  1. Wow. All those forests burning up... :( The air quality index is up to 245. It's hard to breathe outside because there are a lot of particles in the air that make you sneeze and cough. http://khq.images.worldnow.com/images/11485754_G.jpg :( http://khq.images.worldnow.com/images/8608033_G.jpg Yeah looks really bad. Between the fires on the west coast, floods in the south and Irma coming from the east, I'm waiting for a polar bear invasion to come from the north.
  2. 40th anniversary!? God I feel old. http://uproxx.files.wordpress.com/2015/04/yourfamilyormine_richarddreyfuss_1200.jpg?quality=100&w=650 The little little kid who was abducted is a few months older than me! Sheesh!!! Wow. I was 17 when the movie came out.
  3. If you watch the extras they kind of explain the translations thing. They have to change the words to what will actually fit the mouth movements in English so sometimes they have to be kind of liberal with the translation. Ahhh okay. Thanks for that. It makes sense. The mistakes I found were just nuances, nothing major. But it was different from what the character actually said. I'm thinking specifically the mum on a few occasions. No extras were available for me to watch. I know on several of the Miyazaki films they have in the extra section a thing with the actors and how they explain how they did the voice work for the American version. They try to get as close to the exact translation as they can but sometimes they have to improvise a bit due to the mouth movements not lining up very well. I've watched the movies with subtitles and in English but I think they seem to be very well done.

  6. I think their goofy side really contrasted with the seriousness of their music and a lot of people just didn't get it.
  7. Rivendell isn't one of my favorite songs but I don't hate it. It's just wimpy. All the rest of the songs are way up there for me. Anthem, Fly By Night and By-Tor are probably my three favorites but that's not to degrade any of the others. Definitely in the top 10.

I have a friend that lives in Bend, Oregon and she's been posting pics on Facebook of the sky and how bad it is. My nephew also lives there out there. He's really been suffering a lot with his sinuses. Nasal irrigation with saline solution has been helping him.
  9. Wonderful post, Lucas. I lost my mom back in 2011and like yours, she was very outspoken and a strong independent woman. My heart goes out to you. It's really tough losing your mom, no matter what the circumstances.
  10. Between the Wheels doesn't have a lot of real bass.
  11. I hope you reconsider blaming Neil for every choice Geddy & Alex make. Some people just aren't happy with 40 years worth of music. How sad.
  12. Although I don't care for him personally the show itself looks like it could be interesting. I guess only time will tell.

Nah, you're not the only one. I don't really like any of the songs on the album either. I can tolerate them live but I never listen to this album. I agree about no melodies. It's worse than SAs.
  14. I think Heart lost its edge when they lost Roger Fisher. Though the later albums were okay they never quite measured up to the earlier ones. I've seen them live several times and Ann and Nancy can still rock with the best of them but their music went too pop for me. Where they shine the most is on the old material, and the Led Zep tunes.
  15. Agreed. Pollster bias. :boo hiss: COS is probably my sixth fave Rush album and it has one dog: ITIGB. Exactly. So you are biased.
  16. You mean there is no bad song on TFE? Really? Then your opinion is very unpopular. I'm talking about the way the poll is set up, not my opinion. People should have the choice to vote for none should they choose to.
  17. I always really liked them but never had a chance to see them live. Chrissy being a fellow Ohioan was a bit of a thrill.
  18. Lots of great songs to choose from but some of my faves are: The Sound of Silence The Boxer Mrs. Robinson Scarborough Fair Cecilia Bridge Over Troubled Water A Hazy Shade of Winter
  19. TFE is nowhere near as bad as Presto, Vapor Trails or CA. The way this poll is set up you have to vote for something in the second category. There should be a none option.
  20. As each day goes by the more I adore you. NIGHT RANGER RULES!!!! What instrument did you play? Sing? "Sing Me Away!" LOL! God I love that song. "Dawn Patrol" is one of the greatest albums ever made. I've played bass since I was 15. I also sang the lead on that song. Holy Cow! Sorry I missed your post Moon! That is incredible! You must be very talented! We should start a band!!! Been playing the drums since I was 12! Cheers! Yeah I bet it would be fun. :)
  21. Not to worry, Treeduck. No one here would ever think you crude. Oh nooooo..... The pipe makes you look respectable. :) That hair is amazing even though it looks like it needs to be deloused. I bet you'd love to delouse him! I'd love to take a shaver to him and get all that nasty facial hair off. He's probably a good looking guy underneath all of that.
  22. good lord, that's awful Aye! He should know better than to get involved with a 30 some year-old girl. They're crazy.
