  1. I just want a cleaner, less muddy mix. CA's mix is the only thing I truly dislike about it.
  2. http://progarchy.com...nst-conformity/ Makes me wish I was born two decades earlier! I so wish I could have experienced RUSH in the mid-80s!
  3. Secret Touch came to mind too. Very unconventional structure even by Rush standards.
  4. I've always found this song musically AND lyrically dark.
  5. So are the seven other albums just not worthy of inclusion?
  6. Aw c'mon. Not a one song from Presto to Snakes & Arrows tickles your fancy? :P
  7. Which would you choose? "Staples" being Tom Sawyer, The Spirit of Radio, YYZ and 2112, which are unlikely to ever be dropped from setlists from now on so make sure to include them alongside your other choices from Moving Pictures, Permanent Waves and 2112! My choices... Rush: Working Man (Without Reggae intro) Fly By Night: By-Tor and the Snow Dog Caress of Steel: The Fountain of Lamneth (In the Valley/Didacts and Narpets) 2112: 2112 (Overture/Temples of Syrinx) A Passage to Bangkok A Farewell to Kings: Xanadu (Full) Hemispheres: La Villa Strangiato (Full) Permanent Waves: The Spirit of Radio Jacob's Ladder Moving Pictures: Tom Sawyer YYZ Vital Signs Signals: The Weapon Grace Under Pressure: The Enemy Within Power Windows: Marathon Hold Your Fire: Open Secrets Presto: Hand Over Fist Roll the Bones: Ghost of a Chance Counterparts: Leave That Thing Alone Test For Echo: Driven Vapor Trails: Ceiling Unlimited Snakes & Arrows: We Hold On Clockwork Angels: Headlong Flight
  8. At the Charlotte show in 2012 the crowd seem pretty enthused overall, though they did seem to check out after Force Ten. Alex's solo in Analog Kid and the CA songs in general got them hyped up again though, and Headlong Flight got a huge reaction. Of course, YYZ/TS/TSoR/2112 got the biggest reactions.
  9. Headlong Flight The Anarchist The Garden Carnies Clockwork Angels BU2B Caravan Wish Them Well Seven Cities of Gold The Wreckers Halo Effect BU2B2
  10. Yes, the song is a bit of a downer and the boys want to keep the show lively and not depressing, but I think with the string ensemble it could have been friggin' amazing.
  11. I don't mind. You guys notice the ladies were shown more than the other ensemble members? It's nice for there to be some eyecandy on the stage at a Rush concert for once. Honestly found the pov shots from the crowd a lot more annoying and disorienting.
  12. Carnies: This gem has even MORE bombast live. I always thought it was the most underrated CA song and hopefully it finally gets the appreciation it deserves. It's up there with The Anarchist and The Garden (Still doesn't touch Headlong Flight of course ;) ) for me. Seven Cities of Gold: I don't know why, but this song just seems to translate better. Maybe due to its jamminess? Whatever the case, instrumentally this is a feast for the ears. Geddy's slappin' like no tomorrow! The Wreckers: One of my least favorite CA songs initially just became lots better hearing Alex's extended solo at the very end. Who knew it'd make that much of a difference?
  13. The sound was OK overall but did you guys feel that Neil was drowned out in the mix? Especially in the string-heavy songs?
  14. No set one is a bit of a joke. Still had an amazing time but was underwhelmed that they couldn't have just extended the theater cut to 3 hours. :(
  15. I don't see why they felt the need to shorten it. What's 20 extra minutes?
  16. I would have been exceptionally pissed if I got there and these four songs were edited out. Just an FYI, sorry if this has been discussed somewhere else. More info up on the RIAB website regarding this Thursday's exclusive dvd song releases on that website. Thanks for the heads up. This explains why the theatrical cut is only 2hr25m.
  17. Why is this listed as only 2hr25m? Isn't that cutting a good 20 minutes out?
  18. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/q-a-les-claypool-on-primus-future-and-his-tv-show-with-dean-ween-20130925 This is something I can welcome! Tim is so underrated.
  19. Been a while since I indulged in a setlist thread! Let's see... 20. Only thing I'm not a fan of is the mix. It's way too muddy and my (YOUNG) ears grow fatigued over the halfway mark when listening to it in its entirety.
