  1. Yes, A little taste of it would be nice about now
  2. I'm a big fan of the vacuume. Most don't like to do it, but you can tune out everything around you when you are doing it.
  3. QUOTE (tel @ Feb 14 2012, 02:32 PM) ive only read ghost rider, ive learned that with determination and strength mankind can eventually overcome even the most devastating of events. Neil went through hell and highwater and emerged intact,i only hope i would have the same strength in similar circumstances. Ditto, We can only imagine what he went through at that time.
  4. I saw them twice with S&A and twice with Time Machine. His voice was awesome with Snakes and maybe laboring a little with the Time Machine tour, depending on the song. But all in all it was ok in my book.

Thanks for posting this up. I'm also late for the party at times. As they say "life gets in the way sometimes. Being a reader myself I will keep a lookout on the horizon for an update.
  6. Thanks for posting up the review "Owl". I been a while since I listen the whole album. It was a good read. Overall all your points are on the mark. Working man being my personal fav.
  7. I was always a Fletch fan. Thanks for posting up the quotes, I'm typing with tears in my eyes from laughing.
  8. QUOTE (ucsteve667 @ Feb 11 2012, 03:49 AM) $20 I can sell you eternal life.... "And on your deathbed you will receive total consciouness, so I have that going for me" Bill Murry from Caddyshack.
  9. QUOTE (Mika @ Feb 8 2012, 09:15 PM) QUOTE (Atomic @ Feb 6 2012, 12:16 PM) On 2112, I ate the soup. You know, I'd have never made it through the day without that soup. It's really good soup. Then I talked and not talked for hours before going to sleep on my shrimp cot. I forgot about the soup! But I did watch that doc just so I could hear the shrimp cot thing again.... First time I heard it I was laughing so much I had a few tears leaking out, and started appreciating Geddy for more than just his bass playing. Oh, shrimp cot! And Capt Starman, nice tat! Goes really nicely with your moniker! Thanks Mika, it was long overdue, happy I finally did it.
  10. QUOTE (GeddyLeeFender @ Feb 10 2012, 04:32 PM) So awesome...we need more of this! Agreed, its long overdue for them.
  11. His voice is just fine. It's just maybe changing a little, nothing wrong with it all. Sometimes we need to "deviate from the norm"
  12. It was at that moment I was getting my starman tattoo. I made the appointment for 2-1-12 at 8pm and he finished up at 10pm. Well, I don't think you could have picked a more perfect time to get that done! And you'll always remember the extra significance the tattoo carries. Can you share a picture of it I did post this somewhere else on the fourm, but here it is again. Made the appointment a week in advance to insure it got done on 2-1-12.The light makes it a little glaring. http://i.imgur.com/OaTX3.jpg
  13. QUOTE (Bastille Dave @ Feb 7 2012, 07:02 PM) The show talked about Yes, Genesis, King Crimson, and ELP but not Jethro Tull oddly enough. Also, they talked about Queensryche's Mindcrime album but not The Warning, which was a landmark album combining metal and prog. And ZERO mention of Fates Warning, who were responsible for two leaps in the prog metal evolution: the doomy heavy prog metal of the 80's and the Ray Alder Queensryche-type of prog they began in 1989 that influenced tons of bands after that like Neal Morse and others. I know for a fact that Mike Portnoy is a huge FW fan so no mention was kinda strange, but it is Sam Dunn's documentary so I guess he can do whatever he wants. I thought the length of time they spent on Rush was pretty appropriate, but they shouldve talked about Hemispheres a bit more. Agreed, I was waiting for a plug on Hemispheres only because that album was so different from anything you heard back then. I always thought of it as ahead of it's time.
  14. When it came out I lent it to my brother in-law to watch. He wasn't a big fan like me, but it educated him a lot about the band. I think it gave us fans a better look and some insight on what this band is all about.
  15. The two-parter sounds like a great idea. Two songs I haven't heard in a while. I will have to add that on my list of things to do for tomorrow
  16. Really tough choice for me on this. I'm going with 2112 because it influenced me so much when I first heard it. Hemisheres 2nd.
  17. Sherlock Holmes. Downey is a great Holmes compared to thoses black & white sleepers
  18. Great interview, thanks for sharing. I loved the screen in the backround. Would love to get a screen saver like that.
  19. I see that last night also. They spent a good amount of time with the early albums and the interviews were great. They even showed how Rush progressed into the late 70' and early 80's.
  20. Moving Pictures had the perfect mixture of guitar and keyboard. The sound with the lyrics said Rush.
  21. QUOTE (That One Guy @ Feb 1 2012, 10:25 PM) Anyone familiar with the 24 hour clock? 9:12 pm is always 2112 hours. So double 2112. Tonight. At 9:12pm. 2/1/12 2112 It was at that moment I was getting my starman tattoo. I made the appointment for 2-1-12 at 8pm and he finished up at 10pm.
  22. QUOTE (The Killer Rabbit @ Feb 2 2012, 01:35 AM) I tried calling work today to ask for 2112 day off, and my Rush fan dispatcher said, dont annoy us futher, you have your work to do lol That was actually a good start to the day I almost fell off my chair reading this
  23. QUOTE (salges @ Feb 2 2012, 09:32 PM) First of all, kudos to greyfriar for his continued concert experiences. So cool. I'm 57, recently enlightened to the band, and after all these years of thinking about it, now I'm ready for a tattoo. I think I've settled on the "R" with the integral "3" and the amalgam symbol to its right. I want it visible without being "out there". Maybe inside of a forearm. With all the wine I've had tonight, if I knew of a good artist, I'd do it right now. My wife would be outraged, but WTF. Thats what I said about a month ago, WTF. I have been talking about this tattoo for more then a decade. I'm 46 and been a big fan since the early 80's and my wife thought it was a cool idea to do it on 2-1-12.
  24. QUOTE (the masked drummer @ Feb 2 2012, 10:01 AM) Every time I get a new gf I have to explain this. I am getting tired of it so I'm keeping my current gf for a while. Lol You can tell them that everboby has laundry to do. Nothing wrong in playing while getting the laundry done.
