  1. This song has a real "The Who" vibe to it.
  2. I bet he's probably spent about a month at home.
  3. The Wolfman. Pretty good though predictable. I still see Benicio del Toro as the dead talking pimp in Sin City.
  4. Logan. What a sad movie. Really took me by surprise. Other than that, I liked it.
  5. Odd choice for an interviewer but anything with Geddy I will watch.
  6. Just saw him a few weeks ago in Twin Peaks. What a great actor and the people who have met him said he was very sweet.
  7. You make a great point Toymaker But as you point out, suffering and loss is universal .. It is one thing to feel animosity or anger towards other human beings, but another thing altogether to write it in a book .. Loss and the gut wrenching realities in life can take people into some unpleasant places, but it is up to that person to make the decision which way is out .. Do I resent and despise others, or do I find the bond and spark we all share - and see life and all living things as they are - precious and to be respected .. Neil has professed that over and over in his lyrics We all say shit we don't mean and we all have our boiling point .. As I mentioned, Neil has played a big role in a very happy and positive place in my life .. but to see him come across as he has, I have lost some respect for him .. What he wrote was cowardly, and if picking on people for being overweight or typically American or being less educated is his way of coping with loss - instead of doing something positive like volunteer work or at least sympathizing with the hell that life can be for all people - then I'm not going to have a whole lot of respect for him as a man People put him up on a pedestal because he's famous and they can identify with some of the lyrics he has written. But he is as human as the rest of us and with the same issues.
  8. Yeah, some people are just greedy and/or short-sighted with their hobbies and other things they enjoy. And, for some Rush fans, this unfortunately includes the band. Whatever way Neil was going to retire, it was going to bother some folks. "He could've kept going", "I wish he had done it another way", "True artists and musicians never stop", etc. Gene Simmons will endorse your post JB for 5000 USD. Gene knows about overly obsessed fans. Why else would there be Kiss coffins and toilet paper for sale? "...you like my 7-inch leather heels and going to all of the shows BUT..." Yep! I surprised they don't market a 7 inch "Love Gun" strap on or dildo. Even GHOST has Papa dildos and anal plugs for sale! What do KISS, RUSH and GHOST all have in common? MARKETING GENIUSES! The Alex Lifeson golf club set. The Neil Peart drummer/biker gloves combo. Geddy Lee sunglasses. Are these things on the market? I'm joking of course but I wouldn't doubt that one or all of these could sell. I could see Alex marketing his own golf clubs! That would sell! There was a bag for sale on backstage club at one time.
  9. Get the remix. This. Anyone judging this record based on the original mix, when the re-mix fixes so much -- including adding guitar solos back in -- is just being a dumbass. You can't fix crap when the original tracks are stinky. The remix just put some polish on a turd.
  10. I saw it the other night and thought it was a bit annoying how they felt like they had to insert a joke every two minutes. It felt very contrived. I wanted to like the show but based on the premiere episode, I don't know that I care to watch any more.
  11. I don't think Neil has been interested in hanging out with these guys much at all since even before his tragedy. If it wasn't obvious to them it certainly was from the outside.
  12. To me a mustache alone looks very effeminate. So many gay men have them.
  13. Probably to put to bed any lingering discussions (here on TRF) about the possibility that Neil might maybe think about possibly getting back with Ged and Al and maybe possibly writing a new album. Exactly. I think music making has become drudgery for Neil in the last 20 years. He did it to make a living but I never got much of an impression he enjoyed it after TFE. He's much more involved in traveloguing and spending time with his family at this point in his life.
  14. And when he cuts it open…
  15. I always think of Kramer. Hahaha!
  16. Eraserhead. Nightmares I tell ya. Nightmares.
  17. I think it depends on the man. Just like hairstyles, it's all individualistic.
  18. Of those 3, only hate VTs. It's more sadness than hate.
  19. Foo's easily.
  20. Why? It's perfect the way it is. Did you even bother to read the post above mine? It was meant as a joke. And a way to have fun here. You don't have to participate. I know it was meant as a joke. I was just saying it's perfect as is.
  21. Vapor Trails, Presto and CA are my least favorite albums from worst to barely less than terrible.
  22. I was at this gig. I was there too. You could see how pissed he was but of course held himself together. For some reason I felt the band felt tense and forced for the first set. Maybe my memory is playing tricks on me. However, I doubt Rush mistakes or glitches would even be noticed at others' concerts. It's no wonder he was pissed since they were filming that show.
  23. I liked this one. There's a certain elegant visual aesthetic to the Prometheus movies, that the earlier Alien movies lacked. A more complete use of Giger's world, not just the alien itself, but all the world around it. I fully agree!!! I really liked this one, it's much better than Prometheus. Covenant still hasn't arrived here. I'll probably watch it (no thanks to Prometheus). I liked the first hour or so of Prometheus but it got worse and worse the closer it got to the end. Especially the last half hour was a big let down. I thought this movie was extremely boring. It's also one of those movies where you yell at the screen because the characters are so stupid. Also the baby alien was hilarious. Yeah? So far the Alien series has gotten worse and worse. I'd grade them like this... Alien: A+ Aliens: A Alien 3: C Alien Resurrection: D Prometheus: F !!! Covenant: (tbd) I pretty much agree with this except I would give Aliens an A+. What would you give Covenant? D-
  24. Happy Birthday, Neil.
