  1. VIP, Platinum, Public sale, VIP Nation, Ticketmaster.... I just want a good seat, no extra crap, no pre sale, no secret codes...This F'n sucks.
  2. QUOTE (Tick @ Apr 21 2012, 09:39 PM) Holy f*ckin shit! A new album is the stupidest time on this board! Yeah....Everybody has sort of lost their mind with excitement.
  3. http://i519.photobucket.com/albums/u351/Discipleoflerxst/Neiljoint.jpg Look at this picture. They are baked and I firmly believe (and have always since I first saw this picture) that a joint was photoshopped out of Neils fingers. He is, or was clearly holding a joint when this picture was taken and Alex confirmed it (in my eyes) in the High Times article. Guess this answers the thread from a while ago asking if the boys ever did drugs.
  4. Mindcrime is one of the best 80's heavy metal records ever. Saw them twice, once on Empire (another great record) and once in like...'02 with Dream Theater...That show sucked. They lacked energy and just semed to be there to get paid...I left after only a few songs.
  5. I don't know why...But I think his losing his mind is great...I've lost almost any respect I had for this turd after so many of his hateful rants...Don't get me wrong. I think he's a good actor, but from what has been presented about him as a person...Good riddance.
  6. I like it...reminds this olde school fan of the olde days. I'll never listen to it as much as I did 2112, but I think it's better than a lot of the the stuff they've done in the past 25 years.
  7. RIP Dick....Thanks for all the years of entertainment.
  8. QUOTE (bigman208 @ Apr 18 2012, 01:06 PM) I sense some possible Beatles inspiration during the following part: I( or I'll) stroke the fire of the big steel wheels Steer the airship right across the stars I learned to fight, I learned to love, and learned to feel Oh i wish that i could live it all again The vocal melody almost sounds a little I Am The Walrus-ish?? Also, that guitar solo. Man oh man, THAT guitar solo!!! Alex hit it out of the park!! Beat me to it!!!! By seconds!!!!
  9. I like it. About time they made an up tempo song. Does anyone hear something kinda Beatlesque around the 2:10 and again around 3:30 mark...Sounds a little like I Am The Walrus.? Who's that guy on bass? He's pretty good. Kinda hard to to really give a full review after just one listen but I like it just 'cuz it's harder than anything they've done in years. 5:00 sounds like By-Tor. Great song....Really like it.
  10. I always been fascinated by the Titanic story (NOT the movie) ever since my dad taught me that song people used to sing around campfires years ago. An amazing and tragic feat of humanity, science, and engineering.
  11. Here in Orlando.... Gets very little respect.
  12. QUOTE (Godeater2112 @ Apr 17 2012, 03:43 PM) QUOTE (OGr8imL84AD8inF8sBlackSedan @ Apr 17 2012, 04:34 PM) Orlando or FL in general? Only FL date thus far is Tampa: Tampa, FL November 3 Oh hells yeah!!! Saturday night too!!! Thanks!!!!
  13. QUOTE (Workaholic Man @ Apr 16 2012, 10:20 PM) I remember when it came out. I was fully 100% absolutely locked into Rush-Worship mode. I saw them as larger than life, super-mystics whose music and lyrics sent me into other dimensions of consciousness.....and I ain't exaggeratin'.... Then Signals was released. Subdivisions was AMAZING. The texture and the power of the guitar + synth chords, especially at the end, made me play air guitar and air drums more than 2112 ever did..... Such glorious thunder!!! The guitar work of Analog Kid blew me away. I could not fathom how Alex could play that fast..... But then, the next songs told me that something was now different.....not in a bad way, but simply different. Chemistry and Digital Man were definitely something new to consider. The bass playing in Digital Man was incredible. My first experience with The Weapon was one of wonder and confusion. That was the strangest drum beat I had ever heard! New World Man was DEFINITELY different. Many of my friends said that they hated it, as it was so "New Wave". Losing It was really a gear-crunching song; that took a while to appreciate. Countdown, I thought, was awesome. As I was into everything NASA, I loved the tribute to the space shuttle, even though the song was pretty tame. I loved the guitar riff. Overall, I knew that Signals was fundamentally different than the last few albums, and the Tour was different, too. The Show was scaled down, but I didn't feel cheated at all. At times, it was just the three guys on stage, with a single spot light on each of them, and I thought it was COOL..... I felt excatly the same way. Absolutely the same.
  14. QUOTE (Ron2112 @ Apr 17 2012, 09:01 AM) What amazes me is that people here seem perfectly willing to villify a person they've never met, over something that he did 25 years ago, when (judging by his age now) he must heve been very young. As for the book....no it isn't the most well-written book out there. But at the time it was published, the only other Rush books out there were Steve Gett's and Brian Harrigan's. "Visions" was the only one with really solid (and as it turns out, accurate) info about the pre-history of Rush. Stuff that I didn't know at the time. So for all it's tone, you have to give Bill credit for at least getting a well-researched product out there. Peace, Ron People villify people everywhere, not just here. He just happens to be the victim du jour. And as for the book. I agree with you. Poorly written or not, it was THE book to have and aside from all the B-Man stuff, it's informative and entertaining.
  15. QUOTE (Ron2112 @ Apr 17 2012, 08:18 AM) QUOTE (GeddyRulz @ Apr 17 2012, 05:31 AM) I've also read from Bill's friends and people who've tailgated with him at Rush concerts that he's misunderstood and actually a great guy. But that's a bunch of friends and B-Man Disciples defending him. What a narrow-minded thing to say. Yeah, I've met the B-man via a common friend. No, I'm not a disciple. Yes, he was a nice guy to talk to and share a beer with. Amazing that people here bear some grudge over something that: a) happened 25 years ago happened when the B-man was very young c) didn't involve anyone here Get a life. Peace, Ron Maybe he was just being nice to you. And you don't know him either...You met him once and had a beer with him and some friends...Granted that's more than any of us. I'm sure there are people who thought Charles Manson was a nice guy too. Nobody is bearing a grudge either. Someone asked what ever became of him. People responded with stories that were evidently true, and others are posting opinions on what they assume the guy is like based on his book that started out about and halfway through became a "MY life and times with the band you all love and you wish you could be me" memoir.
  16. Great episode...Always leaves me wanting more.
  17. QUOTE (1 of the 7 @ Apr 15 2012, 09:20 PM) The only things making me anxious are keeping up with the increase in posts here, I feel the same way. I can't keep up as it is, and am afraid something is gonna leak, or be released and I'm gonna miss it, or get burried in a million threads and posts.
  18. These songs take me back to my senior year in high school. Everybody Wants To Rule The World - Tears For Fears Don't You Forget About Me - Simple Minds (a songs I've grown to hate) Broken Wings - Mr. Mister
