  1. Average movie at best. I hate the fact that I spent $$$ to watch Tobey Maguire dance around like a disco boy and gawk at the ladies. Not enough character development, too many villains in one flick. Overall watchable but forgettable.
  2. Hey All... Does anyone else think Nicholson overacted during this flick?? I really liked the movie, but it just seemed to me that he was a tad over the top...I could be wrong. Just wondered if anyone else agrees. Loved all other characters.
  3. LOS ANGELES (Oct. 10) - Kiefer Sutherland pleaded no contest Tuesday in his drunken driving case and will begin serving a 48-day jail sentence while his Fox TV drama "24" begins its winter production break in December. The show's star agreed to serve 30 days for driving with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit of .08 percent, as well as 18 days for violating his probation for a 2004 drunken driving case, according to court records. The actor was not in the courtroom and his attorney, Blair Berk, entered the plea agreement. A second misdemeanor charge, driving under the influence, was dropped. The charges stemmed from a traffic stop in Los Angeles last month. As part of the arrangement, Sutherland must also enroll in an 18-month alcohol-education class and attend weekly alcohol-therapy sessions for six months. "I'm very disappointed in myself for the poor judgment I exhibited recently, and I'm deeply sorry for the disappointment and distress this has caused my family, friends and co-workers on `24' and at 20th Century Fox," Sutherland said in a statement. While early releases have been granted to others, including celebrities, because of jail crowding and other concerns, Sutherland must serve all of his time, according to the plea agreement. The sheriff also was specifically ordered to not release Sutherland to electronic monitoring. The 40-year-old actor will officially be sentenced Dec. 21, when he must begin serving the 18 days in the county jail. It also is the same day his show begins its winter production break. Sutherland then will have until July 1, 2008, to serve the remaining 30 days in jail. He will be on probation for five years and faces fines and a driving suspension, according to court documents. The actor's plea arrangement ensures that production of "24" will not be interrupted, Fox officials said in a statement. "Kiefer made clear to us at the time of his arrest that his first concern was the welfare of those he worked with and that he intended to do whatever was necessary to prevent shutting down the show because of his situation," the statement said. "He told us that even if he had to sacrifice more time in custody in order to protect the show and the jobs of those who work with him, he would do so. From what occurred today, it is evident he is a man of his word," it said. Sutherland also has a 1993 conviction for alcohol-related reckless driving, according to the city attorney's office. He won a best actor Emmy last year for his performance as dashing federal counter-terrorist agent Jack Bauer on "24."
  4. I am 43 now....I watched that old series with Darren McGavin from age 8-11. I absolutely loved it. I never missed it and to this day I remember how it made me feel each week...how the excitement would build during the days leading up to the show. They eventually ran out of ideas, but to an excited child that show rocked.....
  5. Yeah.... I kinda guess I did. Maybe I just hoped for a bit more class from them. I have never missed a concert tour and love the band as a whole. Individually, Alex is an ok rock drummer, Michael was an ok bassist and incredible singer, love both Sammy and Dave, and Edward is a legend....together they are simply incredible. I personally just thought they could have done much better than 0U812 and F.U.C.K..... I hate explaning that one to my kids. I don't find it cool. I do love the songs on the album though. I think it would have been entertaining to be sitting in a room with the guys from Van Halen and they are all completely drunk on tequila and Sammy says to Ed...."Hey Ed, let's name our new album 0U812...that will show that son-of-a-bitch Dave we can one-up him!....or maybe Ed said it to Sammy....and to follow it up...when they are even more strung out on drugs and booze they say to each other..."I know, lets be the first to name our album F.U.C.K.!!! Wouldn't that be great!!!!!!! Disappointing to me and I'll bet lots of other hardcore Van Halen fans. I could never see Geddy and Alex hearing Neil say, I know, lets name our next album S.H.I.T.
  6. QUOTE (ILSnwdog @ Sep 26 2007, 11:05 AM) I think I might listen to a little Brittney Spears today!
  7. Oh, And I can't wait for Van Halen I and For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge reviews................
  8. I always thought it was pretty stupid of Van Halen to follow David Lee Roth's "Eat 'Em and Smile" release with the album "0U812"...(Oh You Ate One Too....) Always seemed to me immature and tasteless....they were too established and great to have to be so 'tongue-in cheek'.....I liked it better than 5150, but I hated the title. Nice reviews!!!
