  1. QUOTE (ReRushed @ Mar 15 2012, 09:36 PM) QUOTE (Yokkov @ Mar 15 2012, 10:12 PM) QUOTE (Kent @ Mar 15 2012, 01:24 PM) I feel I NEED it, after Springsteens depressing new album. Yeah, I Know! I've never been a Springsteen fan, but I've always acknolaged that his music has lots of good elements. But then I heard my brother listening to some of the new album, and I found myself wondering how he finds it in himself to like theat material. The parts I heard were just really dreary, bad copies of other songs, or just plain bad songwriting. Oh well! Everyone loses their touch eventually..... Hey, Rolling Stone magazine gave the new Springsteen album 5 stars. And you trust and respect Rolling Stone Magezine?

    Any arguments here?

Ummmmmmmmmm yeah... My humble opinion is that John Bonham deserves to be number one waaaay more than Neil Peart.
  4. QUOTE (presto123 @ Nov 7 2011, 01:55 PM) Just because it says Spring doesn't mean they can't push it back but I am hopeful it will be Spring as are you:) You can also go the other way. Just because it says spring doesn't mean that it won't come out in like February or something. You always gotta have some hope of something good in the music business happening!
  5. Steve Winwood was 15 when he had his first number one hit over the Beatles. While Rush are amazing, they're not the only musically talented people out there.
  6. His voice might be a little bit better, but: 1) Who cares, he can still sing and 2) He looks like a jedi in that video!
  7. I think I might just have found a rare Who promotional vinyl. Here are some links to some pictures of it. http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-...0_5217591_n.jpg http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-...4_7787981_n.jpg http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-...2_6520488_n.jpg http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-...3_7963874_n.jpg My questions are:how rare is it?, and when is it from. I know that this is the rush forum, but anyhelp would be great. Thanks, Yokkov
  8. I really like Pearl Jam live. Eddie Vedder is just an awesome frontman and the band is playing tighter thn ever. I really like how they change their setlist every night so that you can see multiple shows in the same tour and they will all be completely different.

    Tom Saywer on 45

All you need to do is put the regular 33 1/3 speed moving pictures on a turntable and put the speed of the turn table to 45 RPM. It's really funny to hear Geddy's voice sped up like that.

    Tom Saywer on 45

QUOTE (drbirdsong @ Jul 22 2011, 02:36 PM) I've got it on vinyl, but I have no turntable. How about an mp3? There's no more tour and the DVD is months away and the new CD even farther in the future so any little thing helps. If there is a way to do it on MP3, then I don't know of it. Sorry

