  1. Which is better? The studio version? The live version? Which live version? I always thought it'd be interesting to hear others' takes on which version of Rush songs were their favorites. I have my favorites that I always go to for certain songs, what about all of you guys? I'll give an example using all of PeW The Spirit of Radio - Time Machine Tour Freewill - Time Machine Tour Jacob's Ladder - Studio version Entre Nous - Studio version Different Strings - Studio version (No live recordings of this I believe) Natural Science - Snakes and Arrows Live I'm sorry if this has already been done on another thread. I am just curious about other fellow Rush fans out there!
  2. Finding My Way Best I Can The Fountain of Lamneth Twilight Zone Cinderella Man The Trees Natural Science Red Barchetta Losing It Red Lenses Mystic Rhythms Turn the Page Red Tide The Big Wheel Cut to the Chase Carve Away the Stone Peaceable Kingdom Good News First The Anarchist
  3. Favorite production: Time Machine Tour (I was there!) Favorite performance: This is hard. Songs from each live album top each other. Overall, I'm going with Snakes and Arrows Live
  4. Top 5 (no order) Moving Pictures Permanent Waves Clockwork Angels Hemispheres Power Windows :smoke:
  5. Rio was always my least favorite because it's hard to hear the guys playing and Geddy singing. The crowd is great yes, but I prefer to hear the band over the audience!
  6. Yes I was in section 108 and really close to Geddy's tech crew. From what I could make out, his ear monitor wasn't working right. He was mouthing to the crew something like "It's worse" or something close to that. They kept trying to fix it between songs. I'm pretty sure Geddy played the 1st two songs, Caravan and Clockwork Angels, without being able to hear himself in his ear monitors. Which is incredible because those songs were practically flawless! Great show indeed!
  7. Time Machine takes #1 for me. The setlist is superb and the boys' playing is incredibly captured. I was at this show in Cleveland too! Fantastic show! Sure Geddy's vocals aren't as excellent as other live albums, but overall, Time Machine takes the gold P.S Snakes is runner up IMO
  8. QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ Jul 24 2012, 09:41 AM)my greatest worry is that they overdo it with the orchestra and turn it into something similar to what metallica did. I loved Metallica S&M!

  11. QUOTE (CruisingInPrimetime @ Feb 1 2012, 11:39 PM) Not a wishlist. I'm realistically trying to predict the set list. Here it goes! Set 1: Intro video with CA artwork (steampunk, clocks, trains, angels) Far Cry The Analog Kid Distant Early Warning Presto Force Ten New CA song New CA song Armor and Sword Dreamline Free Will Vital Signs -------------------------- Intermission -------------------------- Set 2: Opening Video for epic 5-song peice 1. Caravan 1. New CA song 3. BU2B 4. New CA song 5. New CA song Subdivisions New CA Song Earthshine The Main Monkey Business Drum Solo Alex acoustic peice Limelight One Little Victory The Spirit of Radio Tom Sawyer -------------------------- Encore: Working Them Angels YYZ 2112 Overture/Temples of Syrinx/Grand Finale Funny Outro Video I really like your setlist! I would love to see Analog Kid and 2112 as the closing song/encore. I think you'll be the closest to the real thing!
  12. QUOTE (Middle Kingdom @ Feb 3 2012, 05:22 PM) In viewing this thread, it seems that the issue is that people are taking this: "Geddy's voice is weaker now." as "Geddy can't sing and I hate how the band sounds now." Conversely, others are taking this: "I don't mind how his voice sounds now." as "Ged hasn't changed one bit." The reality is both sides are reaching the middle ground, but from opposite directions. Both sides know his voice is different and not as strong as it was. One side is bothered by this, and one side is not. But each side is pushing their point to the extreme, ie, one side are "haters" and one side "fanboys". I think each side is really in the same spot, knowing Ged has limitations. One side chooses to highlight the downside, and the other chooses to enjoy what it is at this point in time. Personally, I noticed the change in the 2010 shows, especially on the boots. I'm saddened by the change, but I knew it was coming and I take it in stride. I don't assume it's not there, but I don't cringe at any failed attempt at notes higher than he can attain. I think this will be their last go around, and I will savor each show I attend, no matter where Ged's register is at.
  13. There are already several Rush songs on RB... Moving Pictures album Trees Subdivisions Caravan Fly By Night Spirit of Radio (Live) Working Man Closer to the Heart 2112 (Full) But if you could pick just 5 more songs to add to this list, what songs would they be? Here are mine! 1. Freewill 2. La Villa Strangiato 3. Far Cry 4. Leave That Thing Alone 5. Natural Science
  14. Leave That Thing Alone - TM Presto - TM Natural Science - S/A Live YYZ - S/A Live Witch Hunt - S/A Live Can't think of anymore...
  15. The Big Wheel is not a bad song! I wouldn't mind seeing the guys play it on the CA tour next summer!
  16. I think Presto really worked out for Rush this past tour. They should definitely bring that back. Bravado, Face Up, and Where's My Thing would nice to hear live too.