  9. Congrats to Terry O'Quinn regarding his Emmy Award win for Best Supporting Actor for his role of John Locke on Lost!!!!!! Way to Go Terry!
  10. I couldn't get into V for Vendetta. I tried three times. Probably just me.... Anyone else??
  11. QUOTE (Storm Shadow @ Sep 15 2007, 07:44 PM) I've said this on here before and no one agreed with me, but I stand by my opinion that Contact is one of the worst movies ever, solely for the ending. Rest in Pieces....ugh, it has an awesome 80s cheesy horror cover, but what you get is a bad foreign soap opera where like one person gets stabbed off camera. House of the Dead - Uwe Boll really outdid himself with this shittastic piece of shit. Hey guys, I loved the f***ing bullet time effects every two seconds, that wasn't annoying at all. The Grudge - The most boring movie I've ever tried to watch. I just turned it off. Wow....I loved Contact!
  12. my favorite was Anagram for Mongo....
  13. Does anyone think that the fade to black could represent Tony getting whacked? Maybe it was to represent that he no longer ceased to exist. I know it left it very open ended and all but maybe that could be one interpretation....
  14. I've seen a lot of bizarro disturbing stuff, but I swear the flagellation scene in The Passion Of The Christ was over the top. I remember hearing of several cases of cardiac arrest occurring across the US while that movie was in theaters. Yeah....Irreversible fire extinguisher scene Curbstomp in American History X all three of these made me feel ill......
  15. So....season's over.... what do you all think??? I for one would have to say this was bar none the worst season of 24. Sad after Kiefer won last years best actor award, and didn't the show win best drama too??? I can't recall.... Started interestingly enough, but the writing and character plot lines consistently disappointed me and I have to say I was left very flat and expected much much more from my favorite TV show.... The writing is on the wall for problems in the future...
  16. Never thought I would see the day when Lost kicks 24's ass but it has happened!!!!!!!!!!
  17. maybe a bit more exciting tonight.....hope the twp hour finale delivers!
  18. Oh crap! I can't believe what happened tonight.... I am so pissed!!! Spoiler below......... Locke was my favorite character!!!!!!!! Oh crap!
  19. I was a bit disappointed with last night's episode....anyone else agree???
  20. Finally a great show.....I loved the ending with Jack literally kicking everyone's ass...... (((((warning: spoilers ahead))))) I mean, the guy is less than one day out of Chinese prison, looks like he did some time in The Passion of The Christ if you remember what his back looked like....yet he single handedly takes on I think six guys, runs out of bullets, runs at Fayed full speed while he is shooting at him and throws his gun at him and tackles him and does the John McClane on him.... Doyle walks in and just looks over at him and shakes his head and just says "Jack" like WTF dude you just took out the whole terrorist cell. Everyone in the room at my house was cheering like at a football game! Now seven episodes left I think....I assume he is going to go and get a little Chinese ass to exact some revenge upon!!!!!!!!!!
  21. QUOTE (Storm Shadow @ Mar 30 2007, 07:27 AM) House of the Dead - Uwe Boll really out did himself with this one. Even the great Clint Howard couldn't save it. Rest in Pieces - I love bad horror movies from the 80s and when I was younger I'd always go rent things with cheesy covers, hoping they'd be hilariously bad. This movie had a cool cover with a zombie jumping out of a grave, but the movie was like an episode of a soap opera where only one person got stabbed...and you didn't even see it. and f***ing Contact
  22. Is Hopkins' character somewhat like the Hannibal Lecter character?
  23. Hitchcock, Kubrick, Spielberg and Scorsese I believe have the most movies in the Internet Movie Database collection of the top 250.... I have to disagree with anyone who says Spielberg is overated. You may not like him personally, but his numbers don't lie. There are huge numbers of people think he is unreal. Hitchcock, though quirky, has made an incredible mark. I counted 9 films in the top 250. People forget just how many Kubrick has made that were awesome...I think he has 8 in the top 250. Next is Spielberg then Scorsese. I believe Coppola has 4, 3 of which are in the top 35. Together these 5 guys have made 31 of the top 250 if I have done my research correctly....
