  1. I was taught by my parent's to always open and hold door's for the ladies, and also to be considerate of saying sir and maime, to older folks. That should be second nature for everyone..that's just being polite and respectful. Sometimes I fail in that regard, but I try not to. We all make mistakes, and I've made a ton..I apologize to the RUSH forum , if I've spoken rudely to anyone on here. I'm trying to change my angry ways. I have no excuse for it, and I'm sorry...i'm guilty as charged.
  2. Hey, thanks for the info, tony..Right on!
  3. I've got ton's of pic's (being a amatuer abstract/landscape Photographer) mostly 35 mm slide format, although I do have a digital..don't use it much though...I'm just not too computer-literate to figure out how to post.. any suggestions??

  5. Go to Rolling Stone Mag...(On second thought, maybe your should'nt.) If ya want'a get a good dose of garbage. they've said all kinds vile derogatory s**t about geddy and RUSH..It's frickin' insane what they've said about them. That's why I'll NEVER set foot in the hall of shame, or buy one of their piece of S**T mags...haven't for yrs and yrs and more yrs..........truly disgusting org. and mag..Anyone who purposely ridicules/makes fun of the 2nd greatest band EVER.....is gonna get my anger-rath-contempt... The guys of RUSH, put their all into every performance, and all those yo-yo's can do is make a bunch'a freekin' scum-bag remarks...... Sorry for the rant..it just tics me off..Has since the late 70's.
  6. I voted MP--but instead of RB, I have to put Limelight in there..best song on the LP,imo.
  7. Hot Dogs are about as AMERICAN as Apple pie, Chevy's, and Playboy playmates... Come on, get with the program... That's just bunk-weed..to the extreme.........
  8. Excellent thread. I think I'd have to say, it's a tie between Harrison and McCartney.George had some classic solo lp's, including "All Things Must Pass" one of the greatest album's EVER recorded, imo.Taxman is FRICKIN GREAT!! Best song he did as a Beatle, my other favorites were "If I needed someone""Roll Over Beethoven" "something" and "Here Comes The Sun", along with a few others. Sir paul had some great one's too. The 1st 2 come to mind immediately. Anyway , all 4 had their moment's in the solo studio, even good ol Ringo. Ringo's best 2 song's with the Beatles were " Octopuses Garden" (just dug this tune as a kid..still do.) and "With a little help from my friends" "Yellow Submarine" was also decent.
  9. Hey man, AWESOME choice for a summer vacation. I suggest lots of film,if you shoot 35mm old school, which is what I do.In 95, my ex-wife and I went there and the scenary was completely unreal. Go to the lodge. It has all kinds of info, food , etc. Go see the gysers and the falls. Its high elevation, so be prepared for cold nights, and all that.Your gonna dig it! Look out for the bears, and ya might even see a moose or 2 or 3...definately will see quite a few deer, etc. Have fun on your trip!!
  10. All I can say is when you got teenager's and early 20-something's listening to crap--I mean rap and hip-hop, if you ask them to name ANY classic rock band (RUSH included)from the late 60's-and 70's, they'll look at ya with a complete blank stare on their faces..... It's like classic rock has now become irrelevant , and not worth listening to..and to me , that's just B.S... almost like a musical crime.Alternative rock is cool, but that's not what were talkin' about here...the music that my age group grew up with, basically died with Elvis,Moon, Bonham and Lennon..and rock history is just NOT being taught to the younger generation.. I still say about 85-90 % of the kid's are rock and roll illiterate.. atleast if not more, based on what they're listening to. Look at the american music awards.... That is a total JOKE, imo..just case in point, to how dumbed-down our population has become, both musically , and otherwise. SAD.
