  1. Neil would probably love it, I doubt there are too many Rush fans in prison. If they really wanted to punish him they'd sentence him to live with a hardcore fan for a few years.
  2. Makes you wonder why we even bothered splitting from Britain back in 1776... it's now 2011 and we're still bombarded with the Royals. I wouldn't be surprised if this was getting bigger news coverage in the US than in Britain.
  3. obviously they're busy right now, but if Elton John got an invite they should have gotten one!
  4. QUOTE (Alex @ Apr 28 2011, 10:07 PM) I mean explicit terms, detailed discussion, a few issues that have very mature inplications. wow, now I want to join!

  6. QUOTE (usb_connector @ Apr 28 2011, 07:26 PM) QUOTE (Lost In Xanadu @ Apr 28 2011, 03:34 PM) QUOTE (EveryNerveAware @ Apr 28 2011, 02:14 PM) QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Apr 28 2011, 03:09 PM) Nate, I'll be honest -- you might be too young for SOCN. Just looking out for you. I'd like the opinions of current SOCN people about whether someone who just turned 13 is too young for in there. No on 13 year olds. You would be accused of trying to influence their political thinking at such a young age. I know you sure would... poisoning his mind People should be at least 30 before they can join, at least then they'd have had some real world experience and not living on all these hoop dreams the left paint If people had to be at least thirty, the board would have to be renamed "People susceptible to a mid-life crisis within 10 years talking about politics". I've been following politics since the 2004 American elections. Mind you, the way I treat information has greatly changed since then, but I've been fairly well informed on at least Canadian politics since then. thanks for making me feel old... I thought at 31 I was still pretty young, but now I'm almost at a mid-life crisis
  7. I hope they get some good shots inside the Abbey... if anyone's ever been there, it's quite an impressive piece of medieval architecture.
  8. I'm a little surprised that this is such a HUGE story in America. It's literally dominating every news channel right now. Are you looking forward to it? Are you mildly interested? Do you not give a crap? Do you loathe the royals?
  9. I recently watched The Living Daylights... and while I'm not a huge fan of Timothy Dalton as Bond, I thought this was a great film. Severely underrated...
  10. It can't possibly suck as much as S&A
  11. QUOTE (Rushchick10 @ Apr 26 2011, 02:52 PM) QUOTE (SeamusWiles @ Apr 26 2011, 02:10 PM) there needs to be a RUSH dating site... I'd be all over that!! And, if a dude happens to look like Geddy, I'd be all over him, too! maybe we can get the admins to open a "singles" section
  12. I have the 2004 remaster, and it's still a little lacking in the "balls" department. Some of the songs could also use a volume boost, during Presto I have to turn it way up just to hear Geddy's voice.
  13. my work has a strict "business casual" dress code, so I'm not required to wear a tie or anything but I do have to wear slacks and nice shirts. Even that's hard for me, I'm more of a jeans and t-shirt kind of guy.
  14. this show is a joke now that Simon Cowell is gone. Steven Tyler "loves" everyone no matter what... none of the judges give any constructive criticism. It's just "yo dawg, that was pretty good" and "I loved it"
  15. If you don't like the 97 remaster, pick up the 2011 one. It's not as loud.
  16. QUOTE (Sir Lerxst @ Apr 25 2011, 12:19 PM) I just had a thought about "Presto". Neil recorded an entire show during the 2010 leg (I believe it was the PNC Centre in NJ), for his Instructional Recording he is releasing later this year. Now, I'd imagine that most of the cameras will be focused on Neil (for obvious reasons), however, I would be surprised if they had no footage of Alex and Geddy at all - they could also mix in the wide angle, 'blimp-cam' and audience shots from the Cleveland recording into the PNC Recording to get one, mistake free version of Presto. Just a thought. I don't know, what if they were wearing different clothes or something? It would look too obvious... like 2112 in ASOH when Alex's guitar mysteriously changes in the middle of the song lol
  17. I wish they'd leave the Presto mistake in... it would add a certain charm. I hate when they try to "fix" live recordings.
  18. honestly, I don't think I've ever met a female under 30 who even knew who Rush was
  19. I'm no audiophile, but the album was recorded over 30 years ago... I'm not sure what some people were expecting.
  20. I don't even have a 5.1 audio setup, but I still bought the blu-ray. Sounds fantastic! Someday I'll get 5.1 speakers so I can hear it in all it's glory.
