I'm glad they spend more time on music than videos. LOL That was painful to watch. Ha!!

Rush char-broils us in oil again

Neil does things to me I don't wish to disclose on this forum... -
I don't think they left enough of a cliff-hanger last season, to be honest. That's why the season opener, while funny, was a little bland.

Support your local food pantries, Goodwill and Salvation Army stores. They are there to help those in need who really want the help.

Rush girls, why can I never find you?
Amy Farrah Fowler replied to ericplayzbass's topic in New World Women
I wasn't a big fan of the group until just a few years ago. Find a cool woman and get her interested in the group. There's more to women than just liking Rush. -
Toshiba hasn't really ever let us down. My husband is a gamer and has had a high end Toshiba Qosmio and now has a high end Dell ($3K). He is not a fan of anything low-end Dell or HP.

Download a bunch of wallpapers and set your screen saver to run a slideshow of the folder you saved the files in. Easy peasy!

Clockwork Angels: The Novel Discussion

I finished it over the weekend...I really enjoyed it. My 10-1/2 year old daughter is now reading it and likes it. I've started it over again. -
Rush in Cinema & Television
Amy Farrah Fowler replied to Tombstone Mountain's topic in Video Vertigo
Rather than reinvent the wheel, I just looked for the How I Met Your Mother reference already written for me. http://www.rushisaband.com/display.php?id=1793 "How I Met Your Mother is a US sitcom that runs Monday nights on CBS. In last night's episode (Season 4, episode 18 Old King Clancy) there is a Rush reference. Barney (Neil Patrick Harris), Marshall (Jason Segel - who also stars in I Love You Man) and Lily (Alyson Hannigan) were talking with Robin (Cobie Smulders) about a sexual experience she had with a Canadian celebrity who got her back to his place by showing her a very unique collection but ruined the moment when this celebrity wanted to do a weird Canadian sex act. Over the course of the episode, the characters tried to guess the celebrity, the sex act and the items that this celebrity collected. At one point, Lily guessed anyone from the band Rush, a Montreal meat pie and superhero lunchboxes. You can watch the entire episode online at this link (the Rush reference occurs at about the 16:40 mark). Thanks to Riff Raff for the heads up." -
Great news, all! So glad all the stuff you sent is coming back! Very exciting!!

We're hopefully getting tix to this show...will be last minute. It's a 4 hour drive, but well worth it. I tried to find seats in the lower bowl, but all that seems to be available are the top tier and bottom tier of the pricing...so either bad floor seats or nosebleed. We'll opt for nosebleed and hope we're selected for an upgrade...if not, who cares? It's friggin' RUSH!

I agree. I feel the same about the advanced status of their career. We're going to try to get to at least two more shows this tour. I just can't get enough of the experience. I love the energy of this show.

I just got Season 5 this evening. Yay!

We got over $200 in Best Buy credit by recycling old cell phones... I got TBBT Season 5, Exit...Stage Left and A Show of Hands on DVD out of some of it. Yay me!

You can get 12x12 frames anywhere these days. Square prints are a trend, so there are square frames in all sorts of sizes. This is the photog in me speaking...you may want to pony up the dough, get a larger frame and have a mat cut for your album and then frame it. Paper against glass is a no-no should any moisture get in there. It'll stick to the glass and you'll never get it out of there without something being left on the glass. Having it matted keeps it off the glass...I'd rather replace a mat than the album cover!

Could be the total opposite, in the case of my son, and have ichthyosis. He doesn't produce what is needed to slough dry skin. His skin is usually very leathery and flakes off if it's not controlled with lotion with lactic acid (which tends to burn in the winter time when skin gets chapped). He's 9 and has dealt with it since birth. So far, no one picks on him because he has dry skin all over. Things may suck, but someone always has something worse.

QUOTE (Tarkus406 @ Sep 21 2012, 01:18 PM) QUOTE (Amy Farrah Fowler @ Sep 20 2012, 01:39 PM) QUOTE (Tarkus406 @ Sep 16 2012, 12:26 PM) QUOTE (Gompers @ Sep 14 2012, 11:47 AM) QUOTE (launchpad67a @ Sep 13 2012, 01:13 PM) Until they settle the patent dispute with Samsung the phone cannot be released/sold. Could be a long wait. Buy Android. edit: Android is the future. Android OS may be nice, but I still have never seen a Droid product that matches the overall quality of an Apple product. Is that why I see so many iPhones with smashed glass? That's the fault of the owners, not Apple. If they took care of their devices, their screens wouldn't be smashed I've had several Apple devices. Actually...I STILL have several Apple devices. All with pristine displays. Meh...I've dropped phones many times and never shattered any screens. I'd venture to guess it's quite simple to shatter an iPhone screen. I've never seen anyone with a shattered screen other than an iPhone user.

Clockwork Angels: The Novel Discussion
Amy Farrah Fowler replied to thizzellewashington's topic in Rush
I'm halfway through...finally. I don't get a lot of "me" time to sit and read for an hour or two. I think it would be suitable for that age, Alph Seeker. I've seen one offensive word so far and that was "shit." And I believe it was actually in reference to animal waste. Owen and Francesca do spend a night together, but what they did was rather ambiguous at best. I'd let my kids read it (based on what I've read so far) and they are 10 and 9. -
Good to hear, Therm! Realize they only have so much time to devote to this stuff...maybe send the photo for your brother to another venue? I would imagine they would limit their time to one item, especially if there is a lot of stuff waiting for them.
-
No reference. I had never heard or seen an instance where Neil cited influence from Bunker...just that he enjoyed Tull. I saw the concert I mentioned on Netflix streaming.

QUOTE (Territorial_Game @ Sep 19 2012, 09:09 PM) This thread again. I'd like to see them cover Poker Face.

Give it a few more days. Good luck!

Put a little dish detergent in the water, too. This breaks the water tension so they can't just sit atop the liquid and drink...they fall right through.

QUOTE (therm316 @ Sep 20 2012, 11:38 AM) Looks like I ain't gettin' sh!t back. Drats. How did you package your item? How did you have your return postage done? Just want to make sure you did it correctly...

I emailed Consol just to verify the address. Just let them know you want to send something for the band to sign and they should help you out. My kids are 10 and 9 and saw their first show on the 11th. Happier than pigs in poo they were.