    Tom Saywer on 45

For those of you who have Moving Pictures on vinyl, go listen to Tom Saywer and YYZ on 45 RPM. I did it accidently and it made my day. Be Prepared to
  12. Do you think that pink Floyd is going to have a reunion tour? We'll just have to wait and see!!
  13. QUOTE (rollthebones1963 @ Jul 9 2011, 12:33 PM) ever since 2112 came out,i just about bet that rush has played side 1 at every concert since then have'nt they? Sorry, but not even close. 2112came out in 1976, and even during that and closely following tours, they never played it full. They skipped the part; oracle:the dream in every concert. Then on the moving picture tour, because of their mass of material, they started only playing the first 2 parts, overture, and temples of syrinx. Then, in the test for echo tour in 1996-1997, they DID play the full side one of the album. I'm not critizing you at all, just informing another fan about rush!
  14. I just can't see Rush just giving up and stopping. They're one of the only bands I know that have been together and touring for almost 40 years! Even though Neil says that he can't see himself playing at sixty, I honestly think that they will continue to play with each other until ( ) one of them dies. is Imortal
  15. QUOTE (apetersvt @ Jul 5 2011, 09:21 PM) the difficult thought for me about a co headlining tour is that both bands would play abbreviated single sets (2 hours versus 3 hours). Anyway, since this isn't for real, I guess my ultimate tour would have both bands playing 2 sets for 3 hours each. SO, I choose Pink Floyd. Get Roger and David back together and unfortunately they would have to find someone for Richard's spot. THIS!!!!!!!! Rush and Pink Floyd=blow everyones mind! Then at the end they need to come and play an encore together!
  16. I heard a little while ago that some if not most bands sell their meet and greets. Does Rush do this? If so, where do you get them and how much money are they? If not, how do so many people get meets and greets? They can't all win a contest!
  17. I'm always in favor of the epics that aren't really 20 minutes. Like Natural Science and Xanadu. Saying that, I really like the formats of A farewell to kings and permanent waves. I think that A farewell to kings shouldn't hit you with a 12 minute song almost right away, but more like Jacobs ladder, kinda 8 minutes. My Problem with Permanent waves is just that I don't like the 2 hits back to back at the begining
  18. Jesus Christ, post the second half! I wanna see if he met Neil again!
  19. Post the rest! Great story. If only that could happen to everyone!
  20. QUOTE (StellarJetman @ Jun 21 2011, 11:42 AM) From that other thread: QUOTE (RushNut @ Jun 21 2011, 07:06 AM)QUOTE (Good @ bad, andrush,Jun 21 2011, 09:02 AM) QUOTE (JohnnyBlaze @ Jun 21 2011, 07:58 AM) QUOTE (Ancient Ways @ Jun 21 2011, 09:57 PM) QUOTE (Sir Lerxst @ Jun 21 2011, 08:38 AM) I can think of a track from every album, which I don't think should have made the cut. I would love to see that list... imho: Rivendell, Speed of Love, YBYL...after that I have to think. I'll have a go at this... This deserves a separate thread So, yeah, here's the separate thread. I'll start: Fly by Night: "Rivendell", "Best I Can" Caress of Steel: "I Think I'm Going Bald" 2112: "A Passage to Bangkok" (I know that I'm going to be crucified for this one.) A Farewell to Kings: Everything after "Xanadu" (I just hate that album. Sorry!) Hemispheres: Nothing much, really, although the title track could have used a lot more work. Permanent Waves: "Jacob's Ladder", the "Permanent Waves" section of "Natural Science" Moving Pictures: "Witch Hunt" (Too annoyingly preachy, I'm afraid.) Signals: "Countdown", not so much because it's weak (I don't much care for most of the songs on Signals, actually), but because it's weak and keeps the album going after "Losing It", which would have been a perfect finale. Grace Under Pressure: "The Body Electric" Power Windows: "Marathon", possibly "Emotion Detector" Hold Your Fire: "Second Nature", "Tai Shan" Presto: "Scars", possibly "Anagram", "Hand Over Fist" Roll the Bones: The rap, "Where's My Thing?", "Neurotica", "You Bet Your Life" Counterparts: The stupid "noir" monologues, "Stick It Out", "The Speed of Love", possibly "Everyday Glory" Test for Echo: "Half the World", "Time and Motion", "Totem", "Dog Years", possibly "Resist", "Carve Away the Stone" Vapor Trails: "Out of the Cradle", because, like "Countdown", it's an incredibly weak ending that comes right after what would have been a proper finale. I'd probably put it on this list regardless of its placement, though. Snakes and Arrows: "Faithless", because Neil's preachiness is even more annoying when it doesn't have a good tune to back it up. Flame away, people! I can't disagree with you more on almost everything that just said. I love Rivendell! It's a little weird but whatever! Same for I think I'm going bald. A Farewell to Kings, the whole thing, is one of my favorate albums. I think that Hemispheres, the ttitle track, is perfect! All of Natural Science, and Jacobs ladder ar awesome! Marathon is my favorate song on Power Windows. I love stick it out! I'm not saying our wrong, I just don't agree!
  21. QUOTE (Good @ bad, andrush,Jun 19 2011, 04:48 PM) Where are you posting from? There is a big button on the right of the screen right above the person's post that says quote. Press it and you'll add a reply beneath someone's post. Thank you so much! I always went into the Reply thing and then pressed on the quote button. But as you can see, I've figured it out (because of you). Thanks again!
