I can see a change from tours to special shows, and when they agree they are not that well off to play live they will a final show, but I don't think the writting will stop. I also can still see appearances by Alex and Geddy on things like the Juno Awards and Canada's New Years Festivities and being agnowledged as 2/3s of Rush -
Loads in winnipeg

I wish he sang Goldeyes cap when they were in Winnipeg, but since they are not in the MLB I guess not.

Sorry I should elaborate, just because you havent seen the song open the show does not mean that you can't vote for them, just to think that a specific song was the best choice they made thus far is good enough

Power Windows

The Big Money is my all time favorite song, but Grand designs and Marathon are in the top ten so it's hard not to vote for them too

I was curious to see what everyone thought was the best show opener Rush has chosen in the past. The choices are from the A Farewell to Kings Tour onward as that was when they started having a consistent setlist. My Choice is the Big Money

Yeah, it's about my third least favorite, The Accoustic intro and the Bridge are great, but the rest is kind of meh compared to the rest of the album

Went with Halo effect, I am actually tied with Seven Cities for this one, but I had to pick one, Seven cities is better musically, Halo effect is better lyrically, Music is more important to me so there. Still a good song though