  11. QUOTE (GeddyLeeFender @ Jul 27 2011, 10:43 AM) I try to convert people but most of them just dont get it unless they really know music, and people my age (20) dont know music ...Ain't that the truth. Most young people (16-25) are musically illiterate beyond belief, based on the current state of the music industry, and what they're listening to.They don't have the foggiest idea what rock music is, or sounds like...that's a fact ..sad but true. It's a CRYIN' SHAME because rock and classic rock held so much promise..and now it's like...gone. RUSH and a few other long-time band's are the only ones out there that are keeping rock and roll alive, imo. ..and the way I see it, it's on big time life support.
  12. I used to have a dog. She died in 2005. She was 10, so she lived a long life, for the most part..still miss her. I do want to get another dog eventually. Mans best friend, for sure.
  13. QUOTE (JohnnyBlaze @ Jul 25 2011, 04:47 AM) QUOTE (go2wrk@95974 @ Jul 24 2011, 04:51 AM) Well anyway..I tried to qualify in 2001-02 for the PBA tour, but barely missed.(You have to ave. in a sanchioned hot-shot league , and ave. of 200, for 2 consecutive yrs..I averaged 204 for 2001, but only 195 in 2002..so..that sucked..missed by 1 freakin' pin, on average.) Sooo...,to make a long story short, THAT was a major disappointment, to say the least! Hey, you can't say you didn't try your ass off. That MUST be worth something. A lot of suckers never even try reaching for their dreams. Hey, thanks for the comment. Yeah, just the way it all happened, with my dad dyin'..just wish he could'a been there to see the 3...I even quit bowling for a couple yrs, because of the shock..then realized I needed to get back into the hunt, in order to make it to the" big leagues", and make my dad and gramps proud..... So I'm glad I did that, and fought thru it..if not I definitely would'a had regrets,no doubt. so..even though I didn't make it, it was still a victory. bittersweet..but that's life in the jungle.
  14. I like your smile,Babycat...Beautiful!
  15. Not if your a BEAR fan..it looks like a shitzter on the left.. and a C for CHI-TOWN on the right..
  16. congrats on gettin' there. I still got along way to go...
  17. On top of that...who just picked his nose.. then flicked it on the wall????...ya know the ol "spots on the wall..by pickett & Flickett" routine???!!!?!?
  18. WOW...I'd take that as an insult, if someone asked if RUSH were a band...That's just unbelievable. (Have a few other choice words to say..but I'll refrain...)
  19. My biggest disappointments?? Probably the divorce , after 12 yrs of trying to make it work. Dis-honorable mention#1: I grew up literally (for the most part) in a number of Bowling alleys..(started bowlin' when I was 5.) My dad and grandfather were absolute bowling fiend's.. fanatic is not even the word. Anyway, my dad was grooming me for the PBA ( Pro bowler's assoc.) He used to tell me I had the best arm-swing he'd ever seen. (and they both bowled for 50 + yrs.) My dad died of cancer at 59, in 1991...then my gramps died the next yr., so the road to the pba was derailed..big time. I only wish They could have seen me bowl the 300..maybe they did... My dad would'a flipped his lid, because he bowled like 15 or so 279's in league, but never could get to the "top of the mt."...300 game. My grandfather had the same situation...that's why my 300 game was such an unbelievable event..never thought I'd get anywhere near that. (The best deal was, I got a big ol solid gold 10 caret ring, directly from the American Bowling congress!...Im still stoked,10 years later.) My dad would'a thrown the biggest party EVER!!!! lol! Well anyway..I tried to qualify in 2001-02 for the PBA tour, but barely missed.(You have to ave. in a sanchioned hot-shot league , and ave. of 200, for 2 consecutive yrs..I averaged 204 for 2001, but only 195 in 2002..so..that sucked..missed by 1 freakin' pin, on average.) Sooo...,to make a long story short, THAT was a major disappointment, to say the least! ..major disappointment #2: ???...not ending this post SOONER!
  20. I wouldn't mind having a little spot of tea right now... I think that would be bloody great!! Just had a plain ol sip of American tap water! ..fortunately it's been filtered..Thank God for that!!
